This place is amazing. Tempura focused omakase was something I didn't know I needed until I did. We got the Higashiyama for $320 and it was so much food and left us full and satisfied. Initially tempura focused worried me as the fried aspect would be too heavy but everything was light and satisfying. The chef fries the tempura in front of you as well so each entree comes out fresh every time. Some of my favorite dishes included the corn tempura. It was so buttery and delicious. The waygu melted in my mouth and was served on a hot stone in front of you and was very fun and interactive being able to cook it yourself. The lobster tempura was also on the top of the list. Very meaty and buttery with the perfect amount of crunch. Service was amazing as well. The server went above and beyond to make sure we were alright. The chef was friendly and highly skilled in his craft. Overall amazing experience. TIP: if you Uber there is no place to stop on the side of the road so they will have to drive up to the following light and you'll have to walk a bit. Not too much maybe a minute or so. I had to do that but it wasn't that bad but if you're wearing heels or uncomfortable shoes take note. Food: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Ambience: 8.5/10 (nicely traditionally decorated just a tad too bright)

The restaurant interior is worn, tired & depressing. The menu has sad & cheesy laminated pictures and is very very limited to only 3 prix fixe options ($200, $250 & $320). The $200 meal comes with only 2 pieces of salmon sashimi, mostly inedible fishy custards and nasty inedible broth soaked kombucha squash, okra & eggplant. The tempura lobster on the $320 menu was tasteless and dry. One server was trying to manage the 10 diners eating in separate rooms, and while she was working her ass off, it was clearly too much for one person. Tempura shrimp was tasty, as was the toro sashimi. All the other dishes, were not as good as Benihana, and just one step above frozen tempura from Trader Joe's. Beer & wine license only with ridiculously overpriced sake menu. $800 and 2.5 hours later - wish we would have spent the money on Chick-fil-A & an overnight @ The Peninsula.

I love the concept of a tempura bar but frankly a bit let down. The tempura is light and tasty but nothing spectacular except the uni tempura that was unique. I did not care for the mountain yam appetizer. Parking is a bit annoying that we had to park in a public lot and walk to the restaurant since they did not have valet parking which I expected at the price point. The bill was over $1000 for three people without alcohol.

Tempura Endo is an establishment from Kyoto, Japan. This location has been around Beverly Hills for about 5 years while the chef has been perfecting skill for over 30 years. The location does not offer parking but street parking nearby is fairly available. Once on the street, the restaurant sign is easy to spot. As we entered the restaurant, there is a large corridor, the staff and chef himself were very welcoming. Our reservation was not at the bar but still about 12 feet to see Chef in action. It actually felt more privacy, and perfect as we are celebrating birthday, so less social around the bar. There are three pre-set menu, the overall food portion is rather large, and with more add-on, it is x-large. We were able to get different sets and taste dishes with and without add on (e.g. scallop with and without uni). As these are fresh ingredients, we were able to compare and conclude that the dishes were delicious both ways. The additions sometimes may seem too much but having that surprise in first bite is what distinguish itself from plain presentation. My favorite dish was fresh eel with curry powder. It was flavorful, hot, crispy as well as melt in the mouth! Black truffle with sato ino (yam) is also super tasty! It was presented via a mysterious paper tower, I liked the design for the dish. Besides excellent food, the service was also superb throughout the meal. Thanks to the entire team on making my birthday memorable =)

I visited this place back in 2022 Nov for thanksgiving dinner. I would say this is an expensive place for sure, but I think the food quality is really one of the best! For the food, I love their scallops! All the fired tempura was was very thin and just cooked to prefect! My picture tells you a lot already :) You can rarely found a tempura omakase, but the service here is very nice! Very the environment is quiet and Japanese style.

We did the Hihashiyama with A5 Wagyu and lobster. Lots of food and we were stuffed at the end. Tempura dishes were absolutely delicious and unique. The only critique was that we were told to cook the Wagyu on the hot stone ourselves. Although it was fun to cook it ourselves, you'd expect the chef to do it for us, since it needs to be cooked perfectly for the Michelin standard. It's definitely the best tempura restaurant in LA.

This review is really past due. I came her In November 2019. It was a nice experience. They offer 3 different types of Omakase . I chose the $200 . I didn't realized that the food lives up to its name , almost everything was tempura style. Duh! So I couldn't finish my omakase . I couldn't have easily picked the $150 . Food was really good I guess next time. We were seating at the chef counter. What a privilege. He explained us every single meal in detail. Staff was very friendly. I love the bathroom , they have a Toto. Lol

Tempura Endo - Beverly Hills, Los Angeles Notice to all tempura lovers out there! Here's one you don't want to miss out, it's Tempura Endo at Beverly Hills. They got the right amount of fried batter to enhance the taste of their main ingredient with that crispy finish in every bite (that you love). It's known that exact temperatures and time are needed to make the best tempura, but don't miss out on the great service at Tempura Endo, a lot of it is in the good attitude and another not to miss ingredient is a wonderful ambience that you can perceive in their restaurant.

I took my girlfriend here, and I was not at all too impressed. We chose the most expensive selection, the HIGASHIYAMA Omakase, thinking we will get what we paid for, but I was a little disappointed. What attracted me to come here was the Wagyu Tempura. The photos on Yelp and even on their menu shows it. When asked if they serve this, they no longer have it, and they have changed their pre-fix menu. To me, this is false advertising, if they charge so high, why can't they at least afford to update the photo on their menu. What they have instead is a 3 paper thin slice of Wagyu, that we have to cook over a hot stone. It was good, but the amount was a tease. Yes it's true the tempura was probably the lightest and crispiest I've ever eaten in my life, but the amount of food offered did not equal to $320 per person. We were only given one piece of shrimp. Other than the tempura batter that was light and non-greasy, I will give them that, but the seafood was mediocre. There was no awe moment for me. The lobster was a little dry, and did not bring the sweet and fresh ocean taste for an expensive restaurant. People who eat fresh seafood knows what I mean. I understand frying might lose the freshness, but they need to figure this out to retain it, by not overcooking. I believe the chef missed this time and temperature control. Also the group of patron at the bar was very noisy. I believe they were Indonesian, but was very loud. Just to be fair, it was only one guy in the group was speaking very loud in their native language. It totally ruined the ambience, and our enjoyment of our meal. It was very distracting on every bite of my food! I would not recommend coming here unless you have disposable income. You can get better quality food and ambiance elsewhere less than a quarter of the price. For example, Yama Seafood Market in San Gabriel, you can get Hokkaido Scallops for less than $2 a piece at a comfort of your home.

This tempura restaurant is the top tempura restaurant in Los Angeles. From 2018 until now, I have been eating tempura at this restaurant. The thin coating that you want to eat locks in the moisture of the food. I also like this wine. When I drink it, it feels a bit spicy and not so smooth, but I feel very comfortable in my stomach. Some wines are very smooth to drink and have too much stamina. I like this gentle one. I feel like I am completely in love with sake now. If you are underage, don't drink. The name of the restaurant is tempura Endo. The bottle of wine is 1200$. The meal is 280$ per person plus 25% tip. The two of us spent over 2000$ plus tip.

Finally checked this place off my list! I didn't get to visit while I was in Japan, this is the very next best thing! My favorites were the corn (very first WOW of the night), the uni (Mmmmm), the Wagyu, the lobster (worth every extra penny!), even the udon was super yummy! I thought the bathroom could be attended a little better... overall the experience was great! definitely recommended to splurge and visit at least once!

They happened to have a Sunday Supper special -- a three-course meal with appetizer, main course, and dessert. Perfect for girls like us who don't eat too much, but honestly, it was still more than enough. It also happened to be my bestie's birthday week, and they surprised us with the cutest birthday dessert: chocolate-wrapped ice cream shaped like a coffee bean. So tasty and adorable. The service was attentive and very polished -- exactly what you would expect from an upscale Beverly Hills restaurant. I also loved the lighting: the perfect shade, not too bright and not too dark, making it great for a casual dinner, romantic date, or even a business meal. It's definitely a place I would come back to with more friends so we can try more dishes. A perfect stop after shopping on Rodeo Drive.

The ambience at Marea is beautiful, especially the amber lit bar area. There is both indoor and outdoor seating for dining. The Easter menu had a wide variety of items, and was a 3 course fixed price menu. We both chose the charred avocado toast with lump crab as the starter, and the lobster roll with buratta, basil and eggplant as the main course. Before bringing the first course out, we were given a basket of room temperature regular and chocolate croissants, and strawberry pastries. It was very odd to serve sweet pastries before a savory meal vs a normal bread basket. At least they could have been served warm. The avocado toast had a lot of potential given the generous portion of lump crab, but the heavy char on both the avocado and the bread overwhelmed the dish and the delicate flavor of the crab was lost. The lobster roll also had potential with a light buttery bun, but the addition of a soupy burrata and the other ingredients made the small amount of lobster take a back seat. The menu did accurately describe the dish so perhaps I should have chosen more carefully. Dessert is where the meal really shined. We ordered one each of the 2 desserts offered, the blackberry budino and the lemon raspberry crostada. Wow, they were delicious and almost too beautiful to eat! Kudos to the pastry chef. We received great service, however the table next to us and a few others were complaining that they had been there for 2 hours and still hadn't been served their entire meal. Overall, the food was a 3.5 (5 for the dessert), and ambience and service was 5 stars.

He was informative about our selections giving honest feedback and attentive to the needs of our group. I will say the food not inexpensive but what food really is these days. We ordered a plethora of dishes. Starting with the tuna neck tin. While I'm new to the tin game, I couldn't imagine what a $90 tin tasted like, now I know and I'm not sure I can eat anything less. Appetizers we started with the baked scallop special with chorizo, the caviar fries and the caviar dip. The baked scallop was delicious and the cause dip with the salt vinegar chips was fantastic. I could still dip more chips in that dish. I chose between the mussels and the fried fish sandwich. Alex recommended the fish not because it was better than the mussels. But because you just can't get a fried fish sandwich like theirs. I agree. The fry breading they have is top notch and the size of the sandwich literally has me full still 7 hours later. I substituted the fries for a lightly dressed side salad and loved it all. Besides, other folks had chips and fries to share. Other dishes were the fried and cold lobster rolls. The bagel breakfast plate and fish and chips. We even got dessert which was the pistachios tiramisu and the strawberry cake. Both good but the tiramisu was next level. All washed down with a winter sangria Maybe that's why I am still full. See you again, saltie girl.
