Ferrucio un ragú sauce- muy delicioso... ordered this one a 2nd time

We definitely recommend this restaurant-reasonably priced, delicious meals. We tried several types of pizzas, pastas, the Pollo ala Romano, and steak. All delicioso! We'd come back again and highly recommend! Update: we liked this restaurant so much we came back for our last night in Rome --it did not disappoint! Highly recommend!

Pasta pasta pasta! It's crazy how back home in the US I rarely eat pasta, but in Italy boy was that a different story. While I was in Italy I was on the hunt for the best most delicious pasta there is. I tried multiple places across Rome, even in Trastevere, where it is revered as the best area. My overall favorite from all the places I've tried, was Tempio di Mecenate. The sauce was delicious, well balanced, and fresh. Trust me I've tried a ridiculous amount of places while in Rome, and the pasta here was out of this world. The prices are reasonably priced and a liter of wine is only ten euros which is a bargain. The only reason why four out of five stars, is because the service can lack on occasions and wish it was better. Despite this, your meal is always worth it! Enjoy my fellow pasta lovers.

I stopped here for Italian pizza on 07-30-2018, I highly recommend this ristorante, my margarita pizza was one of the best tasting pizza that I've had. The waiters here are excellent, very friendly, the service is great, the outdoor seating is wonderful. I will definitely return here when I return to visit Rome.

During my trip to Rome, I made a new friend who was traveling solo, and we decided to get some dinner and experience the traditional Italian way of eating dinner since we already ate pizza that day. One of the most frustrating experiences in Rome is finding a good value restaurant that is not expensive and serves good quality food. We walked around, and decided to eat here mainly because we wanted eat dinner badly. We ordered the following: Spaghetti alla Carbonara - A quintessential Roman Italian dish. €8.50. Lombatta di Vitella - I decided to get some veal. This is a T-Bone pork chop. €13.50. Ravioli - My friend really wanted to order this dish. €9. Vitello Tonnato - Veal doused in tuna sauce. My friend decided to get this. €12.50. The spaghetti was really good, almost "al dente" style pasta. I really liked the creaminess of the sauce, giving the pasta a nice flavour. The veal steak was freshly cooked, and very tender. It was probably one of the most tender pork dishes I have eaten. My friend enjoyed the Ravioli and I thought it was not bad after eating a piece. The tomato sauce was good and I liked the softness of the pasta. The Veal in Tuna sauce was tender, and tasty, but the presentation looked very unimpressive. The staff does not seem to know English, so we had to point to which dish we wanted and pronounce the proper Italian words to them. The location is decent, it's near the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele station of the Rome Metro. The interior is nice, the setting is good for a dinner appointment. Overall, my new friend and I had a tasty Italian dinner, and we were very satisfied, but it was fairly expensive. The main reason I am giving this place a good rating is because I thought the food was actually tasty and the service was actually effective. It's not a bad choice to get some food, but I may not come back here again if I am on a really tight budget.

My husband and I both agreed this was the best meals of our lives. He got the gnocchi a la ragu and described it as "fluffy potato clouds of heaven." The sauce was delectable and had tons of meat. I got the amatriciana pasta and it was so rich, with tons of bacon. It was so good we went twice!

Nice servers, but that's about it. The wine was terrible and the food was below average. The only reason I came here is because the restaurant I wanted to go to was fully booked. I imagine that why most everyone there was there for the same reason. I became pretty sick later on in the evening but I have a feeling that had more to do with the poor quality wine. Make reservations elsewhere to avoid eating here.

    Fettuccine with mushroom. So tasty!

The service was great. The pasta was way too salty that I couldn't even eat it but the fish dish my grandmother ordered was good.

When we arrived on a late afternoon, we waited about 10 minutes before getting seated. To start off, we got the Limoncello Spritz (€10) and Aperol Spritz (€10), which were refreshing. For our pasta, we ordered the Fettuccine with Oxtail (€18) and Carbonara (€17). We also wanted to order two more Secondi dishes, but the waiter warned us that the pasta is filling. After we finished the pasta, we did still order the Rabbit (€19) because it wasn't something we usually see on the menu. For the carbonara, the flavor was delicious but not really my favorite pasta shape. It was also quite al dente with a chewy texture. I have to say that the oxtail was spectacular though with its juicy and tender meat sauce. While the rabbit was nice to try once, it was a bit dry with minimal meat. Overall, good spot but nothing worth waiting too long for. Also, I'd stick to the pasta here as it's all handmade. You even see them handrolling them inside. Note that they also charge €2 per person for service fee already.

I also had the berry cheesecake, and it was just as amazing. Light, creamy, not too sweet, and the berry topping tied everything together perfectly. Pure heaven from start to finish. From the food to the experience, this place is a must when you're in Rome. I'd come back again and again without hesitation.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.
