Always amazing, delicious Chicken teriyaki sandwich. I did not know they had Pibb Extra, but it kind of tasted stale. The fries were hot and crispy. The sriracha tasted different too. I understand that there's a shortage with the company that makes it. The service is friendly and fast. They had a tv playing Super Mario Bros movie. Overall, a good experience with a small parking lot. read more

I spontaneously stumbled across Teriyaki J's when it first opened years ago. I recall at the time being on the hunt for delicious and rational priced teriyaki. The yelp algorithm suggested Js and I subconsciously accepted its suggestion. I'm happy I did. This family-run establishment has maintained its great service and their food remains inviting. So if you're ever searching for some good teriyaki or burger, I encourage you to experience this place. read more

*** really great Japanese-inspired, HOMEMADE Teriyaki sauce on juicy chicken & fresh shrimp in Downey, CA *** ENVIRONMENT Teriyaki Js is located in the strip mall on the southeast corner of Paramount and Telegraph Boulevards. SERVICE Service with a smile in their eyes because... COVID-19 masks were on (2/26/21). Lol. The young lady who took my order brought my order outside to me. Appreciated! MY FAVORITE PART... The teriyaki sauce! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... Just the male transient camped out a few doors down that would not stop staring at me while I waited outside for my food. THE GRUB It's not on the menu exactly like this, but you can request grilled shrimp over fried shrimp for the teriyaki chicken & shrimp plate ($10.99). Everything was made to order, hot and fresh, and very delicious. I love sesame seeds & sliced green onions on top - which they'll ask if you want if you order in person. The eggrolls ($2.99) were super delish too! Cash or plastic is accepted. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB I don't recall a kids menu. That won't deter me from order a plate for my kiddos to share in the future. PARKING There is free parking in a shared business lot. TIP They still have a Yelp check-in offer for a free drink with the purchase of any entree. OVERALL Teriyaki Js is a very welcome addition for a refreshing change in the City of Downey. They opened their doors during the COVID pandemic... if that isn't the American dream, I don't know what is! | Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Environment: 4 | Price: 5 | read more

Young lady at the counter was friendly n helpful. Ordered the chicken n beef teriyaki. Chicken was burnt n tough, the beef was salty, tasted almost like it was left marinating way too long. Expected better quality of food. Tokyo grill in Carson is great spot the tikiyaki in orange is great too. No restrooms as well. $25 for a combo meal. Later on that night me and the rest of our co workers felt nauseous. read more

My go to chicken teriyaki place. I like to call in and pick up my order, they're always super quick and have it ready for me before I get there. I usually order the chicken teriyaki or beef teriyaki and fries. Also the girl that works in front is always so nice and helpful. read more

Actually really good the sauce chicken brown rice n veggies . I ordered the plate . Service was fast and girl in front sweet pretty and nice. It's a small place cute thow. Reason I gave 4 and not 5 is cause I asked for half rice half veggies and they gave me more rice and also the zucchini wasn't cut properly it was huge and barely any broccoli. Next time I'll order a salmon salad or a bowl with only veggies. The sauce was amazing ingredients fresh and wait time was fast . I definitely will return read more

We like the teriyaki here. We usually get the teriyaki chicken burger. Super good and they give you lots of chicken. We also get the teriyaki bowls bc they are full of flavorful chicken with rice. You must try their fluffy not oily crips onion rings...soos yummy and good! Their food, flavor and portions are always consistent! The place is kind of small so a lot of orders are to go. You can still eat there though but only about 10-15 people for on tables and chairs. Place your order to go and check it out.. read more

My family and I were exited to go to this place because of how the food looked and the reviews. About two hours after we ate, my son got food poisoning and so did I. He had the teriyaki chicken burger and I had a bowl. It was delicious, but clearly something was off. My youngest son didn't get sick, he had fried chicken tenders and fries. This is a good option if you want a high quality, elevated version of Waba Grill or Flame Broiler (they also have burgers and wings). Unlike a chain fast food place, this place is fresh and flavorful, overall good quality food. The service was good, the cashier made sure we had everything we needed and it didn't take a very long time for the food to come out. It is a small place and the seating is a bit cramped so if you have a lot of people I would recommend taking your food to go. read more

Teriyaki J’s - Chicken Teriyaki Bowl and Steak Teriyaki Bowl - Japanese Near Me - Downey, California

I really like the pork plate/bowls here. The teriyaki sauce is delicious and the service is always amazing. The steak bowl is pretty salty because the meat is already marinated in sauce so I prefer the pork. The pork isn't marinated in teriyaki sauce (only topped with the sauce) so it's much better. The reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is the price and because their brown rice is not brown rice. It tastes like white + brown rice because it's still really sticky & you can see both types of rice! If I'm getting charged for additional brown rice, I expect full brown rice.. read more

Service is always so friendly! This place is a little bit of a drive and it's out of my way but it's worth it for great customer service like that. Food is delicious. Ordered the teriyaki chicken and shrimp plate.
