I came to this place multiple times before and then stop coming for a while. Today, I drove by and remembered this place, turned around and ordered for to go. Beef kebab : tender, juicy and soft. This is the best one out of the three items that I ordered. Spicy chicken teriyaki : chicken taste okay. Not bad and not special too. The marinated chicken grilled and kind of like dabbed or poured spicy sauce on top. Doesn't look appealing but tasted okay. A little on a rubbery and dry Chicken katsu : I ate some pieces and now I'm confused as what am I gonna do with the rest? The outer crunchy stuff is good but the chicken is like out of the sea!! Unbelievably SALTY! Eat with rice.. Nope, the chicken is tough and like I said, bring a new meaning of chicken from the sea. Super salty. Maybe it was not a good day? They had initially got my order wrong, not because of their side but the order came in incorrectly from Uber Eats, so please be aware when you order from Uber Eats or GrubHub, that when you add an extra chicken add on it comes in as replacement on their end, I called the store to let them know the order was wrong and they transferred me to another individual who identified himself as the owner, he was very pleasant and understanding and quickly offered me a replacement meal, very happy with the service and the chicken was delicious. The chicken is crispy and best eaten with their House-made hot sauce. Their chicken katsu is so far the best I've had in the SFV. I've tried their Teriyaki Chicken as well and it's also good. The owner and staff are super nice. I normally order for pick-up and it's usually ready in 15 mins or less. It is located in a busy complex in Topanga and Lassen but there are plenty of parking and if full, there's street parking too. The prices are reasonable for large servings. (me while getting coffee) -- Hmm, new place next door, I should try Teriyaki Plus. (guy at counter) -- Actually, we've been here over 22 years. (me after trying food) -- What the What now?! Why didn't I know about this earlier?! I've been here a few times now and haven't had a problem yet. My favorite is the "Special #1", which is a Teriyaki Chicken and Fried White Fish. This is over rice (a dollar extra for brown rice) and a side of 'fried snacks' and a small salad. The Teriyaki Chicken for this specific dish is dark meat and is well marinated and tender. The fried fish is just that: White Fish deep fried, very crispy on the outside, and moist and tender on the inside. Other favorite dishes are the katsu dishes. I prefer the beef katsu because it is more of a western taste. Think "country fried steak" without the gravy. The chicken katsu is good too. Breaded white meat and deep fried to a very crispy brown. As mentioned above, most dishes come with "fried snacks" as I call them. This is a combination of an onion ring or two, a fried dumpling, and a fried wonton. Separately they also offer egg rolls for purchase. They have vegetable or home made chicken egg rolls. The chicken egg rolls are more vegetable than meat, and have a pretty distinct curry like flavoring to them. Service is good. The person at the cashier always takes your order with a smile and tries to know you. The food is good, and prices are decent. I only wish they had a dish that had only Fried White Fish. Normally even when they are busy, it takes less than 15-20 to receive your order. Give this place a try. read more
