This place is awesome!!! Absolutely love going here. I started going here as of February 2018. Whether it be to catch up with old friends, reading a book, or studying for an exam, this place is good for everything. I'd say this is a gem in Park Ridge. The staff are so friendly and helpful, they also make me feel comfortable during my stay. This is a very easy going place and depending on the time you go it can be chatty or quiet. Great business concept at work here. I use their teas for the iced tea blend, and my wife has her favorites for her hot teas. They have many proprietary tea selections, and they also have a bar where you can order tea to drink in store. This is what a small business should be all about. I love Tea Lula, and feel really lucky that it's right in my own neighborhood. They carry their own blends and many of them are excellent. A house favorite is a flavored green tea called Currants and Cream. It's a great place to meet a friend for a chat or bring a book. The owner, Sheila, is really nice and she and her staff will brew a mini cup of any tea in the shop a customer asks to sample. As a former Bostonian, I loved going to Tealuxe in Harvard Square and on Newbury St. I think Tea Lula is absolutely on par with them! read more

This place is a must for anyone interested in real tea, brewed by the owner, Sheila, a certified Tea Master. Unlike any of the chains popping up in a local mall, both Sheila and her well-trained staff truly know their teas and will spend as long as a customer needs to find their perfect tea. These people even know the altitude a particular plant is grown at to achieve its perfect picking moment and flavor! Lovely little tea shop! I took a tea tasting class here, and both the class and the woman who taught it were delightful. I had a great time with the small group I was in, and I learned a lot about tea and how to make it. We didn't realize the shop was closing when the class was over, so we sat around chatting. The employees were very kind and patient, even though I'm sure we delayed their cleaning and closing process! You have no idea how happy I am to find a great tea room near home. I've been going to tea Lula for years now and I'm always amazed with my experience there. Whether your enjoying a cup of tea in store or are purchasing a gift, only expect to be blown away! I was introduced to Tealula a few years back by a friend. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable! The owners are constantly taking trips to Hawaii and Asia to learn and embrace the culture and science behind great loose leaf tea. Tea Lula is great for gifts or just spoiling yourself :) I recommend Kookaberry Kiwi or Blushing Bride. They even have a great story behind that flavor! There was a wedding party taking pictures on the train tracks by the store, and they gave the bride a small gift of that tea! Hands down, love this tea shop. Reminds me of the ones in Ireland and England. The owner and her staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I always find a new "tea love" each time I walk in. The scones are just like the ones my grandmother made years ago. My only word of caution is don't bring little ones. The shop is small and has lots of cute tea accessories that could easily break. I went there Sunday straight off the farmers market to get a cup of tea. It was very busy. Outside looks fancy with people drinking their tea from porcelain cups. Inside it's more homey. You can get all sorts of tea and tea related equipment. Did not buy anything since it was busy, but I might come back. read more

The people there are all great individuals who work there because they absolutely love tea, not because they needed a job. Their knowledge on everything about tea is awe inspiring. This isn't just a place of business, its like a family, a home away from home. It always feels when I'm thee as if I'm on a great vacation. The tea itself is some of the best I have tried. I am a man who definitely enjoys his tea, and the tea at tealula is truly great. The aroma, the texture, the color, absolutely everything is top notch. The owner is truly a lover of tea who opened a tea shop business, not a businesswoman who decided to make money using tea. She does not skip out on quality, and only gets the best, pure, organic tea. For that, I thank her greatly. This small tea shop is practically a national landmark to me, if I had to choose to bring a foreigner to only 5 locations in America, this tea shop will have to be one of them. I have been going here for about a year now. The tea is way overpriced and when you walk in, everyone stops talking. The customer service needs an adjustment. For example, recently, I became unable to drink caffeine and herbal teas, but still wanted a nice, warm drink. I ordered steamed milk and everyone looked at me like I was crazy and they still charge me $4.50 for it. Next time I'll just go to Starbucks so at least the service will be better in the workers will not look at me like I'm a zoo animal when I place an order. Or I'll just go to the grocery store to order a gallon of milk for $2.99 and microwave it myself. Won't be going back there again. read more

I had a great time at TeaLula yesterday. My group was there for a Matcha class.I know a little about tea however I learned so much more. Sheila, who is the owner was wonderful and very informative. Tealula is simply, the best. Sheila, Ryan, Page, and all the others know alot about what their selling and brewing up. They are friendly, smart, and will crack you up with some funny story for sure:) If your not even a tea drinker, you will find something there that you like. They have a selection of teas thats not too big and not to small. You won't spend hours pouring over which tea to get, but you won't spend a second choosing 1 out of 3 options either. The tea bar is a nice place to sit at and the whole shop is decorated very stylishly. Anybody who complains about being asked to leave after staying too long at the bar deserves an IQ check. The shop has limited seating and Sheila just can't afford to have patrons sitting around drinking $3 teas and talking for hours. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that either. Not to mention it being the courteous and polite thing to do, so as not to intrude on others who would like to sit at the bar. The shop has the best teas as well....full of flavor and just a blast to sample. Do yourself a favor and take a visit. You won't regret it. read more

This place is like Cheers for non-alcoholic, tea-loving ladies. The selection is amazing, the staff treat you like a long-time friend, and there are usually fun little events going on during the holidays. They used to get freshed bake goods from the bakery around the corner, but it has since closed. It's a little on the pricey side but it's worth every penny. read more

Love this place! They have about 200 different kinds of loose leaf tea, including some great blends I haven't found elsewhere--and they will make you samples of anything you want to try! They also have a little cafe counter where they'll serve up chai lattes (for that matter, any kind of tea latte you want) or brew you a little pot of tea while you hang out with friends. Prices are usually around $8/50 grams of black tea (though they vary quite a bit for some of the more exotic varieties). Not bad for what you get. There are also several teapots and accessories available. Friendly staff, great tea, and a really nice place; I'm hooked. 9/13/2016 Update: I went in one day to pick up a bag of my favorite tea, only to discover it had been discontinued. One of the staff members suggested a few possible options, and I sampled them, but none of them was quite what I was looking for. I got chatting with the owner, and next thing you know, she offered to contact the blender who'd made the discontinued tea for them and see if he could make a small batch! (Can you imagine getting that kind of customer service at Starbucks?!) I now have a bunch of my favorite delicious tea, and TeaLula has won my lifetime loyalty. read more

I have to agree with the other reviews here that the selection of tea and knowledge are wonderful. As to sitting and enjoying conversation or reading a book, I will no longer feel welcome to either of these pleasures. The shop is only welcoming now if you plan to sample tea and purchase a bag to go! I was informed through a friend that people are no longer welcome to stay and chat with friends for any extended periods of time. Normally, I would be fine with this if the owners had clear signage that limited times when sitting at the bar. This bar is not clearly established as a sampling bar. These owners need to decide what this shop is going to be, a tea shop where people are allowed to savor their selections, especially considering you are served a whole pot of tea, or if they strictly want this to be a tea store where you sample and then make your purchase. I was so looking forward to becoming a regular, but now feel that I will be uncomfortable as soon as I enter the store. I have observed that some select individuals are welcome by the owner to spend as much time there as they like, but others have been asked by the owner to move on. Well, I'm moving on to a completely different establishment! read more

This tea shop is very cozy inside. They have a very good selection of teas. The taste of their tea is out of the world. I ordered two different teas for me and my husband and they served it in a pretty porcelain cups not cheap and ugly paper/plastic cups. I love how they serve honey in a honey dispenser. I just wish they would be little bit less expensive as in the end it is just a cup of a tea. read more

I went there this morning craving the choco-chip scone. I was pleased with the scone itself however, the service was horrible. My 3 year old daughter and I walk in, no other customers in the place and the 2 women behind the counter completely ignore us. I felt quiet invisible. Finally, a younger male employee came out from the back and helped us. Seriously!!! This was my first and last time there. Although the scone was delighful I would not spend one red cent of mine there. read more
