Suspicious company. my sister needed work done and they charged her for tools even after blatantly being told by the company that they dont charge for tools. she also ordered a few parts online and had some issues with them and when calling to try and resolve it she spoke to a women (i want to say her name was sarah or samantha, something with an s) and she was very rude and seemed like she didn't care to actually give any help. Called this morning for a furnace not working and they were at the house in a few hours. A female technician came in. I LOVE that a female is in the service tech industry so right there, I was impressed. She got to working and found the culrpit...a nut had made its way into the thingy (yep, I called it a thingy). She got the heat working! Extremely fair priced! My sister recommended Technical Hot and Cold and I am glad she did! I placed an order with Technical Hot & Cold, and then received an email that the price has increased 45% and "I just need the 3 or 4 digit CVV code on the back of the card you used to place this order" This is unethical at best. I have hired THC in the past and had been reasonably satisfied. This spring I called them to diagnose a leak in my boiler. They came spent a half hour or less told me the repair would be over a $1000 left and sent me a bill for $300. The boiler was not on. This is more than my doctor charges. read more

I called them for rental inspections for city . I received a call from a lady named Cindy regarding there is co in the house and furnace is not working and you should not run it. I called dte my protection plan to get second opinion They send someone next day tech said there is no co and furnace is good to go so we turn furnace on and is working fine next day early in the morning i received a call from their technician regarding they are going to my house to install new furnace I was mad and told them who give you permission and I have not signed any contract with you how you can go to my house and install furnace. Their tech told me to call their manager i called Talked to Jason Told him protection plant from dte came twice and each time their co detector was zero there is not co in my house why are you putting pressure on me to buy a new furnace from you and told them we did not signed any contract leave my house alone .After my conversation with him My tanent called me said Cindy from technical hot and cold came to house and was in basement for one hour and she left I asked my tanent gave me Cindy phone number I called her and told her that I talked to your manager that you are not allowed to come to my house why you went to my house she said you should talk to my manager. I have used their service ever since purchasing my home in mid nineties. They are very reliable and trustworthy. Several times they have saved my bacon both during the hot and humid months of summer and the snowy times of a Michigan winter. Recently my 1970's furnace gave up its last gasp. Technical Hot and Cold stepped up once again and was able to relatively quickly get a new furnace and air conditioning system installed. I called them last winter when our furnace was leaking. None of us could figure out why and it was a good amount of water constantly all over the floor. The tech that came out looked over everything and said it was ok. He checked a few things but ultimately didn't really "do" anything. A couple hours after he left we had water all over the floor again. Want to know what it was? It was the stupid pump next to the furnace for the humidifier. It was dead overflowing with water, and was making a whiney noise. It was making the same noise when the tech was there and he even adjusted the tubes going into the pump. Literally I replaced it myself with parts from Menards the next day. What a waste of time/money and complete lack of trust/ability. read more

Needed to have my condenser fan motor replaced. Their rep, Marcus, came to switch it out. Afterwards my ac unit never had cold air coming out. Called the company and they sent Marcus again who claimed everything was working properly. I then called a different company who found that Marcus had wired the fan motor backwards causing high side pressures of 500+. This then caused a significant freon leak in my ac unit which had to be refilled at my cost. read more

Technically - my house was cold. Same-day service (like 1 hour really). Furnace was shutting down without reaching set temp. We had installed a new thermostat (correctly - we think) before calling. They came, put on nifty shoe covers - and took a look around. I am nosy, mostly to learn about the furnace, and we willingly educated me. Once we saw a missed-ignition error light I left him to his business. After about 10 min he had found a flame sensor was carbonized and cleaned it off. Problem solved - and my house is now set to the toasty 71 degrees I love. No new parts, though he could have told me the torque converter was blown and charged me $200 - I don't know.... Only the service fee ($90 I believe) for his time and was on his way. I recommend to anyone. read more

They are my go to for all things heating and cooling! I have never had to wait more than 24 hours when I have a problem to be fixed. I admit to calling them for preventative maintenance twice a year, which is sOOOOOO worth the time and cost. (Insert dream sequence of 100 degree heat with 100% humidity day of michigan summer or below zero nights in middle of winter) when you have a heating/cooling plant that's over 20 years old but still functioning great. read more

Never use this company its a complete rip off, had someone come out 2 weeks ago after another company told me it was a board but didn't have the part so technical hot & cold came out and told me it was something else which they fixed then the next day my heat would not turn down it was set at 90 degrees cause they wired the wires together that bypassed thermostat....now 2 weeks later my heat goes out again the guy they sent out looked lost and really rude tells me its gonna be a $320 part then have me sign a blank tablet then an hour later tell me I had 3 bad parts that he replaced and it was gonna be $2000 that I owe lol what a scam..thank god we found someone honest came out with in an half hour , took ten min. to tell me it was one part that was bad at a total of $700.00 true blessing read more

Scheduled appointment for 9am for motor and capacitor replacement. Day#1 no show by 930am. Called THC to discover was rescheduled 2pm-6pm. Reminded THC needed motor ($760) and capacitor ($320) replacement, and gave Carrier model number again. 4pm technician arrived and no motor in the van. Repair not completed, will be back tomorrow with motor. Day 2 called THC to again discover 4pm-6pm ETA. It's now almost 8pm nobody showed nor called, office is closed. Wasted 2 days taking time off work to be stuck waiting in a sweltering house when we could have gone to the beach. read more

I ordered a part from Technical hot and cold online . They sent me the wrong part, and refused to take it back for an exchange, stating a no return policy even when they are completely in the wrong . When I asked my credit card to reverse the charge, they then lied and told my card company that they had offered a refund if the part was returned. So I shipped the part back to them and have still not heard from the company. Do not do business with this dishonest and disorganized company! read more
