I placed our regular order through Skip the Dishes, only to have it canceled. When I called, I was told they no longer use Skip and that I needed to order directly or through Uber Eats. I ordered directly to save money -- only to discover our usual order was 38% more expensive (nobody informed us of price changes during the call). The price increases are extreme. The spaghetti bolognese went from $13.50 to $24.00, a 77.8% increase in one step. The Caesar salad jumped from $8.95 to $14.00 -- and what we received was only half a salad (see photo). I spoke with the manager to ask about the pricing and was told they hadn't raised prices in 15 years and needed to keep the doors open. There was no acknowledgment that increases of this size -- without warning or portion transparency -- risk losing long‑time, loyal customers. It was clear this did not matter. The food is still good, but the pricing, portions, and dismissive attitude have made it very difficult to continue supporting this restaurant.

Visited at the recommendation of a pasta-loving friend! It had been a while since we've dined here,…read moreso we weren't sure what to expect. Service was a bit slow, but it was the weekend, so that could account for it. We ordered the mussels as a starter, followed by a seafood linguine and chicken pesto cream pasta. The mussels and the broth were rich in flavour, and of the two pastas, we definitely preferred the seafood linguine for the lighter tomato-based sauce. The pesto cream was too heavy, and I found that it overpowered the dish. I think I would have preferred a regular pesto without the cream.

However--if the first couple who arrives is a) older and b) clearly has a member with mobility issues, why would you choose to seat them at the most awkward table in the house, which involved mildly hoisting oneself up to get into the chairs, and then realizing that the chairs are too small for the table. That sort of weird aesthetic. Then the second couple shows up with a baby. Stroller will be a foot or so well below eye level, and no chance of a high chair. "Could we please move to one of the many tables outside instead?" Should not be greeted by snark, nasty asides, and cursory eye rolling. Grow up. This went on throughout the whole meal. To hell with you, who should have been old enough (late 30s?) to know better. Why not enforce the no-smoking policy better, instead? You let three guys in shirts that last fit them in middle school smoke within 10 feet of us. And the baby.

Finding a parking a bit tough but I found a spot in the residential area near by where parking is free around lunch time during the weekend. We ordered: # Chitarra: Thick pasta noodles with "slow cooked bell peppers in tomato sauce" with black olives, capers, hot pepper, white anchovy fillets with breadcrumbs. Super savory with nice sour/hot kicks. Chitarra arrived al-dente, leaving a satisfying firmness to the bite. This is perfect for the heavier and chunky sauce. Delicious! # Radiatori: Super impressive! Short pasta with ruffled edges. Smooth arugula pesto sauce with crushed crunchy hazelnuts and crisp-tender pea shoots & juicy peas - all are clinging the pasta edges. The mix, textural conttast and flavor were eye opening to me. Refreshing, perfect for the hot summer lunch! # Po Bianco (fresh bread) was amazing too. It came out hot and pillow-y, with a brush of hot honey sauce and fresh nutty grated cheese on top. The accompanying white bean puree & pesto were delicious! We ended up ordering one more to "wipe off" pasta sauces :) # Burrata with peaches, shallot, thyme, crispy celtuce salsa, hot honey. Fresh, fresh, fresh! Crispy salsa and perfectly crispy & tender, sweet & sour peaches, abundant herbs - all are perfect pair for melt-y Burrata. Seasonal delicacy... The dessert, # Tiramisu # Panna Cotta were both great. I especially liked Panna Cotta. Jiggly (not too bouncy!) when scooped, and melt immediately in the mouth - super smooth, silky and creamy. After getting the Winterlicious menu, we ordered fried chicken with cucumber and pickled onion for appetizer, then an Arctic char and Sirloin steak for entrees and finally tiramisu and creme brule for dessert. The fried chicken was too oily and chewy. Steak was good but the Arctic char dish was off. Fish was too dry and other components of the dish also made the entire dish on the dry end. The tiramisu was ok, but too creamy and I've never seen this shape before. Creme brule felt rushed and little caramelization on the top. Waiter was prompt with checking on the food and refilling the water. You also need to ask the hotel front desk for a key to use the washroom, which is a bit weird.

The Caesar salad here is relatively disappointing .. I think grocery store bagged versions are honestly better but it still did the job. Something I noticed this time that was different from last was that the inside doesn't have much spunk or ambiance. I sat outside the first time I came here and ordered in the second - they could use better music and louder music, some candles and some more party energy especially for the later parts of the day on the weekends. I still like this place but it could really be something special with some more Toronto energy! Overall it is still a 4/5 but they could turn up the heat with the ambiance.
