I am getting so frustrated trying to find a restaurant that doesn't cremate its burgers. I specifically asked for medium rare with noticeable pink inside, but it came back looking like a victim of a war atrocity. So, I sent it back, which I almost never do because I don't want to get it tampered with with some "special sauce." When the recooked burger came back, it was still well done. If a restaurant can't cook a simple cheeseburger without turning it into soot, I will never go back. I am suspicious the cook used to work at a funeral home and old habits are hard to break. The beer I had was good, but if you want a good burger that is cooked medium rare, go to the Station Grill in Muskegon and forget about everywhere else. read more

You can call me picky or can call me plain but one thing you can't call me is a liar when I say I had the BEST cheeseburger I've ever had last week at TED'S. I'm not even surprised at all the details that TED'S has from the moment I walked in. I also had a Moscow mule and I'm kinda a snob when it comes to miles. They had real ginger beer and not that premade junk you get when someone runs a mule special. I was also happy to see copper mugs... it's just not a real mule without the copper mug. Truffle fries... Very good food, and cute atmosphere! Prices on the other hand, were shockingly high. My bill for a Family of 4 was $100. My kids are 5 & 12.... would have rather been to a fancy dining on a date night with my husband to spend that much. We had a great experience here with our 5 year old. They had a friendly staff and was very helpful. I got their special Cherry Chicken Salad sandwich, and Hubby got a burger, both really good, also have GF options 4 not 5: the kids Hotdog was a fancy brand and my son didn't care for it. Their menu is great for a sandwich, but not great for no bread unless you have a salad. Overall we will for sure be back! The noise level in here makes it impossible for conversation unless you want to yell. Which most of the patrons seem to like. They have a good menu with a full bar. I visited TED's with family when I was back home for Christmas. The entrance to the restaurant is beautiful! The rest of the décor sort of reminds me of a minimalist beach cottage; I thought it was pretty cute. However, the acoustics are abysmal. I'm not very sensitive to noise in general, but the dining room was so LOUD. I wasn't able to have a conversation with multiple family members at one time, because we couldn't hear each other unless we leaned over and spoke directly to one another. We must've looked like we were playing a game of telephone. I'm sure this problem could be remedied with some draperies or acoustic panels; something's gotta be done about that. Both the food and drink menus are creative and interesting. First, we tried the Crispy Fried Onions for an appetizer. They came out of the kitchen less than 5 minutes after we ordered them, and they were room temperature, leading me to believe that they weren't cooked to order. The flavor was good, but it was tough to get over the temperature. The Beyond Burger was very tasty, and my family members enjoyed the Traditional Chicken Wings. Our server was very kind, as was everyone else we encountered during our visit. We had to request a couple of things twice, but as a new operation, that's to be expected. Overall, I think TED's will be great. It just has a few kinks to work out, most notably the noise level. I'll give it a couple of months, and I look forward to trying it again in the spring. read more

They seem to be improving so I'll continue to give them a shot since I'm happy to have something new in town. Our first visit was really bad - a burger so rare and cold I had to send it back, wings with the wrong sauce and missing one from the order, cups that tasted like cleaning solution, and the wrong beer. The staff was very friendly but the food was just horrible and wrong in almost every way it could be. The second visit was much better - I had the tacos and they were really flavorful and were warm when they came out. The cups didn't taste like bleach so I was able to drink my water. This restaurant has great atmosphere, and fantastic food! The first time we came here it took us over 30 minutes to decide what we wanted because everything looked so good! Since then, we've been here several times as it is super close to our house. The staff is always so friendly, and we always try to come before the rush. I placed a to-go for a 1/2 order wet burrito and a Kale salad, total $25 plus a $4 tip. My burrito was measured at 2x3 inches and cold. The burrito had no meat inside just some veggies and the brisket was sprinkled on top. Hard to even heat up without ruining what there was of it. I called and complained and there was no apology from the bartender or extended customer service to make it right. You think that on a Thursday at 5:30 they when the place is empty they would have made some effort to fix it. read more

Went on Friday about 6:30 and got right in. Lots of seats indoor and outside. We decided on a table in the dining room. Very nice atmosphere. Our waitress Madelyn was super friendly and on top of everything. Great food, appetizers, desserts, and drinks. Prices are damn reasonable too. What is special about this place are the unique items on the menu. It's a nice twist on the usual items you find at other places. Definitely worth a visit if your passing though. I was so impressed with not only the food but the service. I sat at the bar, and Justin really made the evening. He was attentive and we carried on a delightful conversation, all while handling the phone and busy drink orders. I ordered the Kale caesar with salmon. I had just tried Ted's for the first time, and was very unimpressed. They really, really messed up my order and I did not receive the correct food. The workers/environment gave off very homophobic vibes and made me extremely uncomfortable. I would not recommend eating here, but if you are a homophobe and love bad service, this is the perfect place for you. read more

The naan bread in the appetizer and a grilled cheese sandwich were both burned (partially black). The hummus appetizer is to be avoided if you looking for recognizable hummus. My Parmesan crusted fish was very dry and not quite black, either overcooked to begin with or else left a long time under a warming lamp. Same with the wife's perch. Finally! A new local restaurant that gets it! Great experience from the minute we walked in the door. Hostess promptly greeted us and talked a little about the menu/specials as we walked to table. We were greeted immediately after sitting down. Nice decor, very clean. Ordered some drinks, tacos and burger. Food came out promptly and portion sizes were perfect. Burger was the best I have had anywhere around, chips on the side with dipping sauce were also good. Can't go wrong with ordering that. Stopped at TED's after visiting a state park near by and we (my boyfriend and I) were blown at the options on the menu. There was so much to choose from. We got the Truffle Parmesan Fries to start and they were so rich in flavor. Then I chose the PB&J burger because I wanted to try something I wouldn't normally choose and I love it ! It was very rich and savory. It had a caramelized taste to start then turned to a creamy peanut butter. I was very impressed. My boyfriend got the avocado burger and he said it was seasoned well with a jelly sauce and tortilla chips and avocado. He said the flavors fit well together and he was very satisfied. We also decided to get dessert since everything else we were having was amazing and the brownie sundae was everything we needed to close out a great experience! Highly recommend eating here! I've been here a few times now and everything I've had has been good. Cute atmosphere, friendly staff, and quick service.

I'm 99.99% sure that my daughter and I caught strep throat from this bar and here's the reason why: We stopped in with my mother-in-law, daughters and niece on December 28th. We were all healthy when we walked into Ted's. I work from home 100% of the time and have had no exposure to sick people. I ordered the peppermint patty drink because i wanted to try it. When the waitress brought the drink, the glass did not look clean, but I took a leap of faith and figured that they had to follow the process of cleaning their drink glasses set up by the Department of Public Health right? Nope. I took a few sips of that drink and then my daughter finished it. I ended up getting sick that night and then a few hours later my daughter (the one that finished the drink) got sick. I've been in bed for a week now and my daughter has been in bed as well and just got diagnosed with Strep. NO ONE ELSE that was there got sick. But, they drank from beer bottles. I just looked at the Department of Public Health website and Ted's WAS cited as follows with a Priority infraction: "The chlorine sanitizer in the dish machine was 10 ppm chlorine at the time of the inspection. All chlorine sanitizer must be 50-200 ppm chlorine or the concentration indicated by the manufacturer to ensure proper sanitizing. If sanitizer is too weak, it will not kill harmful microorganisms that lead to foodborne illness." on 12/3/19. Apparently, they came back in and cleared them on 12/17/19. I WILL be contacting the Department of Public Health to report to them that their issues have NOT been fixed. read more
