This is our second visit to this restaurant. Our first experience was very enjoyable, but this time was quite disappointing. I ordered a medium rare sirloin steak, but it appeared to be cooked closer to medium well or even well done. I double-checked with the waitress, and she confirmed that I had indeed ordered medium rare. After looking at the steak, she asked if it was overcooked and if I was okay with it. A nice location for the restaurant. Coming from Pickering, using a GPS it was a bit hard to find. The Ambiance is very mellow, relaxing and warm. It wasn't busy, so waiting to be served took no time at all. Our server was very polite and making jokes with our table, a lovely overall vibe from them. We ordered our drinks and swiftly received them, sadly on the menu for nonalcoholic drinks, the Burly Shirley Temple says it comes with sour keys, and it didn't. (maybe a menu error?) Once we ordered our appetizer and meals, it took only ten minutes for our appetizer to arrive, the Four Cheese Spinach dip, and it was very nice, the dip was great and choosing for the pita to be fried made the pairing go even better. Our meals came shortly after, and they were divine! The Roadside Alla Bourbon was delicious, a light but filling meal. As someone who sticks to chicken strips and fries, I was hesitant, but I promise this meal is worth the voyage. It takes like a meal you'd have on an breezes day by the beachside in June. Very good, possibly one of the best pasta dishes I've had. Our meals were so filling, our plan for dessert had to be canceled. Went for lunch a week ago with a friend and kids. We waited for about 10 minutes for a server to come and I went to the back to look for someone. The place was not busy. They came out when they saw me and we were seated. A server came a few minutes later, i think Katelyn, but perhaps christine, didnt hear her properly. We ordered our food and when mine came it had no s alad dressing on it so I asked for some and she said with a sigh, I will get you some more. I said no, I just want "some" as there was none. My friends salad had none either, but she ate it anyway. One of the other lunches, kids pizza came out with fries and they looked and tasted like they were refried/cooked. There were so bad the child did't even eat them. Now I know why I don't go there. read more

It's a new location in the franchise just opened up, and so as such has a lot of teething problems. The food generally is nice, although something in the funnel cake fries dessert has given my kids diarrhoea immediately after eating both times they tried it. There are a multitude of TV screens showing various sports channels, which is a plus in my opinion, but they also have background music playing so loud that at times it can be hard to hear your conversation with those at your table. Whilst I was there the tables were only about a third full and it was loud. I dread to think how loud it would be should the place get full. My biggest gripe so far is that for some inexplicable reason they make all guests wait in the foyer for 10-20 minutes even when there are a multitude of tables free. When I arrived yesterday I was told a 10 minute wait, even though there was only one table on the patio actually in use, and inside the restaurant less than 30% of those tables had guests sat at them. Our server initially was friendly, then started clearing up our desserts before we had finished eating. When my wife pointed that out to her she swore in front of our kids, but made no apology for her profanity. I'm willing to give this place another try, but they need to improve on their service if I'm to become a regular. read more

Worst service ever. We went for lunch because the neighboring Baxters Landing was not open yet. We had by far the worst experience I have had at a restaurant. It was about half an hour from when we ordered our food to when we got it. All we ordered was 3 burgers and chicken fingers with fries along with 2 sides of gravy. When we got our food, they forgot to put pickles on my fathers burger and guacamole on my mothers chicken burger (Build a burger). They only brought one side of gravy and when we were seated we were not given cutlery. We actually had to ask for cutlery. We had to remind them about the second side of gravy. I would also like to mention my fries were undercooked and the chicken fingers were burnt. The server was MIA for the most part and the restaurant was virtually empty so I am not sure why our food took as long as it did considering people who came after us got their food before us. I would not recommend this place to a death row inmate and was thoroughly embarrassed to take my family there. I actually contemplated walking out and going to the food court in the mall. I want to start off saying I love Kelseys food... But the new mall location has turned me away for a while. This evening I went in to the store and waited and waited and waited. And that was just to get the water.. Service is super slow. And the food was cold and not good. I will say when the noticed I was not eating my food they offered to comp my dish, with me even asking. Came here once a while ago and was not very impressed. Our food was not very good and we had to wait a very very long time on a day that was not busy at all. When our food finally came out it was not hot and fresh at all. We had to send a few things back to be remade. However our waitress was great, so nice! And the manager did come out to personally apologize about the issues. But I don't think we would go back again. read more

After the renovation and relocation within the OC things have definitely improved for this Kelsey's location. The staff are great and prompt, and the food and selection is drastically more impressive than what existed previously. I will admit when my friends suggested Kelsey's I put up a bit of a fuss, but was reassured that I would not die from eating there - oh the contrary! I'm glad I gave it another shot - because the burgers (I've been back twice since my initial visit) are my favourite! The all day breakfast burger is a must try for anyone up for the messy challenge. I definitely will be going back again and recommended it to anyone who's asking - particularly if you're unsure. I'm not one to write reviews on restaurants because I've been a server for so long but after this experience I feel like I have to. Let me just start with this: the food was amazing. The chefs back there get more than 5 stars. Our service however, was horrible start to finish. Firstly, we walked in we waited at the host stand quite long. One girl walked towards us, made eye contact and said NOTHING. She just looked at us all confused, like we were ghosts and continued to walk by us. I understand if you're busy, but at least say "hi someone will be right with you." The hostess finally came and sat us on the patio, where we didn't get a server greeting us for over 15 minutes. And lucky for us, when we finally did get a server, it was the girl who originally ignored us at the host stand. She never apologized for the wait, just asked us for drink orders. By this time we were ready to order food as well, so we did. Myself and my boyfriend ordered a couple of beers, and we ordered the bourbon bbq burger and the chicken fingers. I asked for no tomato on the burger and for it to be cut in half. My boyfriend asked about the angry fries, where she didn't really know what they were and said she'd ask. She never came back. Our food came around not too long after and my burger had tomatoes on it and was not cut in half. I didn't want to complain however, I just asked the girl who dropped off the food (someone different) for some side plates...those never came. Our server didn't come back until the end of our meals (no quality check) where our food and drinks were done. We ordered another around of beers, and as she cleared our plates a knife slipped off and hit me in the stomach before hitting the floor. I know it was just an accident, and normally I would never get mad at something like that but after the horrible service that kind it topped it off for me. We got our check right away and left. We've been here before and got amazing service from a gentlemen, she however told us she was new and I tried to be sympathetic but any server could've at least put a smile on their face and apologized for mistakes. read more

Me and my friend had an extremely unpleasant experience here at the Oshawa Centre tonight and I wouldn't recommend coming to this location unless you want them to mess up your bill, give your gift card to someone else and do nothing about it despite the 1/2 hour of inconvenience. Firstly, our server S had sent us a large beer in mistake and said that he would be giving us the difference (which was only 1.13) - this was not a big deal. Our dinner was enjoyable, being on the patio was great. We ordered fries at the start and didn't get it until halfway through the meal when we asked for them again. This was also fine. We understand that it gets busy and empathize completely with the staff. Things started to go downhill when we ask for the bill and showed our $50 gift card (which was brand new). S took it away and returned stating that there was only 11.57 cents on it. Naturally I say, 'oh wow, we got a gift card that was used!' Which was not the case! S said "I hate when that happens" After contemplating and confused I went back to the server (who seemed to be avoiding our table at this point) and asked for the gift card we gave him. He took a few minutes and came back with an empty gift card that was not ours. The one we had said $50 on it, the one he gave us was a different card. So I went back to find him to tell him that was NOT the card we gave him. He started looking around, through the garbage and then said he will be one moment when he couldn't find it. Turned out he had used someone else's gift card for our bill and our gift card for someone else's bill. So another customer walked away with more money in their pocket and we ended up wasting our time. We are not ones to make a fuss over anything because mistakes are made but no one seemed apologetic and once he determined the mistake, he simply credited the difference from the bill onto the other customers gift card that he pulled from the garbage and gave it to us with the difference: 38.43. It was a terrible experience and the server S never gave us the 1.13 for the mistake he made with the beer. All of this combined prompted me to speak to the general manager J who said he would try to fix it, didn't and instead gave us a coupon for %15 off. I explained to him that I was extremely unhappy, we wasted our time, no one was apologetic. He got a little defensive with me and said he already reimbursed us the 38.43. It was not reimbursement we were owed that money and if we didn't say anything or ask for the card back we would have walked away 38.43 short. Needless to say we will not be returning here. I told J this and he did not mind at all. It felt like the team did not care about our experience, the fact that another customer walked away with more money in their pocket and we were left with a headache, a terrible experience and a used reloadable gift card that was pulled out of the garbage. Yes Kelsey's is a big chain and I know not all locations are like this but this was a extremely poor experience. Think twice about going to the one at the Oshawa Centre! read more

I do not usually take time to write reviews but feel it necessary. This was our second visit to this location. First time was when it first opened. The food was okay, nothing special however the most annoying thing was the loud music! It was so loud that we could not hear what each other was saying. We found ourselves eating our food fast so that we could get out of there. We agreed to never return. Well we were in Mall this past Saturday and we were looking for a place to eat. Foolishly we decided to give this restaurant another chance assuming that things might be different by now. Once again the food was nothing special, over priced and slow service. Once again the music was ridiculously loud! We would try to talk to each other but could hardly hear what the other was saying. Last night was my second visit to this Kelsey's, I woke up violently ill after eating their chicken Parmesan on a bun. Service wasn't that great waiter kept switching first it was some guy we didn't get his name and then some lady named deb they messed everything up between the two of them and then when we needed drink refills or extra sour cream with nachos we had to wait a hour to flag her down and ask for it then wait another hour to get them for us so after a struggle getting the right bill as the two waitress and waiter messed it up putting things where they don't belong and paying we left Kelsey's unpleased and and unsatisfied with the mediocre food and service if your in a hurry or they look even a little busy don't visit this place they must of undercooked my chicken because I am sicker then a dog read more

First time dining at a Kelsey's Restaurant and the service wasn't that great. I have reserved a table for 25 people a week in advance and when I got there the servers had no idea what I was talking about let alone my friend who was there before I even showed up had to show a facebook event page saying the dinner was at the Kelsey's Restaurant. They told us they were only seating 18 people because thats what it said on the facebook event I had made. It took forever for the food to arrive and I felt we were being rushed to be served. They didn't make my steak right or my boyfriend's steak correct. I had to catch the server's attention to get a drink as well. Also when I called to make a reservation it didn't feel welcoming and felt like the person on the other end didn't write any info down to say I reserved it and was being rushed. Also even confirmed I was reserving at the right Kelsey's at the Oshawa Centre. I wouldn't recommend going to this Kelsey's Restaurant. read more
