They have a ton of nostalgic arcade games and new ones too like the VR. You exchange your money in the machine like when you were a kid or you can go to the register to exchange. They offer a limited out of seating and have a bar at the end of the building. Games range from 1-4 tokens and they have an entire room dedicated to pinball. read more

My teenagers and I come here once a week to play Connect 4 Hoops, and then we dwindle away the rest of the tokens on Skeeball (it doesn't award tickets. it's just for fun), old Atari games, and the Marvel super hero fighting games. The three of us are able to enjoy ourselves with just $20 worth of tokens playing these. We have not tried the VR ones yet. I park for free on the neighborhood streets. This part of Riverside is really nice. I love the way the library looks at night. There is plenty of unhealthy food next door at Food Lab but so far nothing there has been very tasty IMO. read more

About time! Funny how the past repeats itself. In the late 70s through the early 80s, video game parlors were plentiful and in my hometown, not always concentrated in the downtown. In LA such establishments are multiplying and for good reason, it's a relatively low cost way to entertain oneself or a group of friends. It's also a great date spot. The Game Lab announced its arrival quietly by placing Mortal Kombat II and Star Wars next to the Beerfarm. We discovered and played those games, which were initially free and grew steadily more excited about the future a parlor would add not only to the evolving downtown Riverside night life but the convenience of a neighborhood hangout! They have beeeeerrrr..... I think this new game center will appeal to all ages although it's 21 and older in the evening. There are virtual reality stations with different games, lots of pinball machines, air hockey tables, vintage video games, Guitar Hero and many others. I went again last night with the gf and a buddy. It was loads of fun knocking back beers from the well-curated selection and shooting NBA hoops and tossing balls at menacing clowns. If you can stand the noise, perhaps you can play boardgames (which you'd have to bring yourself) and sit at a table towards the front? All-in-all, this is a welcome newbie and I hope that they bring in more games because there's room. My wishlist, hint hint, includes Robotron, Space Invaders, Missile Command, Centipede, Halo (sit down version for four players) and some car or motorcycle simulation games. That's all... read more

When you enter the Game Lab, you're more than welcome to walk around and watch people play games, though you should really buy some tokens, grab some beers, and get the full experience. I'd say this place is inexpensive, you can buy $20 worth of tokens and it will last you quite some time as some arcade machines take a token or two. There's also private rooms to play Nintendo Switch that can hold about 15- 20 people & VR games you can reserve a spot for. This is our new favorite date spot! We went on a Tuesday around 6PM. We were confused about parking because there were signs that said 1 hour and half only and we thought we had to pay, but we were told that we didn't need to pay. You go around through the front. Customer service was super friendly. They have a great selection of classic arcade games. We had so much fun playing with the pinball machines, streetfighter, pacman, soul caliber, metal slug and many more. They also have foosball, 2 air hockey games, skee ball, and virtual reality games. We bought $20 worth of tokens but we only used half of them. We were surprised that the tokens go a long ways. Definitely worth it. They also have a bar in the back. For pinball machines, there are 50 cent/2 token machines or $1/4 token machines. Personally, the 2 token games were as much fun and even more fun than the 4 token machines. I liked the Star Trek and Halloween monster one. Overall, this place is super fun for dates, friends, family, or even by yourself. It is next to Riverside Food Lab too. Post-COVID we were glad to spend our first date night at Riverside Game Lab. There were so many great selections my wife and I remembered from our childhood. Street Fighter II, NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat, etc. we were able to play Pop a Shot, Ski Ball, and Air Hockey. Many of the games cost only 1 token, some were 2 tokens, and some driving games cost 4 tokens. You don't earn tickets for prizes but if you want to have a great time, introduce your kids to games you can whip them on, lol this is the best place to come to! We ate before we came but they did have a bar in the back with some options for drinks. Everyone there was respectful and gave each other space to enjoy their games and any COVID rhythms people practiced (face masks, sanitizer for hands, etc). The only downside was the left joystick on Tetris didn't work well, and Street Fighter II didn't take my token to play a 2-Player option. read more

It's a pretty cool spot. Great food options, alcohol , they even have shot options. However, there is no where to sit while you eat. There are tables, but no stools. The game cards frequently reset the machines POS and takes the points off the card and you didn't play anything. But overall great, staff was friendly and helpful. read more

Fun! Fun! Parking in lot on fairmount was easy and close. Security was friendly. Bartender had a great pour. We had the Luigi island and Cali Creamin. This has been my second experience at the Riverside Game Lab and I can safely say that each experience was super enjoyable! This large arcade is an extension off of the Riverside food lab and has a variety of different games from arcade cabinets, to pinball machines, to DDR; there is something here for everyone to enjoy! You can get 20 tokens here for $5 which is pretty reasonable as most machines take 2 tokens per play. You can either use cash to get tokens at a machine or buy them at the counter- there is a dollar fee for using a card to buy tokens at the counter though so be prepared for that! Overall this is a great place to check out if you are looking for some fun- especially if you check it out after getting some delicious eats at the food lab! read more

I was finally able to go into Riverside Game Lab and as an old man, I had so much fun! I like that it uses tokens, good old fashioned tokens. There's nothing like running around an arcade with a pocketful of tokens. The newer the game, the more tokens you will need. Huge selection of pinball, ranging from 2-4 tokens a play. Old retro games for 1 token. Big VR games I was too afraid to get near. Big area in the back of the room for tournaments, parties, etc. We were in town for work and even though we were all tired and it was late, we still spent an hour in here. read more

The Riverside Game Lab is really a very fun, cool place for everyone, young, old, families, couples or individuals. The games they have range from old school to modern day and they have something for everyone. I'm a huge fan of the old retro games and this arcade had my absolute favorite, Ms Pac-Man! They also had Galaga, Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. I was surprised that I could play these games just as well as I did when I was a kid and I was pretty darn good. The High score on Ms Pac-Man at this location belongs to me!!! They also had air hockey and Foosball which are two more of my favorites. It's very reasonably priced also. 20 tokens for $5 and 40 tokens for $10. Most machines take one or two tokens each. With the food court right next door this place makes for a super charged and really fun family or date night. Been here a couple times with my husband and kids since my son likes to participate in the smash bros tournaments the game lab has about once a month. Admission to the game lab itself is free, and there is a parking structure nearby (free parking after 6pm). There are a variety of old school arcade video games, VR, pinball, as well as air hockey and fooseball to try your hand at. I believe all the games take tokens, with the exception of VR ; and there are several token machines available. They also have a snack bar and a bar at the back. If you get hungry, the food lab is right next door. Highly recommended for a fun (but slightly pricey) family night out. read more

The place in itself is 5 stars. This rating is more towards the type of people who come here. I've been to this place about 7-10 times I'd estimate and I had a bad experience every time. It wasn't due to the workers or the place itself, but because of the people that were there. Many adults who bring their children, get plastered drunk and don't even pay attention to their children. It's sad seeing the parents drink when they are responsible for driving them home, so sadly, they are drunk driving their kids home. A lot of the adults also act out of control being messy & loud. They drop their glasses which break and can cause a potential injury. I personally believe the staff should not serve alcohol to anyone that is with children. It's just promoting drinking and drive! In general, a lot of ghetto people come here and it's definitely something that has now made me never want to go back. Just a bunch of classless people that are rude to the employees and to the small percentage of normal people that attend. I wouldn't recommend this place just because of the type of people that come here. read more

We didn't try to food or the drinks there, primarily cause we wanted to just check out the vibes. It wasn't packed at all which was nice. I wish it was bigger and I'm bummed they didn't have "out of service" posters for the VR headset games. I wasted a few credits only to find out the headset was broken and couldn't be fitted. I saw some other people go to it too and leave in disappointment. I will say, I loved the variety of pinball machines they had! We basically wasted all our credits on those machines. At the beginning of summer, I took my 6 and 10-year-old daughter for a 65-minute session of VR. We had an amazing time, the kids love playing VR and I promised them each that if they finished their summer workbooks, we would be back. My son completed his summer workbook and I headed there with him on Saturday morning for a Noon reservation. When we arrived, we were told that the age policy is 9 and up, and he couldn't play. Nowhere on the website, reservation system, or confirmation does it outline an age policy. The best I could find where the policy exists was a yellow sticky note written in sharpie, placed next to the check-in desk. My son was very sad, as I was too, having driven 30 minutes to get there on a holiday weekend and having forgone many other entertainment options that day. This was the signature experience that kept him going all summer through the hard work of summer learning and when we arrived, the age policy, so important that it only exists on a post-it, kept him from it. I am sure there are plenty of good reasons why they are only allowing ages 9 and up to use the VR system. I hope they will take this opportunity to update the website, reservation system, and confirmation emails to reflect this new change so other families won't be disappointed when they arrive. read more

Stopped by the other night and had a great time here! There's a solid mix of vintage arcade cabinets, pinball and even virtual reality booths. My friends and I aren't traditional arcade folks but found ourselves spending a few hours playing all of the games...definitely wasn't brave enough for the VR (next time!) but it was fun to watch. To everyone playing that "plank" game, may the odds be ever in your favor!! There are a bunch of taps in the back and a ton of cans in the front bar area. I had one of the hard seltzers, which was good for a non-beer drinker! Games run on tokens so bring cash! Staff seemed super friendly too. It's 21+ after 10 so if you're just trying to have a chill, fun night with your friends, this place is legit. There's nothing like it in the area so I really appreciate being able to grab a bite to eat (it's next door to Food Lab) and spending the night playing games, having a place to sit and just chilling with friends without even having to move my car! Exactly what Riverside and the IE needed, a destination with no entry fee, tons of seating and something for everyone. Personally, I loved their video game and pinball machine line up but also the proximity to the famous Food Lab and historic Fox Theater. My wife and I visited on September 28 (Saturday) from around 5:30pm to 10:30pm. The amount of people slowly grew and so did the excitement. It was always easy to get on a game or sometimes a short wait. All the machines are on tokens which is so classic, reminds me of my childhood. There's probably around 80 token games, most of them were $.25, some $1.00 but anyway, our $20 lasted us quite some time. We also tried the VR, they had a special that night. The VR employees were very helpful and nice. My wife was a little apprehensive but they made her feel comfortable and now she wants to return to do some of the other virtual reality games. it was a blast just watching her play beat saber. They had a VR "menu" and it looks like you could rent a pod for an hour with some friends and have unlimited VR. I think it was around $45 for an hour, seems worth it. I'm not really a craft beer guy but the bar tender (in the back under the giant 300 inch (or so) TV screen) helped me pick a beer (which was awesome.. I think it was called El Sully) and my wife grabbed a cider. Forgot to say that around 7pm we went next door to the food lab, literally 10 steps away from the Game Lab, and grabbed a pizza and brought it back to the Game Lab to eat. It was fun people watching too. So many jaws dropping as the walked in and saw all the games, the LED lighting, the sounds, etc. Someone said they have a few private party room and I saw some signs for upcoming tournements and other stuff. If you're looking for a great place to have a ton of fun, Riverside game Lab it's just the place. Located right next to Foodlab with amazing food choices. I met Family there and brought my husband and two boys, ages 10 and 12. Not only did the kids have a blast, grown-ups had a ton of fun too. There's so many games that take me back to when I was a teenager. The bar is very well stocked and the bartenders were extremely helpful at helping my husband narrow down his choice of beer. Super friendly staff all around! We can't wait to come back next time we're in town. You can't go wrong at Riverside game Lab.
