We really wanted to like our meal - we had such high hopes but it was a fail. Decor & vibe was great so we started off great but once we tried to place our order is where it started to dip downhill. We 1st ordered apps that included guacamole with shrimp, fried calamari & the octopus. Drinks looked great but it was late mid-week so we decided to pass & stick to water.... the server enthusiasm was noticeably different from that point... We then attempted to order our entrees - shrimp tacos, 1 steak fajita & 1 shrimp however we are allergic to peppers & zucchini so we asked if it could be made with just the onions....a simple request especially made due to a food allergy & we were told NO - no from the waitress as well as the chef/kitchen! Their position is that the vegs are cooked together & could not be separated!?! Maybe these items are cooked earlier? Weird & really put a damper on things.... we then had to changed our order to shrimp tacos, the salmon dish - just grilled with no pineapple glaze & the skirt steak no cheese. Apps arrived staggered- Guacamole was standard/store bought with bits of shrimp added to the top, & the octopus was chewy as if it was dipped on a fryer. We love octopus & knows the consistency this was definitely sliced very thin & fried... I have seen pics of this dish the pieces were large & chunks of octopus ours was slivers & just sliced too thin...the dish was ok - we definitely would not order it again & the fried calamari never came out. After the issue with ordering the fajitas our food took some time to come out it was staggered so we did not ask for the calamari once it never came out. Our entrees: Shrimp taco was ok just 2 for $17 - only complaint is the guacamole was stored bought quality definitely not made fresh as we make it at home & this definitely was not. Steak was ordered medium rare - came out completely over cooked & chard - flavor was ok but chard. The salmon - let's just say I have never had salmon so cooked on the outside but not overdone on the inside...I believe they must have drop it in a fryer b/c the outer crust was hard & crunchy (hard to even cut with a fork) but the inside was soft...definitely not something I would order again just due to the way it is cooked. Overall the place is pricey for the quality of food & lack of accommodations. We definitely are willing to pay for grass-fed, organic etc but the execution of the dishes & really lack of accommodating for a food allergy in this day in age is just unheard of. I would not be frequenting the restaurant again even though the health conscience food choices were a big draw for us (grass-fed& organic). This was one of the main reasons why we decided to try the place - driving from a town away. They definitely lost us at not able to accommodate a food allergy & the over all food taste & how it was prepared. read more

The first time we had ever been there with no expectations. We ordered a bunch of starters and the food was INCREDIBLE. I also had the sangria which was also delicious. We ordered the churros for dessert which are stuffed with cream omg and have dipping sauce. It was mid week so it was low key in there but the vibe was cool and unique. We will be back. read more

What a joke! We have tried to give this place a shot multiple times and every time the experience is offensive for the prices. Food and drinks are shamelessly overpriced. Quick to offer you more expensive drinks and even quicker to rush you out as soon as they feel you are done spending - no matter how large your tab already is... It has become VERY clear that the management does not care about the customer in the slightest and only about their money. They have deservedly earned a local reputation for padding tabs, overcharging and underdelivering. Not to mention I witnessed very questionable alcohol service and health code violations before my very eyes. They also have an obviously young and inexperienced manager with an ego through the roof. Seems to think he is fooling everyone, but always comes off as arrogant and insincere... Decor is all over the place. The mix of themes end up making it a headache. Talk about tacky! It is clear that the people who give it great reviews are either from people who are wealthy enough to be able to disregard the blatant price-gouging or are just too damn forgiving. read more

Surprised by the low ratings. We've been coming here since it opened and I'm obsessed. The drinks are fabulous and I love the food! Faves are the tacos, salads and margaritas that cannot be beat. Ahi Tuna Taco's was not a good choice, basically tasteless mushy tuna with a heaping of avocado on top of a taco shell. Staff was very attentive. no problem there. Perhaps I caught kitchen on a bad day, don't live in the area so I probably won't be able to give them another chance. read more

Impressed w the quality of the food (wild fish, grass-fed meats, organic options), and the meals are delicious. Be forewarned that the drink menu doesn't list prices - I ordered a Clase Azul and soda and it was $27 which seemed outrageous to me but maybe I'm cheap, who knows . I find the service to be hit or miss, and generally feel somewhat rushed in there despite it typically being half empty when I go. It's a solid meh from me - the food is great but the service and drink prices throw me a bit. That said, it's hard to find quality food in ridge so I'll be back. read more

Yeah man, Yelp don't lie. There's no doubt this place has two big problems: crummy waitstaff and quite the price tag. But gosh-dammit, the food is pretty good! Our waiter was more lost in space than Dr Zachary Smith...it was a colossal mess for sure. Even the drinks took like 25 minutes to arrive. The food was over an hour at least. But I really enjoyed the nachos, the tacos, empanadas and such and such. Someone said the nacho cheese was a congealed mess...maybe so, but I can't stop thinking about shoveling more of those chips in my mouth. Willing to give it a second shot. read more

A terrible experience. I went with my friend this past Saturday for a drink. We sat on the bar and one of the bartender approached us with lots of personal questions, and he was disrespectful with one of the questions he was asking. Drinks were so expensive. 2 margaritas : $50.00 house tequila. It had to be a very bad tequila because the next day we both woke up with a horrible headache. They also were not good. Very sour . I ordered a strawberry margarita and it tasted like lime juice only. Driving break and found this little place. Excellent margaritas and quant bar. Must recommend the beef burritos, comes with a really nice salad too. Interior seating is cozy and offer an outdoor option too. Plenty of parking too. Drinks are on the pricey side so make sure you are aware of what you order, it add up fast! read more

One and a half hours and im still waiting for our food. If i knew it would take this long, i wouldve brought a tent and sleeping bag. And it wasnt just my table, but the whole section. Was not in the mood for tequila (I know, why did we go here??), so I can't speak to the drinks, but our food was good and the service was very friendly and accommodating. I tried the guacamole and ordered nachos for my meal. Nachos are served with black bean purée, cheese, guacamole, etc. I ordered chicken on top and loved it! Housed the whole thing. I'm going to echo a lot of others here I'm sure. We had the classic margaritas, the classic gauc, the paella Valencia, and the grass fed ribeye. To start the margaritas were delicious once we got them. (About 20 minutes after we ordered them) Our guacamole was run to the wrong table, so we wound up not getting it for a solid 20 minutes either. Once we had it we found it lacking both salt and line juice. We were warned when ordering that the paella would take 25 minutes as they cooked it fresh. We were stoked about this, 35 minutes later a table next to us got their paella even though they ordered after us. 50 minutes after ordering we got the paella and steak. The paella had no saffron, no peas, and was closer to tomato rice with seafood than it was paella. My steak was delicious, but over cooked. The poblano mashed potatoes tasted nothing like poblanos, but were seasoned nicely. The onion straws we not at all seasoned, no salt no pepper, uneven batter. At $70 a person I can go to bailey's or lucs and have an absolutely phenomenal meal, doubt this place will get another shot considering the price point, low quality of food, and poor service. read more

I would give if five stars, but would want more than one experience. I had my first meal their last night, and every aspect was outstanding. My guest and I had a pitcher of Sangria and shared four small plates - empanadas, octopus tacos, avocado & palm, and artichokes. All were outstanding. The presentation of the avocado dish was particularly impressive. We finished with a shared tres leches, that was the best iteration of this dish I've ever had. The location and ambiance were delightful. We sat near the fireplace before the dinner rush. Service was attentive but never oppressive. The menu strays far from just Mexican and could perhaps best be described as Mexican-inspired fusion. I think even a conservative palette would find something appealing Note that the restaurant is in the CVS shopping center and hard to spot from Main Street but easy to find once past CVS. So take the leap of faith and drive into the shopping center. If you are familiar with Truck in Bedford, this menu is more varied and more creative and the acoustics are much better. My recent meals at Truck at peak have been miserable cacophonies. Never again. read more

The food here is disgusting. The blackened shrimp tacos were slimy and appeared to be boiled, the calamari came out cold to the touch (we asked for another one and they just reheated it to the point it was rubbery), and the kids tacos never came until after we finished eating and asked for the check. My husband and I have been here twice now - once just for drinks, once for food. First, the positive: drinks are always delicious, well balanced, and artfully made. Thumbs up to the bartenders. The food, however, is overpriced and mediocre at best. We ordered a few appetizers to share: the California nachos, octopus tacos, and the kale salad. The hostess enthusiastically mentioned that their vegetables were organic and meats grass fed, which is awesome and may account for the higher prices. Simply put though, the food was just not substantial enough to warrant the prices. The "California" nachos ended up being an oddly layered dip of sorts with barely a teaspoon of guacamole in the center -- isn't avocado the big draw on "California" nachos? There were a few chips stuck into the center of the dip, but when I hear "nachos", I think of corn chips covered in an array of cheese, tomatoes, beans, sour cream, etc. This dip was so thickly layered that by the time we got to some portions of it, it was cold and the cheese congealed. This was $15. The appetizer octopus tacos (2) were also rather disappointing - they were really "arugula" tacos with 3 or 4 small rounds of octopus in each, for $16. I'm all for fresh and quality ingredients, but paying so much for crumbs was hard to swallow (pun intended). My final verdict would be to go here for the drinks, but go elsewhere for food. read more

Didn't even get as far as ordering food. We were sat at a table that had a thing (food maybe?) stuck to the side of the table. The waiter brings menus and it had food all over it. I asked for another menu and he (in a huff) brings two more. They were covered in food too. When I noticed the big glob of food stuck to the glass on the table that is meant for the water we decided to go. If the front of house looks like this, then what does that back look like? I wished I had taken pictures now. While sitting there I read a review that someone had gotten food poisoning. Not surprised. We left and will never return. Tried the ahi tuna tostada and the guacamole and chips. Both dishes were as advertised, quality on point. Great variety on the menu with very friendly staff. First meal here - so I'm judging this place on only one experience. The quesadillas are killer! This place is a complete scam! The food came overcooked and tough. The manager, Jake, is horrible. When the food came overcooked, the manager offered to compensate with a free meal for the next time. When we went back the next time, we were completely scammed. The food was bad again. Not only that, but they wanted to charge us for the entire meal, claiming they never promised compensation! My husband and I have been waiting to try this restaurant for quite some time and finally got around to it. Their happy hour menu is great! Can't beat 2-6pm! We had Andy as our bartender, he was fantastic! Very friendly, personable, and he really made our first experience great. We had mezcal margaritas, they were fresh which is so important! You can tell they don't use a sour mix, all fresh lime juice and beautifully balanced. The steak empanadas had so much flavor, the buffalo chicken flautas were DEVINE and the grilled corn was delicious. If you are considering this restaurant, definitely do it. Andy and kyndra are the best bartenders in town. I've been all over. Lived here for 20 years and I've been to some good places. But nothing beats tequila escape. Unfortunately, this was the worst dining experience we have ever had. After 1 hour and 15 minutes we got up and left without having had dinner. We ordered two drinks which came at a reasonable rate however we ordered a mere 3 small plates. The avocado and chips came out within 10 minutes but the small plates never made it out. The waitress seemed to always us avoid never once acknowledging us nor that the kitchen may be backed up or offering us any explanation. With a 7:45pm reservation we decided to get up and walk out at 9:05pm. It is the first time that has ever happened and we will certainly never return to this establishment. read more

We went here for the first time tonight. This place is fun fun fun! The food was very good, very imaginative Mexican/southwestern. The margaritas were served in a flaming pitcher (sounds ridiculous, but was really amazing) and were tasty and strong. We did not experience any of the service problems that others have mentioned even though the place was packed with a line out the door. We ordered all from the small plates menu - 7 dishes for 4 people- and that worked out well, we had a bit of food left over. That gave us a chance to try a bunch of different stuff and they were all winners. Can't wait to go back even though it is a bit of a drive for us. Fun new discovery in Ridgefield. Don't let the name fool you, much higher quality than the name leads you to believe. Creative and fun menu, with nice ambiance, right off of Main Street. Great cocktail selection, with diverse choices. Our recommendations would suggest the Cucumber Jalapeño Margaritas, Cucumber Mint Martini and Pisco Sour. Enjoyed the lobster guacamole (lots of Lobster options on the menu, solid plus!) and other apps. Entree favorite was the shrimp and lobster enchiladas, but the four of us all enjoyed our plates. As a new restaurant in town this deserves your attention. Plenty of quality choices for whatever you seek. We will be back to further explore their menus. read more
