The fan was not blowing on the outside unit so I thought it might be the capacitor. The service was assigned to Redmond's and I figured I would not hear from them until Monday. I was called on Saturday by Duane Redmond, the owner, who said he could make it out on Sunday (since when did skilled service contractors start working on weekends). Well, we were given a heads-up call, he arrived on time and worked like a master detective in 90+ degree temperatures both outdoors and yes, indoors (no AC), all the while chatting with us about what he was doing and what we might want to do. Turned out the Air Handler's transformer went bad, and he had a replacement on his truck. Any negative reviews you may see anywhere for Redmond's Plumbing and Electrical defy my experience. Duane Redmond knows his trade, and is a straight up, honest, nice guy.

Cold Comfort was our 3rd company to provide an estimate and to come out to assess my unit, etc. The owner, Gabriel was the reason we made this company our choice. He was down to earth, honest and provided solid reasons why they choose the products they use. Our unit was over 25 years old, had served us well and I was unfamiliar with some of the other brands being offered now. We were a "Carrier" family. They were immediate in responding with a same day appointment for the service call and we were scheduled for installation withon the same week On the day of installation, his amazing team arrived right in time w/ cheer and professionalism. They explained what they were doing and how, lines my floors with cloths and covered their shoes to avoid a major mess, they were efficient and communicated with us throughout the removal and installation process. They cleaned up after themselves leaving us with very little to do other than dust. They showed us how everything worked, how to troubleshoot if need be and how to communicate if there were questions or issues. In total, Cold Comfort replaced the entire HVAC system, our humidifier, thermostat and then several days later, our water heater! Whew!!! Jary (who helped us when we first moved in) came out on Tuesday and said we had a leak somewhere since the closed-system unit was totally out of coolant. He came back Weds. to do the leak detection and found the leak, recommended a new coil. We had the new coil installed on Friday; this time it was Ricardo and team that did the work installing the coil. They did a great job and a couple hours later our house was back to normal temperature. Gabriel helped us with all the coordination and estimates and seeing if the part was still under warranty (it wasn't, but I didn't expect it would be honestly.) No one likes spending a bunch of money on repairs but I'm very confident that the recommendations Jary made were sound and correct. He did not attempt to upsell me at all, which is greatly appreciated. (The estimates Gabriel sent did include options for replacing the unit, but that wasn't necessary at this time and there was no pressure to do so.) Before every appointment, they send a text with the tech's name, photo, and even a little bio including their hobbies. It's like getting a match on a dating app, only this time the person actually shows up and fixes the problem instead of ghosting you. The first visit didn't clear the clog, but the next day another technician came out and patiently explained everything. Both were courteous, on time, and really knew their stuff. And while Yelp loves photos, trust me -- nobody wants to see what was blocking my drain. That's a whole different genre. Bottom line: Boothe's brings personality and professionalism to plumbing.
