Solid food, quick service, small hole in the wall vibes. I walked in at like a 7:30pm on a friday and walked out at 7:40 with my food. The sizing was easily enough for like 1.5 meals depending how hungry you are. Now, nothing amazing stood out from my order, fair game I ordered really basic and was in a rush, but the amount of times it can be oversweatened or just have many small problems is normal, but I don't really have any notes for it either. Like genuine solid food, The ratio for rice and meat is perfect, the sweet-savory is honestly really good (they gave me a sauce packet for more sweetness), and nothing felt old or left sitting out (sometimes the case for these restaurants quickly pushing out food). Solid 8/10, I would come again and make it a quick bite regular if i'm in the area. Price was around $15 for large.

Well decided to come in as I met a very confident owner a while back. Place is cozy but clean. Atmosphere is Hispanic music flowing in the air. Cozy seating for 2 mostly a 6 seat nook and a 4 seat nook facing the windows. Counter staff very friendly and knowledgeable cook staff on ready to get orders. Ordered Teriyaki steak bowl and extra protein for a extra price shrimp. My wife said a good amount for being extra. She was satisfied with her choice. I ordered a combo plate chicken and steak. Nice Lil side salad chopped lettuce with your choice of dressing which comes in a Lil to go cup with lid. Nice. The protein to rice ratio was good not all riced up. Meat cooked well and enough Teriyaki sauce and sauce it self is great most taste a little off. Very satisfying. We order egg rolls. My wife said tasted a Lil watery the sauce it came with counter acts it. Seems the rolls need a Lil flavor. More napkins 1 or 2 per person not being picky Teriyaki gets messy Price to product = 7 Note egg rolls otherwise I would have given higher Cleanliness = 8 Customer service = 8 Plating = 8 Menu = 8 Flavor = 9 I will return would like to try other things on the menu I recommend this place

The teriyaki chicken plate is well balanced at reasonable price. Food taste good. Definitely will come back again. The place is really small. Not a place for dating nor business. Just to get good food for lunch and on the go.

Teriyaki Js is a well known neighborhood quick and affordable eatery, devoted to making teriyaki bowls and plates to satisfy any appetite. Their in-house teriyaki sauce is the cherry on top! I love their bold flavors and how cheap it was! This restaurant is quite small, I got a small window seat, and noticed they had a lot of takeout orders. Regardless of how you order, rest easy knowing you're having excellent food!!

Establishment is very clean both guys working are very polite Reasons for my 2 stars are: *ordered chicken and steak plate got only chicken (and I paid more for this) *change salad to steam veggies wasn't an add on it was to have it instead of ( charged me $2 more) *1/4 of the plate was empty just had the sauce in there *charged me a convenience fee 3.5% to pay w card *portion was small for a ("plate") Overall overpriced, portions are regular size, double checking the order before packing it would be nice and also mentioning for what your charging extra for goes a long way (maybe next customer) Don't intend on returning Paid $29 for a plate and 4 egg rolls that's very pricy You look at the picture and let me know

Today was my first time trying this place. I got the teriyaki burrito. The cashier was very helpful when I told her it was my first time there. The inside of the location is pretty small; maybe it can fit about 15 people. I took my food to go. Once I got home and started to eat, I noticed that the burrito had decent flavor, but I did notice that I was eating more rice than steak meat. I'll try this place again, but I'll try something different on their menu.

Sooo salty! We were driving up north and decided to stop by Teriyaki Js for lunch. We got the chicken teriyaki plate which was good. Beef teriyaki plate ( meat was dry and overcooked) Korean wings combo & buffalo wings. My Korean wings were so salty i couldn't eat more than 2 pcs. It's like they mistakenly added salt instead of sugar to the sauce. Buffalo wings were also on the saltier side also. The fries that came with the combo was good. Hopefully they see this and fix it because the cook was really nice & told us how he branched out and opened his own business after learning the recipes from working elsewhere.

Quick and satisfying meal. Much fresher than Flame Broiler and many more options. The teriyaki sauce is great and had a strong sesame taste. The only reasons for not having 5 stars was there was no bathroom for customers and the dressing for the salad was very mayonnaisey and sweet. read more

I brought my family here for the first time and was very disappointed by the poor quality of their food. I'm not sure how they didn't notice they had burnt the bread on all our burgers. I wouldn't come back here again. $66 on 3 burnt burgers should be a crime. read more

Just ate here & it's soooo good.Found it on Yelp & I live right down the street. Saw it was new and has good reviews & I agree with that! I saw a review saying their food was burnt & dry but mine & my friends was 10/10. The chicken was soft & juicy. The rice was perfectly sticky & veggies were perfectly soft/ fresh. We each got a medium bowl & added veggies & I have leftovers. They give you an extra teriyaki sauce too without having to ask or pay, which is nice. It was $28 for 2 medium teriyaki chicken bowls & added veggies in both. So like $14 each but it would have been like almost $11 without veggies which is not bad at all. McDonald's charges more ... & it's gross & bad for you. They just opened a week ago. The owner was working the counter which I think is always a good sign. He cares about his business & is willing to work. Their other location is in Downey, I haven't been there but they also have almost 5 stars. Small whole in the wall, they have a few booths inside. The place is small and not much room to sit. It's pretty dark so to me it's not necessarily a space for someone looking for something open and spaced out. The food is great. The teriyaki is a sweet teriyaki. Portions are excellent for the bowls however I find the price for the chicken especially boneless and the amount that you get to be a little too little for too much. Rice is nice and fluffy. They do give you hard pieces of lettuce with the salad but other than that I'd go again read more

Recently went there for the first time checked it out and the food is so delicious I always wanna go back teriyaki bowls in three different sizes small medium large so good with portions. Teriyaki Js is pretty spot on for a local teriyaki joint, nothing too fancy, gives you want you want and fast at an affordable price. The service is good and quick, I had a small teriyaki bowl w/ avocado and it was fresh off the grill as soon as I got it. The chicken is tender and the teriyaki sauce really livens up the bowl *try the spicy teriyaki sauce for a real kick!*. I don't want to slander the white rice but I will say it was a bit more on the clumpy and sticky side, it's all kinda just clumped together and it didn't allow for the sauce to really drip and soak into the rest of the bowl, maybe just a little less water in the rice cooker and it'll be top notch. I use to like this teriyaki place and would go here often. But after today I'll never return back. I ordered a half and half plate with veggies and the portion size was for a child. They skimped me badly yet they charged me $15. Pretty pissed about that. I'm still hungry. I didn't even waste my time going back to complain. First time going food was very good quality and the girl in the front was very nice with good customer service! New to the area and was craving a teriyaki bowl and extra points for having brown rice with good quality veggies the veggies were extra but it was worth it. Friendly customer service, but a bit disappointed with the quality of food. Steak teriyaki plate was underwhelming. Meat tasted cheap, chewy, and drenched in teriyaki sauce. Side salad was a spoonful of lettuce with one big cucumber slice. Photos from past reviews showed avocados in the salad. A credit charge of .95 cent was also added without notification from employee. Found this place via Yelp and am so glad I did. We were craving something more on the healthy side so decided to come and check out Teriyaki Js. I am so happy we did. The food is delicious. Their teriyaki sauce is really good and so tasty. They are very generous with their portions and give extra sauce. Way better than any other teriyaki spot I've been too so far. Teriyaki Js is FIRE. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this gem after she was getting her nails done , we decided to check it out. We got a teriyaki bowl and the teriyaki fries and both were VERY tasty! Come inside and meet the man J himself! He's such a nice and understanding guy as the owner he's able to recommend you something you'll love. Ambiance is great. Quick easy and friendly service. If you're in the area. I was browsing on yelp and I saw this place so close to my house with really good reviews. I got excited because since I moved to Downey, I haven't found a really good teriyaki spot. I came here for lunch and was greeted by the cashier. I ordered a chicken teriyaki salad with some brown rice. It came out pretty quickly and tasted really fresh. It was presented nicely as well. I think the total around me about $10 for the bowl and an extra three dollars for the brown rice. The portion size was pretty generous. I definitely would recommend coming here and I'll be here again on the regular. read more

I'm always skeptical of new spots with super high reviews but this place was great! Menu all looked and read real good! We ended up trying the 3 meat super fries with hot Cheetos.... very impressed. Also tried the chicken teriyaki bowl and a pineapple bacon grilled chicken sandwich. All delicious, cooked to perfection. Soft grilled chicken with their special sauce was great. I was able to replace the fries in My combo for onion rings and those were a nice touch. Great customer service, the girl that took our order explained all their dishes and combo options. We will definitely be back when we're in the area. read more

My order: Super Frys with steak, steak bowl with avocado, half and half bowl with steak and chicken. Added avocado to the bowls and veggies to one. 1. Super Frys: This plate is generous! The meat is savory, thinly sliced, no fat or nerves on the meat. All the flavors compliment each other. It's enough for at least 2-3 people. 2. Steak bowl with avocado: the rice is cooked perfectly and the steak just as delicious as it was on the Super Frys. 3. Chicken bowl with brown rice and veggies for my daughter. She said the chicken was tender and juicy. She really enjoyed the sauce. Overall a wonderful experience from the welcoming upon entering to the last bite. I was really impressed by the variety of items like Tofu, brown rice, veggies, shrimp, amazing looking burgers, chicken tenders and more. There's something for everyone! Today was an especially nice visit! The atmosphere was perfect--good music, entertainment on the TV, and the A/C was at a comfortable temperature (not too cold, which we appreciated). The vanilla smoothie this time and it was delicious. I didn't catch her name, but I want to give a huge thank you to the girl at the front register; she was very kind and welcoming. We left around 4:40 PM, and another team member even held the door open for us on our way out. It's those small gestures that make a big difference. Wow! Every bite was delicious! I loved the seasonings! Salty goodness from the pork belly, the Romanian sleeveless sausage, "Mici" made from beef and pork was perfectly seasoned and paired well with mustard, and the ribs were tender and fell right off the bones. I recently visited Teriyaki J, and I have to say, it's hands down the best chicken teriyaki I've had in a long time! The chicken was perfectly grilled, juicy, and packed with flavor. What really stood out were their incredible sauces--seriously next level! Whether you're into sweet, spicy, or something in between, they've got you covered. Beyond the food, the customer service was fantastic. The staff was so friendly and attentive, making sure everything was just right. They really went the extra mile to make sure we felt welcome. The restaurant was clean, and the food came out quickly! If you're a fan of teriyaki, or just love great food and service, I highly recommend giving this place a try.
