Buyer beware, they pulled a switcheroo on me. They showed up and decided against pulling into my yard like we had other crane do, whatever, they have to decide whats best for their equipment. However, "lucky for me" another larger crane was close by and had a cancellation so was available if I agreed to the increase price and trip fee, I did agree so as not to loose the day and the help I hired that was on the clock already $$$. It ended up being 3x price of original quote for the larger crane. I feel bamboozled and called to see if the trip fee could be negotiated after the fact and they were unwilling. Talk about a bait and switch! Hire another service you have a lot of options for cranes out here in AZ! read more

We decided to redo our BBQ area and wanted to add a nice pizza oven. We thought we could manage the different trades ourselves, so we didn't hire a contractor for this project. Most of the work went smoothly, including finding an oven I liked online and having it built for us. I wanted a fully assembled one, but that meant it would be quite large, and more complicated to get delivered and installed. The manufacturer was quite clear that it would be up to the buyer to get the shipment off the truck and into place. Several people suggested that we hire crane to lift it off the truck and onto the island created for it, so I contacted Smiley first. The person I spoke to on the phone seemed annoyed with me, stated that they would require I hire a licensed contractor to do all of the rigging for the crane, direct the crane operator, and assume all the liability of the job before they would put me on their schedule. I decided to see if all crane companies worked like this, so I found a review for Tempe Crane that seemed to have a similar experience with Smiley, so I contacted Tempe Crane. From the first call with Casey where I got an estimate, to coordinating with Terry, to the amazing service from Mike and his team (allowing me to have the oven delivered directly to their lot instead of my house, where I would additionally need to rent a forklift). And of course, the team that delivered my oven and craned it into place, Elias, Derrick, and Shane. This is an incredible business. Because most contractors tend to work with commercial customers, their demeanor tends to be a bit crusty. Most contractors aren't very polite, won't call you back and generally don't keep to their word. That is not Tempe Crane. I needed a very large pizza oven delivered. All of the people I spoke with at Tempe Crane were polite, professional, prompt and followed-through. They are also one of the very few vendors I've dealt with who don't have a multi-week or month lead-time. The entire experience was amazing. Beyond their extremely friendly demeanor, my pizza oven was placed within 1/16" inch plumb, center and level. This is because their crew didn't just drop off my oven, but took an extraordinary amount of time to make certain that it was placed correctly. This is a 4,000lb oven and was no small feat. They were even more particular than me! Prior to delivery, they took the initial freight shipment of my oven and noticed some crate damage. They held the driver so I could get there and check it out. After delivery, the offered to take the crate away. Who does that? I cannot say enough amazing things about this amazing business. They truly make the world a better place and serve as the high water mark for service in any industry. read more

I spoke with Billy back in Oct. and he came and did an estimate for my swim spa delivery. Gave me a quote and held onto it till I knew my Spa was ready for delivery from Florida. I mentioned sometime in Jan or Feb and first of January Diane called and asked if I had a date yet. I didn't but glad she followed by up. Once I got my date, I was in direct communication with her and Terry. I had to coordinate with Truck delivery too and they were a day later then expected but we got it figured out for Sat. Then it was changed when they arrived earlier and I contacted them and they were able to send their crane crew over after their other job. Not sure how their jobsite service is, but their management has responsibility issues. One of their trucks was dropping rocks all over the highway, after the first rock hit the windshield we saw rocks bouncing from their truck chipping windshields of those behind. I have used Tempe Crane on several occasions with my business Heartwood Tree Care for tree removals in tight spots. They are always on time and well organized when I use them. Their operators are fantastic and the communication is great. They have always sent out a spotter as well as the operator and if I'm unsure on the size of crane needed they will send out an estimator to get it right. These guys are pros! That being said, the tree climber still should be well trained and experienced before attempting a crane job as that responsibility is solely on the tree company. read more

Can't say enough good things about this company. From the person answering the phones to the crane riggers and operators. ALL extremely friendly, helpful and professional. I've used them twice and will definitely use them again. They took a 20ft bass boat off a trailer and flipped it over allowing me to paint the bottom of the boat. Under no circumstance would i recommend this company . I hired them five years ago to move a marble table so I reached out to them again. They told me in order to move it they required a 'professional mover' to move it from one room to where the crane would pick it up. They arrived with their professional mover . That professional mover dropped and shattered a marble table valued at no less than $10,000 . Their so called mover showed up wearing flip flops and shattered what had been a one of a kind signed piece of art/table. They now deny all responsibility saying I had options . They brought this person to me and gave me no options . In fact when i said I wanted my own mover and truck , that was not allowed. read more

I am a first time container buyer, and needed to move my container about 6 feet to the side of where it was originally dropped off on my property. I got a quote from Tempe crane after explaining the size of container and where it needed to be moved. I had also called in early to let them know specific directions to our property as maps sometimes routes to the wrong place. The driver got lost, and was late arriving. He then quickly realized he didn't have the equipment needed to belly wrap the container and move it as a 30 ft container is a customized size and he had to call in for support for another guy to come. We waited 30 minutes for him to arrive and they moved the container. After completion they end up talking for 15 minutes, and then I get my paperwork and they are charging me for $125 more than what they quoted, as I am paying $800 for a job to move a container 6 feet that was quoted at $675. The driver recommended I call and talk to Terry the owner, and she would work with me on the final cost, and asked me to sign the paperwork. I called and talked to owner and she wouldn't honor quote and thought what we were charged was fair. Very disappointed in the execution and customer service of this company. read more

I can't say enough kind words about this company and the employees. We had a cumbersome situation bringing in a 90 ton crane up our dirt curved driveway to lift an ironwood field dug boxed tree onto a specific part of our patio. While the initial inspection appeared it would not be a problem, it took a great deal of patience and maneuvering to make it work. Dewey & Joe were super guys and failing was not an option. We had Tempe Crane come out to assist our company with a tree job. We called well in advance and described the job in detail to their scheduler. When the day came to start the job they showed up and could not set up. Their solution was to charge me over twice as much for a larger crane. We let them know we would find someone else. A month later there was a $90 charge on my credit card. They had kept this on file from a previous job. We did not authorize this payment. They instead decided to comp their own drivers time by fraudulently charging my card. Way to go Tempe Crane. I will be disputing this charge. They tried to pull a sneaky one and were caught.
