I am really shocked that this place has a rating over 4 stars. Maybe I just went for the wrong meal, maybe it's better as a lunch place than for breakfast. Ordered pancakes and home fries with bacon. The pancakes and home fries were flavorless. I actually couldn't take more than 2 bites of the potatoes, they tasted like they were cooked in a smoker. No seasoning, no onions, nothing. And I've never been one to turn away potatoes, so that's saying a lot. The bacon - I asked for it crispy and it was delivered to me as rubbery as can be. For sure it was prepared in a microwave. As for the atmosphere... I've seen gas station convenience stores with better ambiance. The place is in desperate need of a makeover. Would not go back. read more

As a vegan it can be the biggest strug ever to find breakfast in a beach town. This place was unexpected but we found it on yelp and decided to give it a try as it was super close to our airbnb. I built my own breakfast burrito and subbed meat, cheese and eggs for more "options" (like beans, hashbrowns- so good!, guac, and other veggies) and my girlfriend got one of their pre-designed burritos and subbed hashbrowns in place of sausage. Really really delicious. And yummy smoothies too! No line either time we went, second time owner gave us a discount because we had been before. Super nice guy! Wish there were more places to sit inside bc it was bad weather, but on a day w nice weather there is outdoor seating. While visiting the Outer Banks for the first time, my wife and I were looking for a good place for breakfast. We wanted to avoid chains. After reading the reviews, we decided to check out Ten O Six. We both got the breakfast burrito and were not disappointed. They were quite large and very filling. They come with a side of salsa, which made a great addition. My only complaint, which is minor, is that I would have liked the burrito a little better with crumbled sausage, instead of the chunked sausage. It was still one of the best breakfast burritos I've had, though. I think the appearance/layout may turn some people off. It's a tiny place, with a market, and only patio seating. We saw some tourists walk in and leave without giving the place a chance. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, however. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some good breakfast off the beaten path. read more

Loved this place! Fine cheap eats!!!! Toby who actually introduces himself, takes an interest in everyone he serves and remembers you name when he passes by (nice touch, guy!). Food is fresh, quick and delivered to your seat outside. I love the curbside counter for single eaters. Be sure to try their biscuits and gravy, they were the best I have ever had!!! My brunch was awesome, too bad I didn't find this place til my way out if town today but I will be back next trip!!! We were late getting breakfast and about to STARVE! Decided to order breakfast from Ten O Six and bring it back to the house. Called in our order and it was ready when I got there. Everything smelled so good it almost didn't make it home! Prices were reasonable and portions were abundant. My Beach Road breakfast burrito was just what I wanted; the salsa and hot sauce on the side made it perfect. We had the fried shrimp basket and breakfast burrito; and was surprised as to how freakin' delicious it was! When we ordered the fried shrimp, I was a bit hesitant thinking it was going to be heavy with breading and overall nasty feeling afterwards. This was lightly breaded and the shrimp really shined! Fantastic breakfast burritos!! We tried three different versions and they were all excellent. Coffee was great too. All around terrific breakfast spot. Be forewarned: only a few outside tables, so not the perfect spot to come to just hang out. And though they are dog-friendly, since things are pretty close together, we were very aware of the other (yappy) dog and the folks who didn't seem too excited to have dogs nearby. But, if you do choose to grab a table, the staff is great & keeps an eye on how you're doing and what you need to maximize your experience. Really glad we followed up on this Yelp-find! The food is top-notch and the people are nice & helpful. A definite addition to our OBX breakfast rotation. Would love to see them transform from this deli-style incarnation into more of a sit-down cafe; they have the right vibe to be a cool destination spot in addition to making yummy food. read more

We skipped our free hotel breakfast two days in a row to come have breakfast here. The two-person friendly and knowledgeable staff pump out great food out of the small carry out location. The breakfast burritos and the French toast are amazing. I commented on the quality of the sausage in my breakfast burrito and Toby said that it's made locally by third-generation sausage maker. The chicken salad was perfect, clean fresh flavors and not too sweet. This is a carry out so there are no restrooms and the only seating is outdoors and the food is only offered on disposables. Just ate here for breakfast. It's a local walkin shop with a coffee bar. I ordered the small biscuit and gravy and it was the best biscuit and gravy I've ever had. My mom got a bacon, egg and cheese bagel. She said it was good. It looked good. I also got a cafe latte and it was very good- way better than Starbucks. The guy in the shop was very friendly and nice. I love supporting small local businesses. The only thing to know is that all the seating is outside. They can probably seat about 10-12 people. read more

Food is four star. (A reuben was good; a crabcake sandwich was superb). But, a innocent yelper should note: There is no seating indoors. The food is picnic table or take away. AND At least as of the beginning of September, there was a real problem of flies around the outdoor dining. I would like to like this place better. But they have to lose the flies. read more

While visiting the outer banks, we decided to stop in for a lunch based on the reviews. We love to go to small non chain restaurants where generally the food is able to be the star. I love seafood so we had high hopes for Ten O Six. All I have to say is this place was a HUGE MISTAKE! We are not food snobs by any stretch of the imagination, however this place is worse than our imagination could have ever thought of. We ordered the king crab boil and splurged for two lobster tails. In most places, this would be more than enough for two people. NOT HERE. Read the description very carefully! The platter arrived with ONE king crab leg, not a cluster. The lobster tails we added on were so over cooked they were chewy and had 0 flavor. The platter comes with shrimp which brought about 10 total and the dish's saving grace. The corn was not fresh and over cooked. the andouille sausage was sliced and dry. How long do you have to steam sausage for it to be dry?! The platter also comes with chopped potatoes which at that point we didn't want even care to try. Everything was simply boiled without any seasoning and sprinkled with old bay on top of the already cooked seafood shells. Not sure what the purpose is at that point. After spending almost $100, we will still have to pass by a fast food place since we're still hungry. I have never been so disappointed in a seafood boil in my life. If you are looking for a seafood place, save your money and go somewhere else! We will NEVER be back to Ten O Six. read more
