I decided to try Tender Towne last night and I can't really say why. It wasn't to see what all the fuss was about because I'd not seen any fuss. HEY THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I GOT AT THIS PLACE... a chicken (tender) dinner. Unfortunately, I felt more like a loser than a winner after my chicken (tender) dinner. (COMMENCE NUMEROUS KFC COMPARISONS) What can you get at Tender Towne? There are 5 combo meals: tenders (3), more tenders (4), even more tenders (5), tenders on a bun (aka "sandwhich"), and tenders in a tortilla (aka "wrap"). No bowls, no drumsticks, no thighs, no original, no crispy, no grilled, no popcorn... this place is just tenders, taking its name quite literally. For a place to have such a specialized menu, I was expecting these tenders to be amazing. Simply put, they weren't. They were alright, being both thick and juicy, but it's not like they've gone and reinvented the chicken tender. A certain Colonel's secret recipe was definitely missed. They come with a dipping sauce that I didn't care for. Sadly, that's the only dipping sauce option you get. I got the 4 tender meal and only ate 3 of them. The meals come with big wedge fries that were nothing to write on Yelp about (wait a minute...), and don't even come close to the deliciousness that are KFC potato wedges. You also get a small cup of coleslaw, which I liked. Lastly, you get a big piece of garlic toast. I love bread, so no complaints there. My meal was $7.99. I feel like this was a bit too much for the food quality. I don't think the Colonel is as greedy for my money, and he gives me back a lot more for what I spend. I would probably only come back to Tender Towne if I really, specifically had to have chicken tenders, it was Sunday (Chick-Fil-A's holy day), Buffalo Wild Wings had been tamed, and the local KFC exploded. The food is made fresh and comes out nice and hot. We got the Three Lip Snacker which comes with 3 tenders, fries, garlic bread and a drink. Very similar to Raising Canes or Zazbys but falls quite a bit short. I prefer Canes/Zaxbys sauce too, Tender Towne's sauce tastes too much like ranch. read more

Tender Town is very pricey. Our order contained two errors as to what we ordered. Our kids, who love chicken nuggets, said these taste "rubbery" and wouldn't finish them. My wife thought they were "rubbery" as well. The chicken wrap was also terrible. The sauce that it came with was awful. Won't be going back for sure. Past the store this past Saturday evening and there was one car in the lot. Came back by an hour later and still only one car. I think this is a real indicator as to how folks feel about this place. read more

Ate here once and Im done. My husband and I had some belly rumbles after eating here. The tenders were very bland. The fries were soggy with grease. The sauce tasted and smelled rancid. The pricing was just insane for the size of the tenders we were given. It was an all around bad time. Took a Saturday drive from the westside to this place seeing a article in the paper about this joint.With my wife being a chicken tender junkie why not good article about it. Got there and two thing I did not expect happened 1)No grilled chicken well my story is long but to make it simple my diet calls for NO FAT DEEP FRIED CRAP!!2)My wife the chicken tender lover she is ordered a wrap WTF ha ha. So I ate nothing ok ok ok I nibbled on here chicken and to really honest it was really good and the tender sauce was really good it was a ranch based sauce so if you expect a BBQ sauce think otherwise. The tortilla was really fresh was a kinda tomato tortilla. So get this I like it even thought I did not order. And my chicken tender queen wife did not like it! Too much chicken??? Sauce too strong. If you're a Columbus Ohio native like myself...Tender Town is the next best thing to Raising Canes. The only difference is their sauce isn't as good as Canes is. I ordered thee three finger meal....it was basically the same thing as Zaxbys (in KY & southern states) and Canes. read more

I liked my Chicken Strips from Tender Towne. Many people compare it to Raising Cane's, but I can honestly say that the sauce and fries are both way better at Cane's. I thought the portion was sufficient ( Meal with three tender, fries, sauce, garlic bread, and a drink), but I thought the price should have been $5.59 instead $6.59. I went through the drive-thru and they were fast and polite. I will probably go back again, if I am craving some good chicken tenders. read more

When I first moved here, this was one of the first hidden treasures I discovered. I love Tender Towne. I ate there every day for almost a week solid after my first time. There are a couple of other chicken finger chain restaurants around the area, but in my opinion they don't measure up - I haven't been back to either of them. The breading on Tender Towne's chicken strips are lighter to me, and the Tender sauce they have is miles above the Cain sauce. No doubt. Not too expensive (around $6 for a small meal). Food is usually great. Too bad one of the managers isn't even half decent. They treat their workers horribly. One of the male managers was screaming at them in front of customers because their headsets aren't working properly and they were getting drive thru orders wrong, all due to something being wrong with the headset!! Something the workers have no control over. To me, if you don't treat your employees with respect, you don't get my business!! So congratulations on losing ANOTHER customer. read more

I seen a review that said this is basically same as raising canes. Well I beg to differ I believe it couldn't be further from the truth! They are 10 times as fast! I just went there this evening and I didn't even get my cup full at soda machine and my food was ready and there was four people in front of me when I walked in the door! Last time I went to canes in east gate it took 15 mins to get food! It took so long and food tasted like was fried in old grease! Never had that at tender town, always taste like it's cooked in fresh oil! Canes could learn something from this mom and pop place! read more

The staff while cutting up and having fun amongst themselves (which gave the restaurant a light and fun atmosphere) were very attentive, prompt, and friendly with their service and kept the inside of the restaurant very clean. First of all, know from the beginning that the ONLY form of chicken served here is Chicken Tenders, hence the name Tender Towne! This is a good thing, a really really GOOD thing. These are the best meat a chicken can offer you, the tenderloin center portion of the breast. There is not a bad bite to be found, only beautiful, clean white chicken. They are prepared with a light breading and just lightly seasoned so you can enjoy their sauce. You can request buffalo or honey mustard sauce if you want something more zingy than their standard sauce. It's tasty, but I like some spice! Alongside these delectable beauties you will get lovely steak-cut fries. They are thick and hearty, and a perfect complement to the chicken. Their slaw is pretty darn tasty, also, dressed just enough and not too creamy, not too vinegary, just right! The only thing I wish was different about the slaw is that I wish there was a little more of it! Another delicious accompaniment is a big fat slice of grilled Texas toast. Greasewise, this was a one-napkin meal. I didn't even need it. It wasn't greasy! We found this all very reasonably- priced and paid just under $15 for two adults to eat inside in a very clean and bright restaurant. That included drinks. You can't eat very many places for that price any more. This meal was delicious, and we plan on returning very soon. If you love chicken, you should love Tender Towne. read more

Best tenders I've had in a while. Fries and garlic bread were very good as well. Overall, I had a pretty good sized meal and left the place feeling great because it doesn't sit in your stomach like a rock (I'm looking at you KFC). I assume that's because they actually use fresh ingredients which is quite rare in a fast food place nowadays. Cashier was very nice and entire place was extremely clean. Seems like there's hardly any cars in the lot so hopefully this place stays in business. Would recommend this place to anyone. read more
