Cons - They didn't have 2 kinds of boots that we wanted. Long lines to get in, then if you buy boots you have to go outside and wait for over an hour usually to get them customized. The whiskey was great! Tecovas offers a military discount They offer free branding of initials and a variety of cool symbols to brand your new boots. These boots are truly the lifelong boots you will own. And when your boots get a little abused you can get your boots conditioned. Came in for a return (purchased 2 sizes of the same boot) and was helped right away after I inquired about where to go for returns. Quick and easy, done right there on the sales floor. I then waited to have some branded and that did take quite some time, almost 45 mins waiting but the people ahead of me were couples each getting something done. As I waited, I was able to grab a beer from their bar and once it was my turn, the gal was super sweet and patient, good energy given all the work! I bought some Tecova boots this summer at their Capistrano location and I was able to slip my foot in after a bit. Fast forward a few months and I could not for the life of me get my right foot in. I have high arches, so struggling with boots is sort of a norm for me. I took my boots to this location in Rancho and they were so friendly and helpful. They stretched my boots and showed me how to get them on easier. They said if they are still too difficult after a couple of wears, bring them back and they will stretch them some more. I love this customer service! I will be returning soon to buy another pair. I've very happy with my purchase and customer service. read more

Had a horrible experience! My dad was harassed by an older man in the dressing rooms, which I told my dad to leave it alone. In the way out this older man was engraving his boots by the exit door which he proceeded to flip my dad for no reason. I turned around and told the guy he was too old to be doing all that. At this point the employee jumped to defend the older man and told us to leave the store accusing us of being the problem. This behavior by the employee is unacceptable. Called the store spoke to assistant manager Joel to shared how uncomfortable this situation was and how his team member made us feel. I was super impressed with my experience at Tecova today. The entire staff was friendly and upon entering was offered a drink at the bar. Although I declined the offer, it did make me feel that this was part of the experience they want to give their clientele. Very warm and inviting. Buying my first pair of cowboy boots was somewhat intimidating but Madison made it very easy and enjoyable for me. She let me try on so many pairs and never made me feel like I was being a pain. She gave great advice and took her time, never making me feel rushed. After all that, I enjoyed a cold water from the bar and I ended up with 2 pairs. I recently visited the store and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When I arrived, I noticed that other customers were being greeted, assisted, and offered complimentary drinks, but no one acknowledged me or offered any assistance. After waiting for a while, I finally had to seek out help myself. The employee who assisted me seemed uninterested from the start. He avoided eye contact, appeared rushed, and did not make me feel welcome. When I tried on a pair of boots, I noticed they were heavily creased. I politely asked if he could check whether another pair was available. Instead of even looking, he immediately told me no and said I would have to take the pair I was trying on. I was surprised by this response, as I've never had a retail employee refuse to even check for another pair. Because of how I was being treated, I asked to speak with a manager and requested the employee's name. Rather than responding professionally, he walked away while giving me his name over his shoulder. The interaction felt dismissive and rude. I came in excited to shop and purchase boots, but the customer service completely changed the experience. I expect better treatment from a company that prides itself on customer service and quality. I hope management addresses these issues so future customers feel welcomed and valued. read more

Friday after Thanksgiving this place was packed. First time here and I loved my experience. All the staff were attentive. I loved that they walk around and offer you a good variety of drinks. The store had a little ornament coloring station for kids. There is also plenty of seating space for those who are waiting and trying on shoes. We came to take advantage of the 20% off offer. I overheard the staff explaining to first time buyers the leather, sizing and options. Honestly I'm in shock that anyone would write a bad review on this store, these boots, or this company. I have fallen in LOOOOVE with Tecovas! Their customer service is second to none, whether it be in person or over the phone. I have purchased 11 pairs of boots since last year . ELEVEN. AND two for my boyfriend. We had a couple minor hiccups, and they did everything possible to make things seamless and I am completely satisfied. The boots are so comfortable and sooooo cute!!! and.. AAAAND.. the store is dog friendly and they have dog treats and they hand you a glass of tequila or whiskey on a large rock? Or an IPA? While you shop?? Get out of here!! Seriously the best!!! I've been looking for a pair of good quality boots to invest in for a long while, and I'm so glad I came to Tecovas. Jacob helped me out through the entire process and I was grateful for his guidance around how the boots should feel. I knew which style I wanted to try on in advance and they had multiple sizes in stock. Once I had settled on a size, he recommended I walk around the store for 10-15 mins to get a feel of what the boots would eventually fit like. During my try-on process, I was offered a variety beverages which they have behind their check out counter. Everything from whiskey, to beer, to water, they make the buying process feel personal and luxurious. I ended up buying The Annie in Sequoia, and the quality is beautiful. All the boots are packed in individual canvas sleeves, which I love for storage. They are pricey, but again, if you're looking to invest in a beautiful pair of boots for the long run, you'll find a ton of great options here. read more

I showed up right before closing and even though it was still busy, I was helped/offered a beverage right away. The guy that helped me was juggling between me and 3 other people, but I never felt like I was overlooked. He didn't mind pulling out different styles and sizes to make sure I got my perfect boot. I ended up getting a different pair than what I originally wanted because they were out of stock BUT he gave me an expected restock date/told me I can always call ahead of time to double check. I live nearly two hours away but continue to shop at Tecovas because of the amazing service and warmth of the staff. In particular I would like to give a special thank you to Joseph, Connor, Julianna, Tayler and Steven. They are all so attentive, patient and sweet and always help me with picking the perfect boot and designing them to be perfect for me. They make the trip up to the Rancho store worth it and. This was my first time purchasing a pair of Tecovas, and my experience started off great. I was treated very well, which encouraged me to move forward with buying my boots. As I was getting ready to pay, I decided to have my boots branded with my initials. I asked to be added to the queue and was told to simply stand in line, which I did, along with many others. Unfortunately, this is where my experience went from 100% positive to one of the worst I've ever had at a retail store, especially involving a manager. While waiting in line, I noticed one gentleman ignoring the queue and walking straight ahead of everyone. Then another customer came in and immediately expected to be helped. Through all of this, Conor Morlock showed remarkable patience, professionalism and spectacular customer service. He was helping many customers and handled the situation with more grace than I've seen from most employees anywhere. By this point, I had already been standing in line for over an hour. The manager on duty, Madeline Conner, saw the line growing but chose to assist a woman who had just walked into the store and demanded immediate service,even though she had not stood in line like the rest of us. This decision was extremely disappointing and unfair to everyone who had been waiting. When I brought this up to Madeline, she did not allow me to finish speaking and abruptly told me the conversation was over. Two employees later shared with me that this was not unusual and that she often treats her team disrespectfully, micromanages them, and asks them to do things she would not do herself. Hearing this,combined with my own experience,was alarming and disheartening. I even returned hours later to speak with a store manager, hoping to address the situation constructively. I waited another 30 minutes, and no one came to speak with me. I'm posting this review not just because of my personal experience but to bring awareness to the lack of respect displayed by Madeline Conner toward both customers and employees. I sincerely hope that upper management takes action to ensure this does not continue and that all team members are treated with the respect they deserve. Great products and great employees like Conor should not be overshadowed by poor leadership. read more

He told me all about them because prior to purchasing them he made his research and came across a lot of people who had great things to say about them. They have a selection of boots, accessories, hats, and clothing. The location is probably the only one here in California. We did have to exchange the boots since he wanted a different color. Luckily they did have them and the exchange went smoothly. He purchased the Leather care for his boots. He also got a hat and a shirt. The quality is so great. It was a good investment. The value of the boots are worth the price because the quality is great. The location is also mind blowing.
