They replaced my hinges, fixed the placement of some of the parts that were out of place and keeping motherboard exposed, and created a fill for the parts that had broken off. Opens and shuts extremely smoothly, I almost forget how janky it was just a month ago. Works great, and was absolutely worth the price they charged, which was extremely reasonable, especially if I can get another 5+ years out of this laptop!

Out of frustration, I was determined not to cheap out and dug into the options. Ubiquiti had a solid reputation for quality and reliability, so I went about finding someone who handled their products. Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He also was great at explaining how to operate my new system. But most of all, weeks after the install, I am sooo happy with it! Really great setup with excellent user interface and excellent camera resolution. I've already shared videos and stills with the neighborhood (as we are having coyote issues), and it was so quick and easy to do. A+++ experience all around! Thank you so much, David!

I also had them look at a weird thing my laptop was doing. They fixed that too. I was in and out in15 minutes. I expected to pay at least double what they charged me. I was told I would receive a call with an update the day after I brought it in. These guys had my PC for five days with no communication whatsoever. I can't get ahold of anyone over the phone, so I go in physically and ask what's up. They had misplaced my information and hadn't started working on the PC. Fine. I show them my info and leave them to it. Four more days pass. No call, no email. I go in again. What's up guys? They've eliminated one possible source of the problem, no dice. They act busy, tell me they'll call me with an update soon. For real this time, I guess. Two more days. I call them. Turns out they have been stuck and need my bitlocker password now, I'm happy to provide it and they tell me to wait for an email from them and then reply to it with the key. No problem. I wait for three hours before going over and hand-delivering it to them. They're working on eliminating a second possible source of the issue, and it's looking promising. Excellent. Before they close that evening I go in to see if it's solved, and I'm told that the yep, it's a faulty graphics card: they'd plugged in a different one and had no freezing issues. Great! All I need to do is take the PC home, get a new card, and we're good. I pay them $35 and I'm on my way. Though as I'm watching them go to unhook their test card, I notice that their test monitor definitely looks frozen. But they're the experts. Get home. Before I drop $800 on a new card, my spidey sense tingles, and I remember I do have an old graphics card on hand. Put it in my machine, just to see. Still freezes. So nearly two weeks went by between when I brought them my PC and when they incorrectly told me what the issue was. They are probably great if you don't know how to change your facebook password, but I would absolutely not take your stuff to them if you have anything more serious than that. Unless you like babysitting grown men, in which case you can probably still find a better way to get your fix.

On July 14, I suddenly couldn't log in to my credit union's app. At the same time, I saw notifications about verification emails from my credit union -- but those emails didn't appear in my Gmail app. When I called the credit union, they informed me that someone had attempted to add a fraudulent external account from Green Dot Bank. As they put it, "The credit union determined this was suspicious activity and restricted online access to my account." No money was taken, but they required me to create a new email address and have all my devices checked for malware before restoring access. I first visited another technician who was pleasant but whose investigation didn't leave me confident. So I sought a second opinion -- and that's when I found PC Helper Team. Soroush returned my call within ten minutes and invited me to their Westwood Blvd office. Hector checked my iPhone immediately and confirmed it was clean, then kept my iPad and computer for a deeper analysis. Within a day or two, Soroush contacted me with the real cause of the breach: I had unknowingly clicked on a fake Evite invitation that led to a fake Google verification page. I entered my Google credentials without noticing the red "Dangerous" warning or the incorrect web address. It looked like a legitimate Evite link -- and even with my banking background and years of training, I fell for it. See the image below. PC Helper also discovered that the perpetrator accessed my American Airlines AAdvantage account and converted 20,000 miles into Lululemon gift cards. Thankfully, it wasn't worse. What sets PC Helper apart is that they didn't just diagnose the problem -- they explained exactly what happened, walked me through securing my accounts, and gave me clear instructions to prevent future attacks. The technician took the time to remove my head unit, completely disassemble it, find the issue, and repair it. Wow, great people didn't know honest people exist anymore, took my computer to get my data retrieved since another place told me that my computer is dead, Not only they retrieved my data but they fix my computer back a perfect working condition without me asking, here is my short story, after I checked my computer in for service to retrieved the data I get a call couple of hours later from the Tech saying there is nothing wrong with your computer it was a loose battery connection we went ahead and adjusted it and you can come and pick it up, he said., THEY DIDN'T EVEN CHARGED ME, they said they really didn't do anything. I have used the services of Techcare for the past 4 years. As a doctor I need to have my computer system working well. Since I started with Techcare I have not had issues with my network. I have found the technician at techcare to be highly skilled, professional and caring. They are efficient and they finish the job the right way. 6 months ago I had to update my network. I changed 3 computers and added a second server plus 2 new printers as well as updating my software program. Everything went very smoothly without a problem. Techcare takes care of all my software and hardware and networking issues. I always ask them for advice. I am in the process of going paperless within one year and I feel very confiedent that process will be very smooth. Quick, friendly, and helpful - and they removed my computer virus too! I almost forgot I was coming into a computer repair shop when meeting the technicians(Tendai). Very polite and well-mannered didn't make me feel stupid, they listen to my issues first and put my mind at ease. I almost forgot I was there to get my laptop virus removed! They got rid of a trojan I think it was called, the same day and even emailed me a link of the best way to perform an automated file backup. Nice people! Techcare in Culver City on Christmas Eve Day brought all my AOL 8.0 information back to life after I lost it . AOLtechnicians had me upgrade to 9.5 and it crashed my 8.0 business information. I was on Life Support but Techcare found my 8.0 that was deleted and now my computer is up and running on 8.0. I never wanted 9.5 on AOL because I was used to 8.0 and did not like the change. Computer was running slow I brought in my laptop because it was running slow. After the computer guy looked at it he said my laptop had a virus. I left it with the shop overnight and got a call back the next day that it was ready. When I picked it up I tried it out while I was still in the office and it worked fine. My 2 year old son decided to wash my laptop in the tub, and by the time I got to him it was completely destroyed, all of my pictures of my son and family pictures were on that computer. I needed a complete hard drive transfer and these guys saved me. THey knew I was a poor student so they cut me a good deal and they got it done in less than 24 hours. On top of that, they fixed my AC adapter (which was really loose) pro bono without me even asking. I got my computer back as good as new, loaded with anti-virus software. They replaced my hinges, fixed the placement of some of the parts that were out of place and keeping motherboard exposed, and created a fill for the parts that had broken off. Opens and shuts extremely smoothly, I almost forget how janky it was just a month ago. Works great, and was absolutely worth the price they charged, which was extremely reasonable, especially if I can get another 5+ years out of this laptop!

This morning I went to QNE and so happy I did! Within 2 minutes the gentleman knew exactly what the problem was. A chip went bad. The thought of him opening up my computer had me so nervous fearing I could lose everything related to my small business. 5 minutes later computer fixed and everything intact. I also had them look at a weird thing my laptop was doing. They fixed that too. I was in and out in15 minutes. I expected to pay at least double what they charged me. Brought in a PC which was freezing randomly. I know a bit about computers and knew it was probably…read moreone of three different parts that was faulty, but I didn't have spare components on hand to figure out which one myself; hoped they'd take a few hours and swap parts out until the issue stopped. I was told I would receive a call with an update the day after I brought it in. These guys had my PC for five days with no communication whatsoever. I can't get ahold of anyone over the phone, so I go in physically and ask what's up. They had misplaced my information and hadn't started working on the PC. Fine. I show them my info and leave them to it. Four more days pass. No call, no email. I go in again. What's up guys? They've eliminated one possible source of the problem, no dice. They act busy, tell me they'll call me with an update soon. For real this time, I guess. Two more days. I call them. Turns out they have been stuck and need my bitlocker password now, I'm happy to provide it and they tell me to wait for an email from them and then reply to it with the key. No problem. I wait for three hours before going over and hand-delivering it to them. They're working on eliminating a second possible source of the issue, and it's looking promising. Excellent. Before they close that evening I go in to see if it's solved, and I'm told that the yep, it's a faulty graphics card: they'd plugged in a different one and had no freezing issues. Great! All I need to do is take the PC home, get a new card, and we're good. I pay them $35 and I'm on my way. Though as I'm watching them go to unhook their test card, I notice that their test monitor definitely looks frozen. But they're the experts. Get home. Before I drop $800 on a new card, my spidey sense tingles, and I remember I do have an old graphics card on hand. Put it in my machine, just to see. Still freezes. So nearly two weeks went by between when I brought them my PC and when they incorrectly told me what the issue was. They are probably great if you don't know how to change your facebook password, but I would absolutely not take your stuff to them if you have anything more serious than that. Unless you like babysitting grown men, in which case you can probably still find a better way to get your fix.

What had happened was that I had bought a new laptop from LG (~9 months ago) and its' performance was just so weirdly slow from the time I brought it home. In particular, the proxy setting just would not turn off no matter how many times I disabled it. Plus, the PC performance was horrifically slow. Not a good sign and I did a lot of malware scans with no luck on finding any issue. Finally, I got fed up and, after a bit of research, I found Allstate. The guy at the repair shop was super nice and attentive to my observations. The end result was excellent - all the issues were fixed (proxy and computer speed) and my PC is as it should be - fast and efficient and it has been 3 months of excellent performance. Repair price was okay too. Total recommend.

Inherited a custom PC from a family member that worked fine ... until it didn't. I tried a number…read moreof at home fixes and couldn't quite figure out what was causing it to crash. I looked up local PC Repair spots and Allstates Computers had a very high rating and more importantly was actually open on the weekend unlike most of the other independent PC repair places I saw online. I came in without an appointment and John got right to work on helping me diagnose my problem. He tried a few tools to get a sense of what the problem could be, talked me through the various levels of repair that we could go down, and sent me home with an initial fix that hopefully solves it without me having to buy a whole new rig. All around great service and appreciate him taking the extra time to get me an answer then and there vs just having me drop it off and then having to wait for a response. If I do end up needing to upgrade to a new system, John said he also does custom PC assembly so know where I'll be going when the time comes.
