Tarkington Park lowkey has one of the better Indy playgrounds, and one of the reasons why is because there's a Tea's Me Community Cafe right in the middle of it. This used to be a BRICS ice cream shop a while back, and then a coffee shop before that. I hope Tea's Me sticks around because it is a much-needed hangout in this area of Indy! You'll find lots of different teas to choose from on the menu: black tea, green tea, white tea, oolong and herbal tea. You can get them all either hot or on ice. I got the orchid green tea, which is a special tea made just for Tea's Me and I highly, highly suggest you try it! It's lightly sweetened, which I don't usually prefer. (I like my tea straight-up.) But this sweetened tea was delicious and not super sweet. They also offer kid-friendly beverages, like Capri Sun, smoothies and lemonade. There's also coffee (hot or iced). I also saw a few sweet treats available, like carrot cake, cookies and coffee cake, as well as Dippin' Dots, which makes sense to offer if you're a joint that's located in the middle of a playground! Give the children what they want. Tea's Me Community Cafe is a great place to meet up with your parent friends: get a little something to sip on while you watch your kids play on the playground. I love that sweetener options include cane sugar, honey, and agave and you can do light, regular, or lots of sweet! I tried the vegan cheddar and pesto grilled cheese. I was very pleased. The cheddar tastes pretty darn close to dairy cheddar and maybe it doesn't "melt", but it definitely softens and with the pesto added, there's the mouthfeel of melted cheese. I was aware of the other location, but I didn't know this place existed until my company had a meetup here. This community space offers street and lot parking. The glass enclosed structure offers views of the neighborhood and Tarkington Park. The space is bright and clean. I only opted for a smoothie, but they also offer sandwiches and other light bites that my coworkers seemed to enjoy. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our items were ready quickly. Great spot for an afternoon pick-me-up in the middle of Tarkington park! I opted for the spring lemon lavender tea, lightly sweetened with agave (other sweetener options are cane sugar and honey). It was super refreshing! This is a great spot to try some teas without fear of them being too bitter. I had no idea there were multiple locations until someone sent me a meeting request for this location. It was snow-covered outside when I went but I just know this has a beautiful view in the Spring/Summer of the adjoining park. The staff were super friendly and I loved all the tea and drink options. I especially love that you can customize your milk options and get it sweetened or unsweetened. I also had a tomato basil soup that was really good. read more

I enjoyed the Yelp Indy elite pop up event at Tea's Me Community Cafe yesterday that I decided to come back here for a matcha latte and to pickup some tea bags to take home. I had some work meetings to attend as well, so I was able to get some work done as well in the cafe while enjoying my matcha latte. The ambiance is very relaxing and very comfortable to get some work done and take conference calls. I picked up a variety of tea bags from green tea, black tea, and white tea that I will surely enjoy at home. The service is wonderful and professional, and the staff do take care of the customers very well. My matcha latte was perfect and tasted just right. This cafe is a nice addition to Tarkington Park and it gives the park some character and warmth for the community. I'm glad Tea Me's Community Cafe exist in Indy and I will look forward to coming back here to enjoy a different variety of tea. read more

I've been meaning to stop by here for quite some time. The second location of Teas Me Cafe is conveniently located on the drive to my son's school on the corner of 38th and Illinois Street surrounded by an all-ages park that was installed a few years ago. The street out front also features a bike lane. In the warmer months, the park is bustling- especially with younger kiddos/families. I opted for my Teas Me go-to, the almond orange green tea (hot). I've been fighting a cold and this hot tea worked some serious magic. They offer it both hot and cold and in varying sweetness levels. For what it's worth, I find it so flavorful without any added sugar. The shop also features some coffee drinks, baked goods and an assortment of seating options. One of the best parts of the space is that it features wrap around windows and plenty of natural light making it an ideal spot to take meetings or work for a couple of hours. So great to see this added energy to the neighborhood and looking forward to future visits. Way to go, Tamika and team! read more

My first visit was with yelp a few months ago. Today I tried the chickpea sandwich. I was skeptical but it wasn't bad. I also tried one of the teas. You're greeted when you walk in. I was disappointed by this café. Although moderately clean and kind staff, the food was very disappointing. The tea was just alright but slightly overpriced. I would go back to try different flavors. The most disappointing thing was the David sandwich lunch meal. It was supposed to be a pesto grilled cheese. It had four slices of cheese that was very cold and not even slightly melted. My partner is a big tea drinker and I thought it was finally time to give Tea's Me Cafe a try and I was NOT disappointed. Their menu is filled with all types teas, any way you like it! The breakfast sandwiches are huge and so delicious. You can tell that everything is made fresh to order! The young lady at the register was very helpful when we had questions. The only thing that I thought was odd was that they served my partners hot tea in a glass cup with a straw instead of mug, making it a little difficult to drink. This place is the perfect little neighborhood shop to grab lunch. The atmosphere is a bit cold-more industrial than I think of when I think of tea shop, but it's a small matter. The food is very good and the employees have been kind and extremely pleasant every time I go. Sometimes it takes a little longer to make a sandwich than you might expect but not drastically longer. Just give yourself 5 more minutes than you might usually. Oh and if they have it while you're there get some carrot cake-it's delicious. (I make incredible carrot cake and theirs is better!) The best part however is the amazing neighbor that teas me is. Tamika is often there, being kind and supportive of the people in the community. Indirectly by supporting events and promoting others, and directly by helping kids who come in. I've seen her buy ice cream for runny nosed little kids who wonder in on a slow summer day, she keeps the bathrooms open to park-goers, and just generally makes everyone's day better. I love her and the people who work there. Go support incredible people being incredible and you can do that by eating a sandwich and leaving a generous tip. read more

Met here for a working lunch at the suggestion of my lunch partner and what a pleasant surprise! This little cafe is great now during cold weather with its extensive selection of teas, coffee and food, but will be even more lovely to visit when the weather improves and you can sit outside and enjoy watching kids in the park. I ordered a chicken bacon ranch croissant sandwich meal which came with a cup of tomato basil soup (yum), and a small spinach side salad. The sandwich was hot and tasty, and the salad was a nice (and healthy) addition to the lunch meal. The place is spacious so even during COVID you should be able to have some social distance plus the staff wore masks. A good meeting place for a working breakfast or lunch and even better to meet up with a friend for tea, coffee and a treat. This is a beautiful establishment and really exemplifies the term "community"! Set within a community park, it has tons of seating space indoor and outdoors and a huge variety of tea, food, desserts, and snacks. The staff is super friendly and will help you pick a tea, and I love their punch card program. I got my Cloud Catcher yea for free! The only thing I didn't see was accessible furniture -- the chairs are small folding ones and there doesn't seem to be any other options, while I know their other location has more of a variety of seating. It could be because they are relatively new/opened this year. Anyway, definitely hoping to come here again and explore more of the food options! read more

Love that this Tarkington Park cafe space is finally activated after sitting underutilized for the most part for several years. I love how bright and open the space is. I came here with the hopes of working, but they don't have Wifi set up yet. They have a great set of teas and food options. They also have an area with free books for kids to take which is cool. I wanted to add a little more sweetener to my drink but they didn't have any packets of splenda, sweetener or sugar, nor did they have stirers. They just poured some sugar our of a big container in a tiny cup for me. I thing they just need to get a few more things in place and it will get 4 stars from me, but right now still feels a little bare bones. Because it's next to the Tarkington Park splash pad, a number of kids and adults came into the space bare-footed. If staff noticed, they let them know they couldn't come in without shoes but it didn't seem universally enforced. Again, def a great ambience and I love their food based on the other location, but just need a little more time at this new place to hit their groove! But I will say one of the staff members was super sweet and drew a little picture with a special message on my cup as a special touch which was nice! read more
