La bodega is a small gem in riverside. For people who are into craft beer, this is a place you want to see. They carry a variety of beer while also supporting local breweries. On a good day beer that are hard to obtain like Pliny the Elder show up. But even when it is not in stock they have a great selection, I myself have fell in love with Bottle Logic by finding a bottle at this store. The staff always provided excellent customer service. There is always one person who is knowledgeable enough to recommend me something if I am uncertain about a purchase. I really like going here for kegs of beer. If you ever need a keg for a party or you have a kegerator, shoot a call or email to Kim and she'll get you what you want. She can get nearly anything. Just order on Monday or Tuesday to ensure you'll get it by Friday. I typically only buy kegs, but there is an amazing selection of beer in cans and bottles. They even sell beer swag, so you can get pint glasses, t-shirts, hats or beer signs. (limited quantities so check in often) There is a dude with a beard that helps me a lot, cool guy, just don't remember his name. If you want Bottle Logic beer, they almost always have some, kegs, bottles and cans. And if you have $$$$ to spend on beer, for some reason there are always a couple of kegs in the $200+ range (for a 5g....) must be some really good beer? read more

A craft beer geek's paradise! It doesn't get much better than this when it comes to selection for craft brews. They always have a solid collection of the current Stone beers, plus a great selection of international beers. It's way too easy to come here and spend a LOT of money on crafts, but they care enough unique beers to make selections a snap. This place has a largeeee selection of alcohol. The place is clean and organized! But I'm going to review the alcohol infused whipped cream "Cream" I bought today. It is located right next to the cashier and according to the cashier it tastes good and is popular. It comes in a range of flavors- chocolate, carmel, raspberry, cherry and I can't remember the other one. So I bought the chocolate flavor because I'm a chocolate fanatic so I figure you can't go wrong with chocolate, right? Considering the can is 15% alcohol (30 proof) don't think it is not strong because it is! My friend and I ate this with ice cream and it over powered the ice cream. So I recommend not eating this sober, maybe after a couple of shots/beers/drinks and this whipped cream will be delicious. Also it says your can't refrigerate once open or else the whipped cream and alcohol will separate. read more

If you like craft beer, hard to find beer, rare beer, small batch beer, this is your place. I'd guess they carry well over 300 different kinds of beer. They have all other alcohol too but my main focus and reason for coming was the outlandish beer selection. Some are limited to only purchasing one bottle because they are that rare and hard to find. I have a soft spot for bottle shops. Especially when it's a locally run bottle shop that has a great selection. They have a lot of craft beer, a pretty darn good wine selection, and a wide variety of spirits that if you're reading this review out of context, one would think that this place is some sort of headquarters for a realm beyond our existence. What really separates this place from others is it's customer service. Specifically, one example that stands out in my mind. About a year or so plus ago, I was recovering from some not minor, but not major knee surgery. In short, this means my knee was about the size of a cantaloupe, had the flexibility of a baseball bat, and the stability of jello salad. Fun times! I had received word late one morning that La Bodega had received a shipment of those most rare of brews, Pliny. Pliny the Elder. This was an announcement on their facebook page, and since it takes me a good long minute to get to where I'm going in the house (I didn't have a tablet then), I received word a bit late. I head over there anyway in my car (which looking back, I shouldn't have been driving according to the doctor. Thank god I'm tall), and crutched my way inside. The owner of the establishment looked at me and asked if I needed any help. I said I had come on the off chance that any of the Pliny was still available. The owner looked me up and down and said "We're out, but I saved one for myself. But here, you have it. You need it way more than I need it." I profusely thanked him, and paid for it. I treasured that bottle. The fact that the owner was more than accommodating to my needs made me a devotee to this place, and whenever I need something special, I come here. Sure, other bigger box stores may have more depth, but they don't have as much in terms of selection of the better stuff. That's why this place rocks. read more

La Bodega is one of those hidden gems that restores your faith in Riverside. I've lived in Manhattan and LA without finding a comparable liquor store. It's like a jewel box of rare craft beers, curated wines and bourbons, but never pretentious or unwelcoming. The owner is renown for his personal service and the employees speak from experience. What sets La Bodega apart is how much fun it is to shop here. The counter is lined with mini-bottles, discounts and wild products like alcohol-infused whipped cream. I doubt I've ever left the shop without something whimsical and a beer I've never seen before. Japanese porters, German rauchbiers, triple-fermented Belgian ales, Sazerac and absinthe...yes, please! Amazingly, the stock is fresh and routinely rotated. There's no dust on the bottles or mildew on the labels. I don't know how they can move such an exotic inventory in the land of Keystone and Jack, but I'm grateful for it. If you're looking for an easy gift solution, you can even pay for items online for your friends and family to pick up. Really, what more do you need? read more

I do my best to patronize local - non chain businesses. This family owned business is one that is the backbone of Riverside. I even occasionally buy Lotto tickets here. I've been coming here so long that I don't even pay attention to the directional guides for parking. I park whichever way I feel like it. Turning into their parking lot from Central is the 'approved' way but I enjoy going the opposite direction from Laura Lane crossing through the Del Taco parking lot. I'm such a rebel. La Bodega carries a terrific variety of liquor, beer, wine and accessories. If you have a special request for let's say Appleton 21 rum they can go through their distributors to order it for you. They have kegs available for parties and also carry smokes (cigars/cigarettes) behind the counter. For Beer aficionados like myself they carry a large variety of microbrews both domestic and imported. It's always cool to see what new goodies they've gotten in. Look for the Crystal skull. From time to time I've gone in looking for the latest beer from The Bruery or other local breweries and have left hours later with whisky, wine, bourbon, cigars, glasses and chips. The staff doesn't follow you around but they do make sure you get help if you need it. The only 2 issues about my experiences here is the pricing. Most times what I'm looking for doesn't have a price sticker so I have to bring it to the counter to get the price or I'll yell across the store to ask how much and they will come over take the item to the register and check the price. It's a minor thing so I won't rate them lower for it but it is a little annoying. Their items can sometimes be a little pricey in comparison to the mega liquor stores but this place is convenient. Forget grocery stores or traditional "liquor" stores, they wont have everything La Bodega has I PROMISE YOU. They have all the basics along with unique flavored, rare, small batch, and imported spirits of your choice. Their wine selection is the very best. They carry my personal favorites which I usually have to go to LA to find. They also have chilled Champagne, beer by the keg, glasses, mixers, and snacks. To top it all off, they have a wonderful cigar selection. I really don't know why anyone would go anywhere else. Second, the service is insanely good. The staff is always so helpful and incredibly knowledgeable about all things liquor. Unlike most liquor stores where the staff wont even come out from behind the counter, here the staff is totally hands on. Third, the store is just freaking cool! Its so beautiful inside with wood floors and pretty glass cases filled with cognacs, scotches, and such in amazing crystal bottles. If you're an alkie connoisseur, or fancy yourself one anyway, you really do need to check this place out. It's got a fantastic selection of just about everything. It's the hidden gem that always seems to have "that one drink you had but can't seem to find anywhere." It was the only location in the area where we could find JK Scrumpy hard cider (Freaking amazing stuff by the way). The staff is VERY helpful and knowledgeable. They know where everything is and know what they do or do not have in stock. And like I said, they seem to have everything. ME: Do you guys sell JK Scrumpy? WORKER: Yup, we just got in a shipment. ME: Oh cool. Well, umm, do you sell wine made in Siberia? WORKER: One bottle left. ME: . . . Do you sell fermented yak milk hand squeezed by Leonard Nimoy? WORKER: Mr. Nimoy just dropped some off.
