It was my first time checking out the Game Lab. I had a lot of fun and for $25 worth of credits (had a few left over too) my partner and I were able to play for over 2 hours. There's a huge selection of games to play including VR ones, and aside from the VR games which were about $5 per play per person, I found them generally all fairly priced. Love that it's open so late, but be careful as a lot of sketchy people loiter in this area after dark unfortunately. I mostly had a great experience, with a few hiccups along the way. Firstly, there's a security guard at the entrance doing bag checks. He was... nice? But also weirdly pushy. I didn't realize it was a no outside food/drink allowed establishment so I was carrying my leftovers from the Food Lab. I tried to tell him I understood the rule and just wanted to put my food in the car, but he kept trying to usher me inside, while trying to get me to leave my stuff outside and saying that no one wants my drink... I think he may have been trying to be nice but I found it a little weird. Parking was a mess. We parked in the structure and got our ticket validated at the Food Lab and were told by the attendant that every hour over 90 minutes it'd be $1.25. I learned while trying to leave that it was apparently $10 flat, which was pretty annoying. I think if you get there after 7PM it's just $10 if you go over 90 minutes or don't get your ticket validated (maybe??). I would say park on the street instead, but the area gets a lot of break-ins, so idk... Lastly, there were a few times the games would take your swipe and not give you a credit, but you can call someone over and they'll just refund you the credits. Staff didn't fuss about it at all which was really appreciated!

After eating lunch at the Riverside Food Lab, we had to look inside to see what this Arcade was all about. There is a plethora of fun games such as DDR, guitar hero, pinball machines, basketball shots, air hockey, racing, first shooter, old school arcade, etc. My husband and I bought a $25 game card each and we were occupied for almost 2 hours just embracing our inner child. The credits go a long way for what you pay for which is awesome. They also have a bar with some bar bites. Will have to come back to try out the drinks and food. I did taste a funnel cake fry from my sister's stash, but it was a bit burnt. Overall, I love the atmosphere of the dark gaming hallway with all the neon lights and arcade games being the source of light. Very fun and engaging for people of all ages!

I almost didn't come in here out of sheer efforts to keep my kid away from excessive gaming, but I couldn't resist and we needed to pass the time. First off this place is super easy to navigate. All games are operated with a card that you can load with $ - so, for 80's folks who were used to exchanging dollars for quarters, that's a thing of the past. Walking in gives you the assurance of safety as your bag is checked upon entry. This is family friendly and date-night friendly. The variety of games is great! They range from old school 80's (pac man, galaga, pinball and more) to late 90's and early 00's (dance revolution and mortal kombat). There's definitely something for everyone. As a mother, I appreciated that there were wipies to clean your hands before and after game use. Bonus! If I'm in the area again, I would definitely come back.

Located right next to the riverside food lab and the fox theater. A smaller venue, very active and loud arcade ambiance. I enjoyed some of the older arcade games ones that I used to play back in the 90s. Upon entry you use the kiosks to get a game card. Various price ranges you can load. Separate seating area with long tables and bench's. Also a bar area in the back. Some of the games would break down mid play but the attendants were very nice to make sure you didn't lose your game. They'd have to assist a lot of guests who were experiencing this. But we had great service. Really enjoyed a quick getaway while we were killing time. Worth checking out when you're in the area.

    My favorites of all time!

Tons of games to choose from and reasonable rates to pay. For a $10 card, you can play at least 10 games, of course depending on what you choose since all games are different amounts of credits ranging from 5-25 each play. There is something for everyone!

Lots of fun and old school games. Nice & fresh inside which is a plus. Chill place to hang out. Bar is at the back of the place. Bathroom super cute! Walls are decorated with game characters which is super cool. Computers for the online games I'm assuming. Clean bathrooms.

While walking by we saw this arcade and had to go inside and explore. This is a five star arcade for one main reason alone - they have pinball machines. Most arcades only have the big full interaction arcade games but this place has it all. Awesome time Awesome fun.

One of the coolest places in Riverside! I've been pumping quarters into arcade games since I was a kid but I never seemed to have enough to finish whatever game I was playing. Thanks to Riverside Game Lab and the fact I'm employed I can relive my childhood and finish the games I never got to (*cough cough X-Men Arcade*). Located at the Fox Riverside right next to the Food Lab, the Riverside Game Lab is large space chock full of arcade games, pinball, skee ball, pop shot basketball and more! There is also food and a full service bar in the back. Once you walk in you can use the machine Or further down to your left is a counter where you can purchase or fill a refillable game card. They used to use tokens but recently switched to the card method. To play the games you hold the card near the reader like you would a credit card and voila! Prices for the games are pretty decent. When it was tokens, most games were about 50cents a play. It's a bit more to gauge the cost but your money still seems to go a long way. Note: The bigger the game, the more credits it'll eat (looking at you HALO). I've never got food or beverages, but I'm not there to play games not eat or drink. Nice selection though! In the end I can't recommend Riverside Game Lab enough. It's a place you can take a date or your family and you can spend a few hours there in the blink of an eye. If you want to scratch that classic video game itch this is the place for you. Highly recommended!

Parking: Nearby street parking as well as adjacent parking structure--prices vary per day, but generally free whenever I've come. Ambience: Decently sized arcade with your standard pinball / fighter / DDR games, but also a good variety of more interesting options including virtual reality, 4-player Pac Man, Guitar Hero, etc. Includes an indoor bar. Pay via card that you load with points near machines by front entrance. Pricing: $20 per person will get you about 30-100 minutes of gameplay, depending on which games you choose.

MELTY BLOOD BEING PROJECTED ALL OVER THE HUGE WALLS? Already instant 5 stars from me. Kudos to this place for not be the stereotypical "normie" barcade with just a couple "retro" Pac Man machines and only western titles that attract cringe washed out millennial "wow hehe I'm such a nerd/gamer type". Anyways. They also had a Granblue Versus game going on and people brought their own fight sticks. I went during Anime Riverside so they had some anime themed drinks as well, based off of Poke'mon, Demon Slayer, etc. It did get PRETTY packed, but it was an after party for the con. They also had some VR games, beat saber, Groove Coaster, yes the retro game cabinets, pinball and lots more. Gonna have to stop by again when it isn't super fisted. PS. Thanks to the Melty at the bar pic, I was able to score my first 1k+ notes on a Tweet. ty fam, ty

This was one of my favorite because the pinball machine actually shakes to mimic Godzilla walking through the city!!!

Ask the Community - Riverside Game Lab

How many tokens do the games take?

    too many

    Is a reservation required?

    No.

Hello , ive left voicemails and emails . Can someone contact me regarding reservations for private party?

I think the owner and his staff simply don't care. After all, they blocked me on Instagram based off the complaints I had about a certain game. So I wouldn't be surprised if they treated you like they treated me.

    Do they have hard liquor?

Starting in October 2020 we will!

    Do they have guitar hero?

    yes they do!

I have motion sickness and Ican not ride 3D/4D rides without feeling queezy. I can not watch the classic Star Wars movie because it was too shaky for me. Hell, (spoilers) i didnt even know they blew up the death star because i couldnt watch the ending of the first movie! I can't do Star Tours, soaring over the world/california, spinning rides, playing first person shooter (fps) games...get the picture? I had to try this for myself to say if I truly can or can not do VR. There are "moving" elements in this VR game that can cause motion sickness. Standing still as your surroundings move is a major part of this very immersing game! You will also be going "up/down" ramps on a flat service, so that will throw off your equilibrium. Defying virtual physics is what Dennis explained. I had my ways to gain back my center and refocus as I was playing this game. If you wear glasses, please bring them, it will help! I thought I had mine, but I forgot it. The staff will help you get calibrated with the equipment and send you on your way. At one point, my vr set started to get blurry so I had a hard time seeing the enemies, but they were big enough to see when they're "five feet" in front of you, lol. It also got blurry because sweat was starting to form around my eyes. This is going to be a very lengthy review. First off, parking is a little confusing if you're not from the area. I had to circle three times to park on the same side as this venue. There is a parking structure on the opposite side of the street. All structures give you 90 minutes free without the need of validation. Then, it can go up to $25 for the maximum structure price. The venue is like the TARDIS. It's bigger on the inside, haha. The door remains locked, but they have a ring doorbell that contains a phone number to call for someone to come open the door for you. Talk about a personal greeting! When you first walk in, you have a set of stairs. They also have a handicap lift, so they are ADA compliant! Kudos! They have a row of stationery equipment that allows you to run/walk in place and turn. They also have a two-seater ride. They have 5 seatbelts that will strap you in for safety. One for each shoulder, one for your lap, and one each for your feet. They also have an overhead bar that you pull down as if youre actually on a Rollercoaster. If you ride the Rollercoaster one, you will get sick. You will experience the motion, but you won't get the effect (wind/air) of a moving vehicle. They have a wall of lights set as an aquarium as a little seated waiting area. They suggest optimum fun and experience, 6 to 8 people in your party. That is also how many guests can play in each area. They have two areas that are meant for 8 players, their pvp area and their main floor. Get this! They have an escape room, max is 6 players! I definitely want to come back and try this one! Another area is family friendly and is great for up to 6 people as well. Dennis explained to us that the reason this place has the word "World" in this establishment is because these rooms came from all over the place! I think he said the family friendly room was from china/taiwan/japan...etc.. so that's pretty cool! They have a little area where you can host a party, but it's not secluded, it's open to the public. This venue is open to the public and walk-ins are good, but you may have to wait. Dennis mentioned some guest had to wait 2-3 hours until their turn. The guest did leave a deposit to ensure their spot in line. So they suggest to book online to set up a reservation. Each gaming area is about a 30 minute session. You will sweat because you will be moving a lot. It is a workout! Only one sad note, I wish there was more air flow in the building. Because I have motion sickness, I needed fresh air to cool me down. This was a fun experience and I do intend on coming back!

Due to the complexity of using the remotes, I'd say these activities are best suited for 7-8 year olds and above. They also do birthday packages which I'm sure are popular among the kids. The owner Jordan is awesome. He is super friendly and helpful. I don't know how he does it but he is able to manage all 8 individual stalls and troubleshoot for each person right away. You pay every 30 min. They offer happy hour which is half off Monday-Thursday from 5pm to close. So we paid $10 for 30 mins for each stall which was a good deal.
