Yesterday, while picking up a juice from Nektar, I noticed a new Teriyaki Chicken place at the Hamilton Marketplace. Today I decided to stop in to give Teriyaki Madness a try and was greeted by Rafaella (I hope I spelled that correctly) as I was browsing a handheld menu at the front counter. Rafaella clearly noticed I was lost and asked if it was my first time here and guided me through the menu. I ordered the large size bowl and chose beef and chicken teriyaki as my protein options, along with white rice and stir fry vegetables to go. I sat down and not even 4 minutes later, Rafaella brought me over my food and I was out the door. The total was $20.53 which isn't too bad considering I'm eating a fairly healthy meal. The taste and quality was great and I'll happily admit that I'd rather spend my money here over another large fast food franchise that does teriyaki bowls in the area. The foods great, tons of seating and there is a soft drink station for refills. I'll definitely be back.

Chicken Teriyaki (not spicy) with noodles and vegetables

Ever since a yelp event introduced me to Teriyaki Madness I've been searching for an excuse to return. That excuse presented itself a few nights back and my return visit only validated my earlier opinion: Teriyaki Madness serves up well-priced, ample, and delicious fast-food-adjacent fare. Both because I'm a creature of habit and because I so enjoyed my previous meal here I opted for the exact same thing, a spicy chicken teriyaki bowl with noodles and vegetables. Clearly, this offering is made to order as it arrives at the table piping hot and very fresh. I know it's some version of fast food but it's as good as anything I'd order off a restaurant menu, quicker, and possibly a bit less expensive. I don't often have reason to be in Novato at mealtime but if you find yourself there, hankering for some teriyaki this fast-casual (order and pay at the register) spot is serving something worth stopping for.

We ordered about 8 minutes before arriving through their website and ordering was super straightforward. When we got there during lunchtime, it wasn't busy at all and our food was ready! There is plenty of seating and we chose to eat outside. I loved how the chicken had char marks (I almost wished it was charred a little more, but that's a personal preference.) the rice was well cooked and had plenty and the veggies were also cooked really well. I appreciated the amount of teriyaki sauce they put on the chicken wasn't too much, but they also included sides of teriyaki in case we needed more. Overall it was a simple and solid lunch option and we had some leftovers after.

We decided to stop by for dinner on a weekend evening. It wasn't busy at all inside and we were able to quickly place our orders. The restaurant has some seating inside. The food came out relatively quickly. I do wish they offered some more eco friendly serving bowls for dine in orders. I opted for the chicken katsu and my partner got the spicy orange chicken with noodles. I wasn't the biggest fan of the spicy orange chicken. It just tasted like it was smothered in sriracha and was on the dry side. The noodles were good, although they could use a little more flavor. Thankfully, the tables have some sauces that you can add. The chicken katsu was perfectly crispy. I wasn't a big fan of their katsu sauce. It was more acidic than other katsu sauces i've tried. I instead used teriyaki sauce. Overall, the service was good, but the food could be better.

My daughter and I went to pick up lunch for myself and for my wife. The presentation was wonderful. The food looked fresh and it tasted just right. The young lady on the counter was very graceful and courteous, and greeted us when we came through the door and a big smile to go along with it. We made our order and we sat down and waited in the main room for it to be prepared. I had the Orange chicken teriyaki. It was delivered to the table by a nice young man who brought it quickly and smiled and repeated the order to verify that we were getting what we ordered. Confirming my order was a nice touch. The food was delicious and we were all and enjoying it, and I had mine with the noodles which I really loved. The presentation of the bowl was gorgeous.

After a long drive up from SoCal we were hungry! We needed an option for our 1.5 years old, and tired of fast food. We stopped here on the way to Santa Rosa. I got the spicy teriyaki chicken with brown rice and I got the regular teriyaki chicken sub noodles for my toddler. I spent my time feeding him and he's a picky eater. He ate noods and 3 pieces of chicken. And dipped everything in their extra teriyaki sauce container. The chicken was nicely grilled and seasoned well. It was really tasty. Made to order, so be prepare to wait like 10 minutes ish. My spicy chicken was tasty and actually spicy too. Not too spicy but just the right amount. I love the veggies. It was just steamed (no salt no butter) which is right up my alley when eating with Teri chicken. There were other protein options too like steak, tofu and salmon. The place was really smoky inside. The smoke smell was too strong and I waited for my food outside. The owners (separately husband and wife) came up to me and asked how my meal was and they seemed like they really cared. That was nice! If we're in the area driving up again, we'll stop by to grab some food here.

This new spot recently opened near my work, so I had to check it out. I ordered the salmon teriyaki with chow mein to go (chow mein is an extra $1), and it also came with a side of stir-fried vegetables. The salmon and chow mein were both really good. I do wish the chow mein had a few vegetables mixed in though -- it was just noodles. The teriyaki sauce was on the sweeter side, which isn't my personal preference since I usually go for more salty or savory flavors, but others might enjoy it. The veggie side was also delicious--nicely cooked and seasoned. The total came out to around $19 with tax, which felt a bit pricey for a lunch spot. Service was great, though! While it's not quite a "must-try" for me when it comes to teriyaki, it was still an overall solid experience.

This is a new spot of asian fusion restaurant located at Hamilton Marketplace. Dine in, outdoor seating, to-go & delivery available. Place is new, nice and clean. Excellent customer service from the two staff at the counter. Food is so hot, fresh, and delicious, amazed that it is still warm even after 4 hours. I highly recommend the steak with fried rice Will come back again.

Burnt Chicken

I was really disappointed with my experience. The teriyaki chicken was clearly burnt, which completely ruined the flavor. I found myself picking at the chicken just to see if there was anything I could actually eat. it's frustrating because that's such a basic quality issue that should be caught before serving. Customers shouldn't be served food in that condition

Teriyaki madness just opened up about a week ago I thought, as I was driving by today for lunch and decided to give it a try. You have choices of white rice, brown rice noodles, and a few other things different types of chicken and some sides. The food was warm and tasty and made fresh. The staff was. There was very friendly and welcoming. I definitely suggest you giving this place to try.

I had the opportunity to attend the preview today and try one of their bowls. They have a lot of different options of proteins to choose from. They offer: chicken, steak, tofu, salmon, and chicken katsu. For the base you can choose: white or brown rice, fried rice or noodles. I ordered the noodles with steak and veggies. I like that you can get their sauce on the side. The quantities are big enough for two meals. I also got some chicken potstickers which were delicious. The owners were onsite and excited to serve their community of Novato. I am planning to bring my family for dinner so they can also try it.

However I do agree that even the spicy has a bit of sweet to it. I got the garlic flavor chicken and got a bit of the spicy sauce on the side, but it had a sweet taste to it. I'm more a spicy person v spicy/ sweet flavor. The chicken Sandwhich also was a bit sweet. However the fries are really good. I just wish the spicy sauce was actually spicy with no sweet. I will say I am looking to come back to try their bulgogi fries. They looked pretty good. Service was quick, staff were friendly. At the start, there was a bit of a communication barrier with our waiter. I had just wanted to order an iced tea, but she kept saying I couldn't unless I ordered from the lunch menu. I explained that I was totally fine paying full price since I wasn't planning to stick to the lunch menu options, but it took a little back and forth to get that sorted. For food, I ordered the tamarind chicken, which was good, and the portion was massive. The coconut rice was delicious, and the tom kha soup was also good. Overall, the food was solid, but nothing that really stood out as amazing. One thing that did concern me was the water jug they brought to the table--it looked like it had black mold underneath. Unfortunately, noticing that while we were eating made the experience feel a bit off-putting. Because of that, I didn't end up eating the leftovers either. For the price, it was just okay overall.

What I didn't realize at the time was the sheer pedigree behind it. It turns out Madcap is Michelin-rated, and Chef Ron Siegel is a celebrity chef. A Top Chef alum who headlined at legendary spots like The French Laundry and Michael Mina. Ironically, I didn't learn any of this from a food blog or Yelp. I heard it from my dentist in Vallejo. Talk about a random convo! As for the food, Chef Siegel's creations are pure joy--a celebration of culinary genius that feels genuinely divine. It's the kind of meal that evokes deep emotion; it really is magical. I can honestly say it's the best restaurant in Marin, Point Reyes included. We paired our meal with a beautiful bottle of sake by Pharrell Williams (yes, you read that right), and to top off an already incredible evening, we got to meet Chef Siegel and take a group photo with him. What a cool dude! Inside the restaurant, the decor was refined and classy, featuring rich dark wood accents and curated artwork. My only minor complaint was the seating - the wooden chair, while stylish, could have been a bit more comfortable. Overall, it was a truly lovely experience.

Unlike the dictionary definition of "madcap" -- wildly impulsive or chaotic -- the exquisite dining experience at this Michelin-starred restaurant is anything but. My experience was calm, intentional, playful, and deeply refined. After living in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2005, I had just learned about Madcap and was thrilled to celebrate a friend's birthday there. From the moment we were greeted by Kim at the host stand -- warm, poised, and genuinely welcoming -- we felt special. Anticipation built immediately. Our four-course prix fixe menu was printed on artisanal, handmade-feeling paper -- textured, elegant, and thoughtful. With a minimalist design aesthetic, every detail serves a purpose and is beautiful in its restraint. The luxury here is subtle but palpable. Large, colorful, whimsical paintings line the walls -- one even reminded me of Jane Fonda as Barbarella. The chopsticks and flatware are distinctive and sculptural. Nothing feels accidental or unintentional. From a 15-page beverage menu, I selected a 2023 Raventós i Blanc Blanc de Blancs Cava from Conca del Riu Anoia, Catalunya. Crisp, celebratory, and the perfect opening note. If you might assume "small courses" won't satisfy, think again. I left completely full. Welcome Snacks Before the first official course, we were surprised with a small welcoming assortment. I couldn't name each component, but they were colorful, beautifully balanced, and layered in flavor and texture -- playful yet precise. A lovely crescendo into what followed. First Course Nicasio Valley egg, lemongrass spuma, pine nuts. We chose to add the optional Black Périgord truffle. When pierced with my spoon, the bright yellow yolk blended like a brushstroke into the white of the egg. The spuma (an airy, savory foam created by aerating a sauce) added a delicate citrus-herbal lift to the richness of the egg. The pine nuts brought delightful contrast texture. Oh, and that exquisite toast! Elegant and harmonious. The delicately-shaved truffle provided a heavenly mouth-feel. Second Course Winter salad, shima aji, orange olive oil or Sunchoke tortelloni, spinach, shiitake, thyme jus One companion chose the vibrant winter salad -- stunning in color and textures including shima aji, a premium Japanese fish. I chose the sunchoke tortelloni. Although I'm usually not a fan of al dente pasta, here it worked beautifully to contrast the creamy filling. The green-tinged spinach tortelloni were visually striking and balanced by the earthy shiitake and fragrant thyme jus. Third Course Mount Lassen trout, abalone & carrot risotto, lobster cream or Flannery beef ribeye, artichoke, Banyuls, black garlic We all chose the trout. The fish was executed perfectly -- caramelized, crisp exterior, yet it flaked effortlessly into large, tender pieces with the fork. The carrot risotto leaned slightly sweet for my palate, though beautifully textured. The tiny slivers of abalone, however, were surprisingly overcooked and chewy. The lobster cream had a thinner, almost broth-like consistency and didn't meaningfully elevate the dish. For reference, Banyuls (used in the ribeye preparation) is a French fortified wine like port from the Roussillon region that creates deep, slightly sweet reductions that complement richer meats. Fourth Course Shiso panna cotta, pineapple vanilla gelée. The panna cotta was softly set, cool, and subtly sweet -- a lovely, light finish. The Japanese mint herb of shiso was subtle. The crumble beneath added wonderful contrast and texture. A small piece of pineapple was firmer than expected, though the overall composition remained balanced and refreshing. With it, I had a decaf Americano. It was so smooth and flavorful I drank it black -- and enjoyed every sip. Post-dessert course We were pleasantly surprised with a pearlized white box of what appeared to be handmade confections: caramel, a sugar-dusted berry gelée, and a ganache-filled chocolate truffle. The unexpected welcome bites and post-dessert confections made the four-course prix fixe feel even more generous and thoughtfully orchestrated. Madcap is an experience of delightful visual artistry and intentional composition. The overall execution, ambiance, and hospitality created a memorable evening. P.S. While I typically eat gluten- and dairy-free, making those substitutions would have fundamentally changed the menu. For this celebratory evening, I chose not to alter the chef's composition. We visited on 2/26/26.
