Over 3 yrs to get a reply!!! Typical So FL attitude - not our fault while it never had a stability issue before the port was replaced. Your guys were the only ones to open the phone and it never worked right again. Three times they replaced the port and none addressed the random reboots. Instead of excuses, a refund for the extra costs I had trading in this phone. Cost to repair plus lost value of trade in resulted in over $500 out of pocket. Horrible experience, even worse accountability by manager/ owner! We went from a cracked screen to a non-functional phone! $150 demanded upfront with a 4hr wait. Ended up with 8hr "repair" done by teenage boys who are learning on devices! Upon complaining a couple days later, they wanted to open my phone again!? I requested a reimbursement and asked to speak to a manager. Both requests were denied! The manager does not have a schedule and comes as she pleases according to the poor high school boy left to handle the store and refused to speak to me. Stay away from this place! Not sure what has happened since I've been here years ago but I took two desktops and one laptop and none were fixed. First you pay a flat diagnostic fee ($80 desktops, $60 laptops) which leads to them suggesting changing specific parts, as expected, however, without certainty that it would work. I got a "it might be this or that" response. Which makes me wonder if they even test with other parts before making you buy new parts and then still charging for it even when the machine doesn't work. I was quoted $280 for a 1Tb hard drive but found it for a quarter of the price through other suppliers online. read more

Brought my moms phone in after T-Mobile recommended them for a final possible fix. My mom's phone had fallen down an elevator shaft and was completely smashed. Phil helped us out and explained the process. They did a diagnostic test to make sure they could retrieve the data from it. He was on top of his game and luckily he was able to salvage the data... They called me after four hours to tell me that could not do anything and that the charging parts were too corroded, change of mother board bla bla bla all Bullshit! and they wanted to charge me $499 to recover my data, at that point I asked for the phone back and had to order a new one through my insurance. This post is based off of the customer service in this place. I dropped off 3 phones to sell, did not receive a receipt (this is was my fault, I should've asked for one). The tech guy called me and said that the 2 phones were worthless but the third phone I could get for $140 but I would need the password to unlock it. I did not know the password so I was waiting to get it I dropped it off in middle of sept (was traveling for work) and stopped by beginning of November to get the phone back because I never got the password. When I inquired about the phones the guy at the front they already recycled the phones after 30 days. I said ok well nobody called me and he said yes we did. I said no you didn't and he said yes we did it says in the system we did. I said I have my phone all the time, nobody called me and that my phone records would show I never had an incoming call. He then says "SHOW ME YOUR PHONE RECORDS THEN". I knew there was no going back n forth with someone who would offer no solutions. I asked to speak to someone else and the initial guy who took my phone came out from the back and said i told you verbally we recycle after 30 days (again a lie) which he then admits nobody called me because he had "texted me". I show him our text messages which only shows him showing me the price of the phone. The lack of accountability from this place just blew me away. I don't care about the money or the phone anymore, I just can't believe the POOR customer service. I highly recommend going to techy for all your technology repair needs. I cracked my screen in November and they fixed it within 30 minutes. Once I got home I noticed my phone was a little buggy. The touch screen sensitivity was off. It made texting an social media viewing mildly annoying but I was too lazy to take it back. 2 months later my son dropped my phone and the screen went completely black which forced me to go back and I fully expected to pay for them to replace the screen again, but after telling them about the touchscreen sensitivity issue they repaired it under warranty and I didn't have to pay at all. This store deserves 0 stars. I went there on 3/9/2023 to repair a damaged iPad screen and replace the battery, for which Mike charged me $321.00. I thought this was excessive, but was lured in by the promise of a rapid repair. I picked up my device that afternoon, and when I returned home and turned it on, it had a 1.75" black line through the center. I returned to Techy Weston immediately, and Mike said this was because I used excessive force on the screen. I assured him this was not the case, and that I have been successfully touching iPad screens for many years. If this new screen was so fragile that this could have been the case, I would not have wanted it, and Mike would have had a responsibility to divulge this. I left the iPad once again. On 3/10/2023, Mike's young employee (he would not provide his name or Mike's last name) called me to notify that the iPad was repaired and I could pick it up after paying $53.50. This, because of my "abuse" to the screen. When I arrived, there were unresponsive dead spots, and I had to leave the device again. On 3/11/2023 I picked up my iPad. Within 24 hours it began repeatedly, randomly and intermittently shutting down. Today I brought my iPad to an Apple Store. They assured me that I had been duped, gauged and deceived by inept and shoddy work. I could not throw more good money after bad and had to purchase a new iPad. I chalk this up as an expensive lesson, and hope, through this review, to help you avoid the same. DO NOT bring your iPad to Techy, Weston. read more

Too bad I can't give them zero stars. The Weston location USED to be pretty good. They have changed personnel and not for the better. I took in an iPad to get the home button replaced and fix the screen. I've had the home button replaced at this same location for a couple of other iPads. The charge was always around $40. This time, Mike, who has 0 customer service skills, told me it was $80. When I asked him why, he said it was because it was a newer generation iPad (that's a lie by the way). I called another Techy location and they told me that was a lie and it should've been the usual charge. When I asked Mike how much it would be to fix the screen, he replied with "You're killing me smalls". How rude and disrespectful! I'm asking for a price for a service they render and I'm willing to pay for it and I get insulted! Avoid this place. I left the iPad with Mike because I needed the iPad for work the next day. I won't be coming back here ever again. Techy itself isn't bad, but Mike is the worst. DO NOT GO TO TECHY WESTON!!! I interacted a fair amount with Phil and David (with ponytail), and both were SUPER awesome, taking the time to share their extensive phone knowledge and giving me honest answers as well. Then I came back in a couple hours and Jonathan, who had worked on my phone, came out to speak with me to explain what he had done. He performed several tests including on the charging port as well as a chemical bath. He said he could take apart the phone to investigate more but informed me of potential problems that could arise, so I could make a good decision. He explained to me where the motherboard is and how there could be a little corrosion in a corner where there is a crack. Although he didn't fix it 100% yet, the phone is actually working better! Before, it had turned off and on on its own every minute or so and now it stays on for minutes at a time, even 30 minutes! This means I can actually back up my information before I bring it back in. It took them 4 months to repair/ replace a little broken piece on the top of my son's laptop and at the end was not properly fixed. Took my iPhone in for repair. The young man took one look at it and said he could fix it in a few minutes. Took the phone apart right in front of me, replaced the vibration module, explained exactly what was going on and gave me some simple tips for optimum operation. Within 15 minutes I was out of there happy I didn't have to buy a new phone! This is a little jewel in Weston. Great store, very clean, organized, well stoked with accessories. **Either incompetent or a complete scam. ***They're purposely putting weak LCD and screens so you have to go back or they're buying cheap LCD and Glass to save money, or they simply do not know any better. -Didn't drop my IPHONE once and the LCD and sides of the screen were cracked from just being in my pocket after 48 hours of leaving the store. Their "warranty" doesn't cover it bc the screen is cracked, which it's either a messed up way to do business by purposely giving you weak screens so they can have repeat business, or they don't know they're putting weak lcd and screens in your phone which shows the lack of expertise.
