Coconut shake

We've been to Teddy's Restaurant & Deli a few times, and we were so excited to go back and try their new menu items! Our experience was awesome and our waitress, Tracy, was the sweetest--so friendly and genuinely attentive. She made us feel like we were right at home. That kind of service just makes you want to keep coming back (that's why we're back~)! Teddy's has been a local staple for over a couple decades, and it's easy to see why. The portions are huge, the prices are great, and the vibe is so cozy, like you're eating in a family kitchen. Every time we come here, a lineup is a normal sight. Here's what we got into this time around: New Menu Items: Avocado Turkey Club Melt: This was a total hit! Creamy avocado, juicy turkey, and perfectly toasted bread--it was fresh, filling, and delicious. Teddy's Cobb Salad: Super satisfying! Packed with fresh ingredients and plenty of protein, this salad is great if you're in the mood for something a bit lighter but still filling. Blueberry Crumble Cheesecake (Limited Time): Wow, this dessert was everything we hoped for! Creamy cheesecake with a blueberry topping and the perfect crumble. It's a must-try if you're a cheesecake fan--grab it while it's on the menu! And of course, we couldn't leave without ordering some classics: Coconut Dreams Shake: This shake tastes like a tropical vacation in a glass! So creamy and full of coconut flavor. Perfect treat to go with the meal! Classic Hot Sandwich (Mom's all-time fave): Total comfort food. The tender meat, soft bread, and rich gravy are just right. Mom gets it every time and never regrets it! Strawberry Pie (my favorite): I can't leave Teddy's without a slice of this. The crust is perfectly flaky, and the strawberries are so fresh. It's the best way to end a meal here. So, whether you're trying their new items or sticking with the classics, Teddy's is always a win. If you're in Oshawa, you've gotta stop by! You'll leave happy, full, and probably already planning your next visit.

On our way back from Ottawa, I knew I wanted to stop in at Teddy's for a quick lunch. When I lived in the area, I always really enjoyed the place and I was curious if it was as solid as I remembered. It sure is. We showed up shortly after they opened at 11:00 and the place was already half full. We snagged a nice booth near the back of the restaurant and I began searching through their extensive menu. I remembered that the platters were all enormous and I wasn't quite hungry enough for that, so I was happy to discover that they now have a "For Small Appetites" section. I decided to go with the Roast Sirloin ("Slow-cooked overnight, 6oz portion smothered in Mushroom Beef Sauce, served with Horseradish"). I got that with a garden salad and a side of fries. First up was the salad, which I was the most excited about. It's all about that house dressing, which is still delicious and weirdly addictive. (Of course I bought a bottle to take home!) The main arrived shortly after and it's really good. The meat is very tender and tasty, the fries are piping hot, and that delicious gravy ties everything together. It's still a really big portion, too, and of course I ate everything. Here's hoping Teddy's continues to never change.

We went to Teddy's for lunch today, the decor is kind of old looking but I like it. I had the grilled cheese on brown bread. It was good, it tastes very similar to every other grilled cheese sandwich you get at other places but all grilled cheese's taste the same. The bread was perfectly grilled and the cheese was melted nicely. It could have been melted a little more but it's fine. Fries came with it and they are so delicious. I had a small salad also. It was good but I wish there was more tomatoes. I tried some gravy and it was pretty good. The service was good and the staff were nice.- MS This place even after owner change hasn't deviated from the foundation of good food at affordable price points. The decor is still the same, the servers have updated uniforms but the food and quality and quantity is still top notch. I had the turkey dinner and even though the stuffing looked a little weird the food was fantastic. Tons of turkey, great mashed potatoes and tasty stuffing and gravy. I love the salad with the house dressing because the recipe hasn't changed. Wife had this massive salad with potato salad which she really enjoyed. It's not a place you can go every week- but for once a month stop..it is a great restaurant with great service and comfort food. - SS

I have been to Teddy's many times over the years. Surprised I've never left a review. Be prepared on a weekend or a weekday during the lunch rush to have a lineup to get in. Yes it's that good, and it's worth the wait. The line generally moves quick and you can choose from one of their many dishes. This time we opted for: BBQ Beef Melt with roast potatoes Clubhouse and coleslaw Pizza Burger with roast potatoes All of the portions were enormous. The open face pizza food was superb. The BBQ Beef Melt was loaded with meat on a fresh bun. We didn't get any pie this time but I'm a huge fan of the strawberry pie and my other half loves the coconut cream pie. It's 10/10. If you're looking for tasty food with sizeable portions, Teddy's is the place

My sweetie and I are on our Pumpkinfest Weekend Tour! Stopped for lunch at Teddy's Restaurant & Deli, a local Oshawa favourite. Dined on Teddy's Philly Burger (upgraded from 7 to a 10oz patty) and a Smoked Meat Sandwich on Rye. Added the daily soup of Chicken Vegetable. Our server Maureen was patient with us rhyming off all the specials and meal options. Terrific food, service, restaurant decor and ambiance. Couldn't leave without trying Teddy's famous Coconut Cream Pie plus a Strawberry Pie! Oh my goodness...WOW!

Montreal smoked meat sandwich

Dropped in for weekday lunch around noon and there was already a line up. Thankfully the line up moved quickly and we were seated within 20 minutes. Their menu is extensive with deli/family restaurant favorites. I opted for the Montreal smoked meat sandwich with fries and gravy and my lunch mate ordered a hot turkey sandwich with a side of fries, corn and cream of potato soup. Food arrived quickly and the portions were hefty. We were both able to finish less than half of our lunch. Everything tasted as expected with the turkey gravy being too bland and regular gravy (for my fries) being too salty. Cream of potato soup was tasty and and chunky. I liked that their Montreal smoked meat wasn't too salty. We shared a strawberry pie with whipped cream (extra) which was loaded with plump strawberries. It was probably the best strawberry pie I've ever had. Along with good food and friendly staff makes Teddy's a great place for a comforting meal with excellent value for your hard earned $$. I will be back.

When going to this place there was a little line of people waiting to get seated but it went by fast. The waitress we had was so friendly and polite. The food was delicious and it was huge portions. My family enjoyed their dishes too. My sister who lives in Oshawa would be coming back here again. I recommend you trying here for a cozy good family atmosphere.

One of my favourite shows of all time is Seinfeld. This restaurant gives off Seinfeld ambiance and I was ecstatic when I saw it. It's been around for quite some time and is a staple in Oshawa. The portion size is incredible and the quality was amazing. The server was very helpful and rather kind. I recommend the mashed potatoes, and the coconut cream pie and the strawberry pie. They are also known for their turkey dinner as well as their burgers

It is a small joint with maybe 10 -12 tables (some booths) being run by two very lovely ladies who were really helpful. We opted for a medium Canadian walk in special, spaghetti and meatballs with a side of garden salad. You need to order at the front and sit down and they call you when the food is ready. I did not try the pizza but my daughter really enjoyed their Canadian. My spaghetti and meatballs came with excellent meatballs but it was a little too saucy for my liking. We only got to sample a bit of the salad but the roasted red pepper that come with the salad was a nice and sweet and you could tell it was roasted in house, not the sour stuff that come out of a jar. Our overall experience was pretty good but I think at this price point, I expected a little more like real plates and cutlery maybe? I didn't love eating my pasta with disposable wooden fork that came pre-packaged with a wooden knife, napkin and a salt and pepper packet which seemed more wasteful than anything. I would come back to try out their sandwiches next time and skip the pasta.

We excitedly tried here today. We ordered: Wings $7.29 * Six Wings * Sauce on Wings * Medium Sauce Medium Margherita Pizza $19.65 Veal Sandwich $11.99 The pizza had fresh basil leaves, fresh tomato & sauce. Mozzarella was not fresh mozzarella. The crust was not Naopolitan style, but tasty with a good texture. Not thick, not thin. This crust may go better with other toppings. The wings are reasonably priced, and not dry. The sauce was good. I had high expectations for their Veal Sandwich, as it is highly reputed. I liked the fluffy Kaiser bun - not flat, not soggy in spite of the saucy fillings. Yes, there were multiple layers of veal cutlets but they lacked veal taste. All I tasted was the deep-fried crust coated with tomato sauce. The size was big, and it is "filling" for sure. Although I was a bit disappointed, I think I had too high an expectation from the reputations. If I want something different from those famous chain pizza joints, this place is definitely to go!

Ryan is the founder of the business, which he runs with family and friends. We got to meet Riott, his son, who had a love for skulls and all Halloween decorations at this eatery. This place specializes in sandwiches. Many of their meats are slow-cooked for ten hours. Sauces, soups, and slaw are homemade. We ordered many items off the menu and had what we liked: - Jalapeno and house slaws - Chickpea and ham soup - Roasted garlic and tomato soup - The Brooklyn (Italian) - Hot corned beef - Montreal smoked meat - Slicey's chopped chicken - Chicken club wrap I started with the hot corned beef sandwich. The corned beef was generous and so flavourful. The rye bread held all that tender corned beef together, along with the best grainy mustard aioli. I am a soup girl. I enjoyed the roasted garlic and tomato soup. It had the perfect amount of garlic with tomatoes, along with onions and spices. It was a comforting, smooth soup. The chickpea and ham soup was excellent. It had nice cubes of ham with chickpeas. It was so hearty and delicious. I also love slaw. The jalapeno and house slaws were crunchy. The former was creamy with a touch of heat. The latter was vinegar-based. You get the best of both slaw dressing worlds! I then had the Montreal smoked meat. It was full of the most tender smoked meat on rye bread with mustard. So good! I'm not sure how I managed to down Slicey's chopped chicken sandwich. It was so good that I did! It had slow-cooked chicken that was chopped with tomato, and red onion. It included the jalapeno slaw, along with white cheddar. It was messy to eat, but so worth it. The flavours were outstanding. This business supports other local businesses. The bread comes from a local bakery. It also features Purple Tongue hot sauces. Staff are super friendly and kind. They can craft a sandwich to your liking if you go with The Riott. There were two separate washroom stalls. I used one of them before I left this eatery. It was clean. No complaints. It's a comfortable place to hang out with friends over good food and drinks. I ended up having a Diet Coke and Crush cream soda during the two hours that we were here. They were cold and refreshing. It's street parking for three hours. It's free, which is nice. Alternatively, there is a parking lot across from this eatery. I look forward to returning for more good eats and soup. It's a gem of a sandwich place that happens to have awesome soups and slaw. (391)
