I was super impressed with my experience at Tecova today. The entire staff was friendly and upon entering was offered a drink at the bar. Although I declined the offer, it did make me feel that this was part of the experience they want to give their clientele. Very warm and inviting. Buying my first pair of cowboy boots was somewhat intimidating but Madison made it very easy and enjoyable for me. She let me try on so many pairs and never made me feel like I was being a pain. She gave great advice and took her time, never making me feel rushed. After all that, I enjoyed a cold water from the bar and I ended up with 2 pairs. I bought some Tecova boots this summer at their Capistrano location and I was able to slip my foot in after a bit. Fast forward a few months and I could not for the life of me get my right foot in. I have high arches, so struggling with boots is sort of a norm for me. I took my boots to this location in Rancho and they were so friendly and helpful. They stretched my boots and showed me how to get them on easier. They said if they are still too difficult after a couple of wears, bring them back and they will stretch them some more. I've heard such amazing things about Tecova Boots and was so happy to see a store close by. The store itself is very clean & tidy, the smell of leather is so cozy. These boots are on the pricey side which is fine because the quality is amazing, but when you're going to drop money on an exciting purchase you want to be treated with courteous, friendly staff. The staff didn't greet us, we stood there and had to ask to be helped. The woman had curly hair & glasses, was huffing & puffing when I asked for the boot size to try on. I've been looking for a pair of good quality boots to invest in for a long while, and I'm so glad I came to Tecovas. Jacob helped me out through the entire process and I was grateful for his guidance around how the boots should feel. I knew which style I wanted to try on in advance and they had multiple sizes in stock. Once I had settled on a size, he recommended I walk around the store for 10-15 mins to get a feel of what the boots would eventually fit like. During my try-on process, I was offered a variety beverages which they have behind their check out counter. Everything from whiskey, to beer, to water, they make the buying process feel personal and luxurious. I ended up buying The Annie in Sequoia, and the quality is beautiful. All the boots are packed in individual canvas sleeves, which I love for storage. This was my first time purchasing a pair of Tecovas, and my experience started off great. I was treated very well, which encouraged me to move forward with buying my boots. As I was getting ready to pay, I decided to have my boots branded with my initials. I asked to be added to the queue and was told to simply stand in line, which I did, along with many others. Unfortunately, this is where my experience went from 100% positive to one of the worst I've ever had at a retail store, especially involving a manager. While waiting in line, I noticed one gentleman ignoring the queue and walking straight ahead of everyone. Then another customer came in and immediately expected to be helped. Through all of this, Conor Morlock showed remarkable patience, professionalism and spectacular customer service. He was helping many customers and handled the situation with more grace than I've seen from most employees anywhere. By this point, I had already been standing in line for over an hour. The manager on duty, Madeline Conner, saw the line growing but chose to assist a woman who had just walked into the store and demanded immediate service,even though she had not stood in line like the rest of us. This decision was extremely disappointing and unfair to everyone who had been waiting. When I brought this up to Madeline, she did not allow me to finish speaking and abruptly told me the conversation was over. Two employees later shared with me that this was not unusual and that she often treats her team disrespectfully, micromanages them, and asks them to do things she would not do herself. Hearing this,combined with my own experience,was alarming and disheartening. I even returned hours later to speak with a store manager, hoping to address the situation constructively. I waited another 30 minutes, and no one came to speak with me. I'm posting this review not just because of my personal experience but to bring awareness to the lack of respect displayed by Madeline Conner toward both customers and employees. I sincerely hope that upper management takes action to ensure this does not continue and that all team members are treated with the respect they deserve. Great products and great employees like Conor should not be overshadowed by poor leadership. read more

I showed up right before closing and even though it was still busy, I was helped/offered a beverage right away. The guy that helped me was juggling between me and 3 other people, but I never felt like I was overlooked. He didn't mind pulling out different styles and sizes to make sure I got my perfect boot. I ended up getting a different pair than what I originally wanted because they were out of stock BUT he gave me an expected restock date/told me I can always call ahead of time to double check. Howdy I bought my husband his first Tecovas Boots on Valentine's Day and he absolutely loved them. The quality of these boots are excellent. He told me all about them because prior to purchasing them he made his research and came across a lot of people who had great things to say about them. They have a selection of boots, accessories, hats, and clothing. The location is probably the only one here in California. We did have to exchange the boots since he wanted a different color. Luckily they did have them and the exchange went smoothly. He purchased the Leather care for his boots. He also got a hat and a shirt. The quality is so great. It was a good investment. The value of the boots are worth the price because the quality is great. The location is also mind blowing. Where do I even begin, amazing experience overall. This is the only Tecovas in California and walking into this store is an experience. First, employees were all respectful, welcoming, and professional. Second, the store was very clean and well maintained, with everything neatly organized. Third, the customer service was phenomenal. Once we asked for our boot sizes we were offered a complementary drink which we enjoyed. Not knowing if we would purchase something we were still treated like a valued customer. Closing time was approaching and instead of rushing us out we were offered another complimentary drink to enjoy before checking us out. My wife and I both purchased our first pair of boots and after that experience we are already thinking about when we want to return to get our second pair. So disappointed to leave this review, but don't want others to waste their money. Bought a pair of Cartwright boots in goat leather. Regular wear 1-3 days per week, we live in California so not real wet weather etc. Had some pretty significant defects after a little under a year. I emailed straight away with no response. Had to chase them for a year to get someone to respond. Finally they asked for photos. I sent them away and they responded by quickly by saying this is normal wear and tear however their standard 6 month warranty would have expired anyway. Any bootmaker worth value of boots would laugh at a 6 month warranty under normal wear and tear. This is just another new startup that sacrificed quality and integrity for a little slick marketing to make a quick buck. Spend an extra $100 and get a real pair of boot from someone who cares about their product. read more

Ever since I read their story and the process of making a handmade boot, I was eager to get my hands on a pair. You can really see the quality and every single detail that was put in to them. Not only do they have amazing quality and are very styling, but they are also handmade in Nuevo León Mexico. The inside of the store is amazing the whole set up they got going on gives a great vibe. They have it very nicely organized very clean, and the lady's working there are super attentive, and friendly, very helpful. For my first pair of TECOVAS boots I went with THE DEAN in their scotch goat color. I really fell in love with the color and how styling they look. They feel so comfortable also.
