After years of entering and exiting the doors of La Bodega I've only just come to realize I'd never reviewed one of the best liquor stores in Riverside. Shame on me! Located on Central Ave just off the 91, I will warn you the vehicle entrance to La Bodega is a bit narrow and made more narrow by the terrible parking. If you know you know. The parking here sucks. That said, once your inside you forget about the parking and are met with beer and liquor heaven. The craft beer selection is one of the best in the inland empire. A lot of it rare and pricey (looking at you Bottle Logic) but you'll find plenty that won't make your eyes water. It's not just beer, they have massive amounts of liquor, wine and even mead(!!!). If you're looking for something for the kids, they have a great variety of craft soda as well! The kiddo recommends anything from Avery's! Staff is always friendly and helpful if you don't know what to get. Gold is where you find it! If you're looking for mainstream adult beverages, you'll find it at La Bodega. We were able to find a Stella Rosa Prosecco that was in an all gold bottle, perfect for the occasion. They have a great selection of spirits as well. Totally blows bevmo out the water lol. Parking: so we did end up passing this place because it was difficult to see where the turn was. La Bodega Wine & Spirit is located just blocks from the 91 Freeway on Central Avenue across from the Riverside Plaza. They have a great selection of craft beer, wine, whisky, and other liquor. And the employees working here are really friendly and helpful. I remember my first visit was when I was on the search for some Russian River Pliny the Elder to gift to my brothers. Of course, they didn't have it but there was a female worker who was knowledgeable and pointed out some other craft beer. I've also bought a cute orange dinosaur-looking bottle opener from here, which sits in my kitchen. Parking can be found in the back or you can parallel park right up front. Overall good place to pick up something different than what BevMo offers. They also make gift-giving easy. And it's a perfect place to pick up something on the way to a party so you don't come empty-handed. Winner! read more

I went to La Bodega after work on Saturday Aug 5th, and after looking around a bit, I soon realized that I needed help since they have a VAST selection of basically everything. One of the workers behind the counter, (he had a beard), could see that I needed help, so I asked him that I was trying to recreate a layered drink that I had many years ago and that I needed Godiva Chocolate Liqueur. He was quite knowledgeable and informed me that Godiva Choc hadn't been made in quite a long time. Arr! He then suggested another brand, but wasn't sure if the recipe required dark or white chocolate. He then used his intuition and problem solving skills to deduce that since it was a layered drink, and the other two ingredients were butterscotch snapps and Bailey's Irish Cream, more than likely it was a dark chocolate since that will create the third layer. Since he was so helpful, I asked him about a Japanese whiskey called Tottori. I've had Suntory before, which is more popular, but was looking for Tottori specifically, and I told him the reasons why. He also knew a lot about Japanese whiskey's and recommended something that he thought that I would enjoy, The Matsui. I didn't want to spend that kind of money at the time, however when I was in like to get the chocolate liqueur, I realized that I am at La Bodega, he wasn't pressuring me at all and he had been super helpful, so I ended up getting it. The following day, Sunday, I met up with a friend in Riverside for brunch. After brunch, I decided to go back to La Bodega to see if he was working there. Sure enough he was. He saw me and asked how the whiskey was. I hadn't tried it yet but I asked him for his name so I could write this review. BIG shout out to "the bearded guy," ANDREW! Thanks Andrew for the recommendation of that whiskey. Super smooth. Haven't tried the chocolate liqueur yet, because that combination sounds waaaay to sweet and rich... instant hangover. read more

They have all the fixins' to boot.
