I strongly recommend AGAINST using this company. When I called them, they misrepresented to me that…read morethey had technicians with the expertise to fix my problem, when they did not. The first technician they sent out actually made matters WORSE than they were before. Before he came, I could receive but not send emails. When he left --- and for hours and hours after that -- I could not send OR receive emails. I was shut down - a small business owner's nightmare. He also told me that when the system came back up, all of the emails that I missed the previous day would re-populate. He was wrong about that too. So I lost a significant amount of business that I can never get back. The second person they sent out admitted that he did know how to fix the problem, and did not know his way around a Mac either. Another wasted hour. There were then supposed to send out yet another technician to fix the problem, but then they called me at the 11th hour to tell me that he would not be coming because the bottom line was, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE ANYONE CAPABLE OF FIXING IT -- the complete opposite of what they told me when I first called them. So, I lost the ability to get someone else in here who actually knows what they are doing. It was a complete circus. I would never recommend to anyone - and certainly not a business owner - that they use this company.

So, my experience with these guys was a total accident. I wasn't expecting to need their services…read morebut I'm not only super happy with the results of the end-products, I'm also very relieved they were the ones to holistically take on my project. I was putting together a new computer build for school. The component list was completely high-end and involved an AIO (all in one) water cooling solution with a 360mm radiator and an AIO water cooled graphics card with a 120mm radiator. In addition, I had two M.2 drives with custom EK heat sinks and an NZXT "i' series case with their smart hub for fan and lighting control along with several other custom parts. I was recently diagnosed with a form of bone cancer and underestimated how badly the treatments I've been receiving would effect my fine motor control and ended up bricking a Gigabyte AORUS motherboard by dropping my CPU and crushing several pins. At that point I was feeling pretty dejected and wasn't sure if I would be able to put my computer together without damaging some VERY expensive hardware components. I was seriously upset with myself, mad at the totality of the circumstances surrounding the situation, and generally upset. I had seen Extreme Micro a few times in my intermittent goings to the Japanese food place in which they occupy the same plaza and figured I'd stop in to see if they offered a build service. I met Grant, the guy who is their usual customer contact for product and services, and was also affectionately and distantly barked at by Odin (their shop dog who hangs out in the back of the shop - this has nothing to do with my project experience but made my happy because I'm a big dog person) as I walked inside. Grant informed me they were more than capable of handling my build and provided a cost structure and possible time frame for project completion. I dropped off the components within the next few hours. There were a few hiccups along the way (because I had some faulty RAM and was missing a cable the factory forgot to package along with my CPU AIO) but both Grant and Scott (their principal system builder) kept me informed of what was going on so that I could swap out the parts necessary to give Scott what he needed to finish the project. They have a really cool email ticket correspondence system that they update with major project milestones and use it if they need to reach out to a customer. I thought it was helpful to watch my email for updates and to keep apprised of what was happening with my build. Due to the complexity of my system and the hardware hiccups (that were unfortunately normal RMA issues in the PC world and had nothing to do with Scott or the Extreme Micro guys) it took about a week to get the call that my computer was completed. In the realm of PC building this is actually pretty remarkable but they're used to pushing out projects much faster. All in all the technician hours that went into my build totaled enough to make compilation labor quite expensive (like they could have charged me several hundreds of dollars and probably should have) but instead honored the price that Grant quoted for me as an estimate when I first dropped off my parts. THAT is amazing. Back to my computer; it turned out INSANE. And the best type of insane I've ever experienced in the full technological tenure of my life. Like full PC Master Race insane. Scott is not only a cable management god but he also installed windows and all my drivers, conducted any and all updates and made sure the platform was stable and ready to go before releasing it to me. My experience was obviously the above: from a pile of high end components, my shattered ego, and pent of frustrations of not being able to handle my build myself, to being surprised by the nicest looking computer build I've ever been lucky enough to own and I can genuinely say it wouldn't have turned out this well if I did it myself. And with all the technical hiccups that occurred I probably would have ended up conducting a similar google search to pay them to troubleshoot the errors I probably would have made anyway. I seriously couldn't be happier with my experience with Extreme Micro or the product I received. If for some reason you've made it to the end of this review, don't think twice about giving them a call and procuring ANY of their IT services. They can handle anything from data recovery and system optimization to managing IT for companies of several hundred employees. And they're all really good people. And Odin. Thanks, Extreme Micro.

I had already run an anti-malware program and found nothing. Todd charged me $75 to check for malware, nothing was found and nothing had changed when I got it back except the antivirus software was deleted as he thought that was causing the problem. I went back to retrieve a CD he forgot to give me about a week later and asked him if he would be willing to refund me a portion of the $75 as I felt I paid for a service but the problem was not solved. He adamantly refused. He said he worked on it for over 5 hours which I have my doubts about. It may be a communication issue but Office Max got it to work at 100% for $79. He insists that he is right but I felt that I paid too much and he refused to compensate me at all. Today he said he would have done what Office Max did at no additional charge but it's easy to say that when the work was already done.

This was my experience: I work from home as a writer/editor/social media marketer, so my computer is vital to my business. A few nights ago I had a pop-up stating that it had been infiltrated with malware, and that I needed to call a number immediately. Me, being an idiot, DID call (to anyone who this happens to, DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER), and reached a man who claimed to be "Windows Support." I soon realized (AFTER I'd given him remote access to my computer to "clear the malware") that it was a scam, and I was terrified that my information had been stolen/viruses and malware were in my system. I called Aaron the next morning and he immediately scheduled me, and stated if I wanted him to put an antivirus on my computer, he would do so. He calmed me and sounded very confident and assuring, and I felt so much better immediately. I met him at a nearby Safeway (he works from home) and gave him the Norton antivirus code (his recommended program) and he said he'd have it completed in a few hours. Aaron called me that afternoon promptly to say that everything looked good, that he had scanned and found no malware, and had installed the Norton. He had quoted me for 1-2 hours at $60 an hour (very reasonable, I called another company and their price was that PLUS travel fees). He said he would never go over $120, even if it took him longer, and for this job it ended up just being the $60. VERY reasonable for my peace of mind, Aaron's kindness, promptness and assistance with scanning my computer for viruses and installing the antivirus. He sat with me in Safeway when I retrieved my computer and gave me lots of tips on how to run my computer more efficiently, which browser to use, useful ad-blockers, and even emailed me that evening with his recommended plug-ins. AFTER I'd paid him already, he was still emailing me tips and even texted me to see how everything was going! Even better, my dad was afraid my bank account information might've been compromised so I texted Aaron the next day to ask his opinion and he called me immediately, detailing his advice and expertise on the topic, urging me to call him if I had ANY other questions or issues anytime. By far the best guy to contact with any computer needs, and especially if you are worried about something like viruses, malware or compromised info. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
