The fan was not blowing on the outside unit so I thought it might be the capacitor. The service was assigned to Redmond's and I figured I would not hear from them until Monday. I was called on Saturday by Duane Redmond, the owner, who said he could make it out on Sunday (since when did skilled service contractors start working on weekends). Well, we were given a heads-up call, he arrived on time and worked like a master detective in 90+ degree temperatures both outdoors and yes, indoors (no AC), all the while chatting with us about what he was doing and what we might want to do. Turned out the Air Handler's transformer went bad, and he had a replacement on his truck. Any negative reviews you may see anywhere for Redmond's Plumbing and Electrical defy my experience. Duane Redmond knows his trade, and is a straight up, honest, nice guy.

A couple years later, I was adding a cold air return from our master bathroom, and I needed some duct pieces. I called them up and they fabricated the necessary pieces while I was standing there. I have had terrible service from Southern Maryland Heating and Air, and had to fix nearly everything they touched, but Winters technicians are sharp and they do great work. I wanted to share my experience following a service visit on Monday, July 6th. Based on his evaluation, he stated that the unit itself appears to be operating properly. However, what he told me afterward was very concerning. He explained that, because of the design and layout of our home, I should never have been sold this particular system if the expectation was for it to adequately cool both levels of the house. In his professional opinion, the current system will never perform the way I was led to believe it would, and the proper solution would be to install a second unit in the attic. That raises a serious question: if this system was never capable of adequately cooling our home, why was it recommended and sold to us in the first place? We made a significant investment based on the expectation that the system being recommended by the professionals would be appropriate for our home and provide adequate comfort throughout both levels. I do not believe this is a situation where we should be expected to simply accept the outcome or compromise on something that was misrepresented from the start. We relied on your expertise, and the responsibility for correcting this issue should not fall on us. At this point, I am disappointed and concerned that we were sold a system that was never properly suited for our home. This issue was not caused by us, and I expect the company to take responsibility and make it right. I will be happy to update this review based on how the situation is handled moving forward.

I didn't know what the underling conditions were, but just knew that it was an emergency. It happened in the evening and I needed someone to come out immediately. That same day, I called Bernard at 4:30pm, just for him to instantly respond, and come over to my home by 6pm! He was able to properly evaluate the issue, give me a full diagnosis of the issue, and provided me a solution that would not only guaranteed my home's restoration but was also extremely cost efficient! I had 3 rooms in my home that's were all connected on the same circuit breaker (very old home) causing constant power overloads constantly and wire burn outs.
