While it's a bit weird to have a wine tasting room in a hotel, it turns out the owner has a joint venture with some other folks to actually make wine which, as it turns out, isn't at all bad. This room off of the outside cantina restaurant used to be the living quarters of the hotel owner, and before being turned into a tasting room served as the hotel's gym. This curiosity of a place inside the hotel adds just another dimension to the coolness of the Mission Inn. As a bonus, if you buy a bottle there you can enjoy it in one of their restaurants free of corkage. On a final note, the best part of this tasting room wasn't the wine or the ambience, it was John the sommelier, happily pouring and informing with a relish all things trivial about the Inn. He was apparently filling in at the time, so consider yourself lucky if he is there when you drop in, which I do recommend.

Such a fun time!! Nancy was a wealth of knowledge not only about wine but about all sorts of things "Riverside". The architecture and history is fascinating and beautiful. We want to come back to the Mission Inn for a tour. Try a wine tasting of Roberts Irvine wines! Well worth the money and they have a group of other bottled wines at various price points that are worth looking at. We bought the Chardonnay, because it's so delicious, and a.bottle of Zinfandel.

Ladies are working hard. Drop by and say hello.

Great place for holiday cheer! Bring your friends. They have all kinds of tequila. Stay a while for the chit chat.

Enjoying a four flight wine tasting. Wine are superb!

We had a grandfathered in membership and they wanted me to switch over when they moved. I didn't switch over because the prices were triple what I was paying before. Because of the close and being pregnant, my wine accumulated and I was owed a bunch of wine bottles. I was only able to collect 6 at a time because of a new limit. I tried going back and was hit with a "under new ownership." This winery has gone down since the initial switch in ownership, and even more now. Service has gone down, the ambiance isn't the same, and they don't honor anything. I called multiple times and they just brush everything I was saying off and use the "new management" or "new ownership" excuse. It's quite a drive for me, so I don't like to just pop in because the schedule is all over the place. We've shown up before when it was supposed to be open, just for it to be closed. I pretty much gave up at this point, and am deeply disappointed that I paid all this money for something I didn't receive. I do not recommend this winery. Just take the extra few minutes drive to Temecula for a better experience.

Recently took the 90-minute historical tour. Well worth the Mo et and time. I learned so much and saw more than I had ever seen. I'll share some photos. Our guide was knowledgeable, funny and relatable. The Festival of Lights is the highlight of the year. It is easily one of the top holiday light shows in the country. Sure, it draws large crowds and park g is a bear, but it is worth it. This year, my 87-year old Mom and I spent time watching the lights go up early November and made it our goal to walk around, inside and out, at different times of day. We had unbelievable views with very few people. So out November on your calendar for early lights without crowds. The food is the downfall; expensive, only meh-to disappointing in flavor and presentation. Plenty of great restaurants walking distance from the mission. Spend your money on a hotel room, a tour and just a free outing for photography and taking it all in.

At 11:30 they texted me stating there was no 1pm tour and that they combined the two tours together as per an email. I received no prior notice or email of the change in time. No one would call me back to discuss their issue. I now have been charged for a tip and tour that I never got to do and they will not respond in regards to my money back. They had texted to change my tour to Sunday but I am only in town for the one day as I explained to them. This is the most unprofessional company I've ever experienced. They are frauds and thieves.
