We ordered the classic #6 plate with chicken, shrimp, and beef because we wanted a little bit of everything. Absolutely no notes, everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The flavors were on point and each protein was tender and juicy. The tempura on the side was such a great addition, especially the onion ring (my favorite!). Great Japanese place in a strip mall. Nice ambiance, very clean and comfortable. Limited seating but wasn't a problem for me during lunch hour. I got their lunch special, chicken over rice and a salad, it was delicious! I didn't even use the hot sauce or teriyaki sauces they provided on the side, it was delicious as-is. They have fountain drinks (Coke, Sprite, Lemonade, Root Beer, Diet Coke, and unsweetened iced tea), and a selection of bottled drinks like Snapple. They have an extensive menu, I will have to come back and try more of it, everything from kabobs to tempura! Service was friendly and fast. I usually get combo #3 which is two chicken breast kebab skewers and instead of rice I ask for it over steamed vegetables and double salad on the side in a separate container (really like the dressing too). The chicken was hot and freshly grilled, and was tender to chew! The sauce was interesting: coconut-like and creamy. They also gave small sides of teriyaki sauce on the side! Was driving down topanga canyon after leaving the mall and was craving some new teriyaki chicken, found this place on Yelp. I ordered the special c which came with teriyaki chicken, chicken katsu, also came with a salad and gyoza on the side. It's a nice small local restaurant that can sit probably 5-10 people inside. The person taking my order was nice and helpful, overall can't complain about the service. Overall very good, I will definitely be stopping by again. This place has been around for many decades for a reason. It consistently serves delicious and fresh combination plates. The beef and shrimp skewers over a bed of steamed rice has been my go to. It includes a side salad with a creamy dressing and fresh tempura. The teriyaki sauce is really good, but their hot sauce is what I consider their special touch with the food. Whether I phone in my order for pick up or eat there, it's always wonderful service (there's no table service). I was hoping to like this place, but sadly I do not. First off, the chicken and short ribs was not cut up like other places. The chicken was served in big pieces where you have to cut them up yourself. Even Waba Grill cut up your chicken and short ribs. They don't even give you green onions or sesame seeds. The chicken could have better taste to it, but the one big knock is the teriyaki sauce. It's was too salty. Not great at all. I prefer Bowl & Burger in Canoga Park on Saticoy. I came to this place multiple times before and then stop coming for a while. Today, I drove by and remembered this place, turned around and ordered for to go. Beef kebab : tender, juicy and soft. This is the best one out of the three items that I ordered. Spicy chicken teriyaki : chicken taste okay. Not bad and not special too. The marinated chicken grilled and kind of like dabbed or poured spicy sauce on top. Doesn't look appealing but tasted okay. A little on a rubbery and dry Chicken katsu : I ate some pieces and now I'm confused as what am I gonna do with the rest? The outer crunchy stuff is good but the chicken is like out of the sea!!
