I was told by a friend that this place was alright. I decided to give it a try. I ordered the chicken Pho. First off, the order took them forever to prepare. Why? Were they boiling the bones while I waited? Other customers came and went with their orders while I waited. After about 20 minutes they finally brought out the order. I went home and put everything together in a big bowl and sat down to eat. OMG the noodles were soggy and overcooked and the broth was watery and not good at all. Instead of eating it I picked out the chicken which I fed to my dog. The rest went into the toilet and got flushed. I will never eat pho from this restaurant again. This place was a great find and we weren't even really looking. My wife and I met up to grab lunch and we ended up in the complex where this is located. She wasn't in the food for soup at Safeway or a sandwich from Jersey Mike's so we wandered in here. The place look clean and and ambiance was nice but the winning moment for me was when I saw what some of the other patrons were eating and was instantly impressed. The Chicken Katsu was so big I decided on the spot that I was ordering that, It also came with a bunch of Tempura shrimp, which was pretty awesome. The other thing I liked was that my meal came with cole slaw rather than the standard iceberg lettuce salad with the same salad dressing that they serve at every other teriyaki joint int he world. I think that cole slaw is a much better compliment to this kind of food and it tasted great. My wife ordered beef teriyaki with a shrimp skewer and hers also tasted great. the Katsu was prepared perfectly which is always a treat since many places overcook it and dry it out. The service was friendly and helpful and the meal came with complimentary soup. The only negative point was when I found lipstick on my soup mug and it was fresh enough that it wiped off on my napkin. I can let that go though as a one-off problem. This is my favorite place to eat teriyaki! The owner is very kind and generous. They give huge portions I can barely finish. I love how they always have complimentary chicken and tofu soup for you to sip on as you wait for your food. My favorite dish is the chicken yakisoba and they're so nice sometimes you can customize it like using chicken katsu in it. Very nice people, and the place is very clean. DO NOT ORDER TO GO. I've been a frequent customer here since they opened. I used to LOVE their food. In fact, I loved it so much, I was an employee (waitress) for 9 months here. That being said, I have received nothing but awful service every time I visit. My family is very busy (all four of us have jobs and two of us go to school too) so we order here about once a week. You have to be extremely specific with your order and even ask explicitly for teriyaki sauce and coleslaw sauce when you order the coleslaw. If you call and ask about it, they just say "come back and get it" and hardly apologize. Talk about frustrating! I haven't eaten in the dining room for a while, so I can't speak on that. Okay. I've just got to say. BEEF.SHORT.RIBS. If you like thick, juicy, and flavorful short ribs that come in massive portions, look no further. Anytime I'm craving this (which can admittedly be a borderline unhealthy amount) I always go to Teriyaki & Pho. The sushi (when the chef is actually there) is also really good and fresh. The chicken teriyaki is decent, I would say, but they still live up to massive portion sizes. The chicken could be of better quality, though. The short of it: great portion sizes in comparison to the price. If you dine in, your food is brought out on a nice hot plate. There was free miso and chicken soup today (don't know if that's a day to day thing) and great service. Will gladly be back. The longer version: Every time I drive by this place it always was open. Even on a Sunday! My girlfriend and I decided to stop in for once and was pleasantly surprised by the interior. Very clean, lots of seating, and the tables were all well stocked. We looked at the many options and opted for gyozas (8pc), broccoli beef for her, and chicken and beef teriyaki for me. The wait wasn't too long and with football on the TVs, we had something to watch. The gyoza came out quick for the appetizer with the two plates weren't too long after that. They arrived on sizzling hot plates in heaping amounts. After asked if there was anything else we needed, she was very happy to grab us some water and the rest is tasty history. It was a very pleasant first time experience. After reading a couple other reviews, the last thing I'll say is if you're a person who has special dietary requirements, the burden falls on you to check that stuff out first and ask those questions. We loved this place when it first opened, great stop before our weekly grocery run to Safeway. Went there last night and it was different. They no longer have a slaw type salad, cooked cabbage with carrot instead. I love cooked cabbage but there was no way my husband would even touch it. They have complimentary miso soup that I have drank before when waiting for my meal, but last night the miso was warm. I was afraid to drink it, thinking it was the perfect temp for germs growth. We had the chicken yakisoba and the beef yakisoba with a side of gyozas for our family of four and had enough left over for another meal! The food was tasty, but the beef was a bit chewy and the chicken had more fat than I like. The complimentary tea was great and the best part was the awesome chicken soup included with the meal. The first time we can, we tipped and his words were "this is how much you gonna tip?" And I said yes and he's like this is your total and 3 times told me my total.... We ate and left had no water and would just hover over you making us feel uncomfortable.... 2 experience was worse! We paid and of course he had to ask 3 times is this all your gonna tip. We sat down and my sister got up to get soup for the both of us. He told us we only bought one plate so we only get one cup of soup. My sister told him I'll pay for the second cup $1.50 when she sat down he ran over to our table and started aggressively telling her she needs to come to the register to pay. The bowl of pho they serve is the size of a men's professional size basketball, more or less, and my girlfriend and I split their other dishes. There is self-serve, complimentary soup (2 varieties) and hot tea to enjoy while waiting. A large variety of condiments are available, also self-serve. Extremely rude owner. Make sure you don't spill any food on the floor. I was carrying a full bowl of hot soup and accidentally spilled a few drops on the way back to my table. My plan was to take the extremely hot soup to my girlfriend who waiting for it, then come back and clean the soup I spilled. The man (I assume to be the owner) proceeded to yell "hey!" About 5 times at me because he thought I wasn't going to clean the soup up. I dropped the soup off and made my way back to where I accidentally spilled to find the man using a napkin to clean up the few drops. I apologized and asked if I could help in which he completely ignored me and turned his back. I went back to my table feeling embarrassed since the owner made a big scene and with a burnt hand from the soup that spilled onto my hand then the floor. I have never been yelled at by business owners for accidentally spilling a few drops of soup. Food was 2.5 out of 5. Nothing special really. I got the lunch chicken teriyaki.
