I appreciate this place but I'm still trying to find my go-to main dish. I like the atmosphere and fast service. The fresh rolls and golden sacks are yummy.

    Pad Thai

We ordered online since no one answered the phone. We ordered #71 Pad Thai with beef and somehow got Tofu and a piece of random meat (i think pork). Disappointing as no one in our family likes tofu. I double confirmed our receipt and we ordered beef; even our box outside said beef written on it.

The Thai food here is always so delicious! Our table ordered potstickers, crab Rangoons, pad see yew with shrimp, pompano fish, and pa-nang with eggplant and pork. Everything was phenomenal!! My personal favorites are the crab rangoons and pad see yew. The restaurant always seems to have plenty of seating available, indoor seating only. I've also seen many people do take-out orders. I'd recommend coming to sit inside to eat as the staff is very friendly! I like all of the decor in the restaurant and everytime I've come in it is clean and tidy. The food is very affordable, we ordered a lot of food for 3 people under $100. Come and eat here if you're looking for some yummy thai food in Novato!

    Duck noodle soup

I have heard so many things about this restaurant, and I really wanted to try it, so I finally convinced my husband to go with me for lunch. I specifically wanted to try the duck noodle soup as it has been recommended to me. We split that and the red curry with steamed egg noodles. Both were unbelievable and some of the best noodle soups that I've had- in the Bay Area. Lunch was super reasonable, too. For both of our dishes, hot tea and tip (20%) our bill was less than $40. It also came with a delicious side salad. This Thai food is legit. Check this place out!

    Moo Kra-Thiam (grilled pork)

Great food, huge value for the price, large menu, fast service. Loved the Tom Kha Kai soup and Thai samosa appetizers. The Moo Kra-Thiam grilled pork was amazing. The Chao Praya noodles were delicious, though I missed vegetables as it was so rich with the delicious green curry. A huge portion enough for two. Ate a ton and costs less than most restaurants.

They have a mean coconut chicken soup. Service is prompt and precise. Can't ask for more.

At the start, there was a bit of a communication barrier with our waiter. I had just wanted to order an iced tea, but she kept saying I couldn't unless I ordered from the lunch menu. I explained that I was totally fine paying full price since I wasn't planning to stick to the lunch menu options, but it took a little back and forth to get that sorted. For food, I ordered the tamarind chicken, which was good, and the portion was massive. The coconut rice was delicious, and the tom kha soup was also good. Overall, the food was solid, but nothing that really stood out as amazing. One thing that did concern me was the water jug they brought to the table--it looked like it had black mold underneath. Unfortunately, noticing that while we were eating made the experience feel a bit off-putting. Because of that, I didn't end up eating the leftovers either. For the price, it was just okay overall.

San Rafael 4th street has a lot to offer - and it's worth checking these spots out. The storefront is inviting and the inside of the restaurant is clean and well organized and appointed. The wine and beer list has few choices - and I would encourage a little more local variety to make it inviting to a wine lover like myself. I was efficiently approached by wait staff and felt welcomed I ordered Pad Woon Sen, which I've never before tried. The food came quickly - a beautiful dish of thin noodles and mushrooms with onions and celery adorned with steak. I finished my plate. Perfect lunch portion. Attentive service. The taste of quality ingredients and pride in their efforts. I will add this to my go-to spots in San Rafael!

The light fixtures are lovely--see photos. The patrons are very friendly and will make pleasant comments. Service was pleasant and attentive.

Recently, we went and had dinner. The food and service were lovely. When the check came out, there was a 15% service charge added - a first in many years of coming here and not noted on the menu, which I believe is a requirement or you can ask to have the service charge removed. That in itself isn't a huge issue because we would normally tip 20% anyway. The issue is that none of the staff mentioned the service charge and on the credit card receipt, the suggested tips were still the normal amounts of 15%, 20%, and 25%. If you didn't notice the service charge, you'd leave a normal tip on top of it. This feels a bit disingenuous as most places charging a service charge will reduce the suggested tip options to something like 3%, 5%, and 7%. Please review your receipt carefully if you dine here!

And the Tom Kha was super sugary and not all balanced - I had to add lots of lime, salt and fish sauce to make it palatable. This location seems to be a constantly rotating Thai restaurant…read more The location presents a couple major issues. It's a decent distance away from the downtown core so walking there is less convenient, not to mention you'd be walking along Washington where it can get a little precarious. The second issue is that there's very little street parking and you really shouldn't take a chance by parking in the lot across the street, which technically is only for the shops in the plaza. The parking is so bad that we're hesitant to even order takeout. The food itself is average, though admittedly we've only had a couple items off the menu. Basil eggplant was the best dish we had. Other than it being a bit oily, the flavors were terrific. The chicken larb is okay - not the best. The chicken chunks are too large and I prefer it more ground. The sauce was reasonable though. The pad see ew is definitely one of the worst we've had in town. No wok hei flavor and just overly sweet with only a single soy sauce note. The best see ew in town is at Lemongrass - try them both and I'm certain you'll agree. Lastly, when you order online there are no options for spice level and they do not allow order notes or special instructions. All of the food will come very mild, which isn't a bad thing if you don't like spice. For the rest of us, it's not great. Although it's a bit farther away, we'll definitely be sticking with Lemongrass as overall the food is better and the parking much simpler, plus you can indicate the spice level on the food here when ordering online.
