Way over priced and not very knowledgeable, or at least were able to get multiple callbacks from me for the same problem. $$$

Slow Shipping Despite an email indicating otherwise. Poor communication and overall not a good experience. Find another vendor.

Rock Service Pros

Rock Service Pros

(19 reviews)

I live in Redford, Township, Mi. I needed a new water heater. I called Rock Service Pros in…read moreLivonia. They sent me a very professional, young gentleman named Devin Stempien. I told Devin that I like taking baths, but I wash my clothes and run my diswasher all at the same time. I told Devin that I can never fill my bathtub to top with hot water. Devin looked at my water heater and told me that I do need a new water heater. Devin suggested that I get a 50 gallon water heater. I was flabbergasted! 50 gallons! Wow! I have never had a 50 gallon water heater! Devin told me that if I get a 50 gallon water heater, that I'll be able to run the dishwasher and the washing machine, and still be able to fill the bathtub to the top with hot water. Really? To the top?, I said. Well what about the added cost for heating a bigger tank, I asked Devin. Devin told me that peace of mind from being able to take a hot bath and run all the other appliances at the same time will far outweigh the added cost of heating up 10 extra gallons of water--which wont cost that much more. Well, Devin was right! Now I can wash my clothes, wash my dishes, and lay in my filled-to-the-top with hot water bathtub relaxing and lustening to thebother apoliances working too. And Devin was right--the added cost of heating only 10 extra gallins of water can hardly be seen in my bill. Oh! And one more thing: Devin is the nicest repairman that has ever been in my house. Whenever I have a plumbing problem in my house, I will be sure to ask for Devin Stempien every time. I even tried to give Devin a $50 tip. He told me to keep that $50 and spendbit on my grandchildren. That was nice of him. Thank you, Devin. I hope that anyone who has a pmumbing problem has Devin Stempien there to repair it. Devin is soooo nice!

A1 Bargain Plumbing

I highly recommend A1 Bargain Plumbing and Kevin. I had a basement flood yesterday with about 3…read moreinches of water throughout and didn't notice it until 3:30. Kevin from A1 was over within an hour and half. Kevin and the assistant he brought with him (Arch?) were both great. The snaked my drains and got the water down. Kevin offered to put a camera down for a little extra money but did not push me on it. But I knew I needed it and he showed me with his camera the other issues going on through my drain. He explained things very professionally and did a great job. Arch worked very hard as well. Mind you, this was on a Friday late afternoon and A1 and Kevin got me taken care of very quickly and did a great job. I am very nervous when hiring a plumber because I have been screwed over before. I was not this time. I HIGHLY recommend A1 Bargain Plumbing. I asked a friend of mine who is a retired master plumber about the service I got and the price I paid and he said I got great work for a great price. Thank you Kevin and Arch. - Jim Belanger

We chose A1 Bargain Plumbing because of the Yelp reviews and after speaking with the owner: Kevin. We called Monday evening, someone called me back and we scheduled an appointment. Their plumber Logan was excellent too. Unclogged the pipe thoroughly and quickly, explained exactly what happened, and answered our questions. Also, no funny business with the price. The same price they told me the day earlier was the same price we paid. We highly recommend A1!

Colonial Heating and Cooling - Fresh tube he installed.

Colonial Heating and Cooling

Sam is the man. Amazing service and a very knowledgeable tech. I recommend this company.read more

I had Colonial HVAC come out today to top off a brand-new R-454B central air system. I explained…read morebeforehand that the equipment was new, the system was operating, and based on the installation it should only need about half a pound of additional refrigerant. The technician looked everything over and agreed that roughly half a pound was probably about right. He was professional, and I have no complaint with him personally. The service-call charge was $119, which I considered reasonable. The problem was Colonial's refrigerant pricing. I was told R-454B was over $350 per pound, and that Colonial has a one-pound minimum charge, even if they only use half a pound. So my cost would be around $700 a pound. The total quote came to about $470. That means roughly $350 of the bill was for the refrigerant charge. For comparison, R-454B is currently being sold by established refrigerant suppliers in 20-pound cylinders for roughly $405 to $510 per cylinder -- about $20 to $25.50 per pound. One supplier is currently selling a factory-sealed Honeywell 20-pound cylinder for $420, or $21 per pound. Obviously an HVAC company has overhead and is entitled to make a profit. I don't expect them to sell refrigerant at their cost. But charging more than $300 for something currently selling in full cylinders for around $20-$25 per pound, combined with a one-pound minimum when the technician expects to use about half a pound, is a markup I'm simply not willing to pay.
