Tea Snow is my favorite boba places so far and has made better drinks than the popular shops in California. To me, that says a lot! The tiger bubble, taro coconut creme, and royal milk tea has been our go to since our first experience. The drinks are strong in flavor, smooth and unique, along with it's fair price. The boba has the original springiness and just the right amount of softness of what boba should be when properly made. As a Hong Kong native, I hold milk tea quality very harshly. The milk tea from Tea Snow is on the bitter end and I love that for the change. All the other places I've tried dilutes it with too much milk and overwhelms it with sugar to attractive the American population. Thankfully, Tea Snow ran with their own beliefs and brewed their milk teas traditionally to appeal more to the authenticity. However, their milk tea is still lacking the true richness of milk tea but they are definitely closer than anyone in the west coast! And yes, I've tried a few. Overall, Tea Snow never disappoints and I would consider them the best in Arizona! Most of their drinks on the menu are done very well and consistent everything. The matcha does lack a little bit but that's really not a big deal. They're not a matcha shop so I wasn't expecting too much. They're still not bad though. read more

Visiting from out of town and decided to get boba here because it was conveniently next to the grocery store I needed to go to. Looking at the set-up, you can tell they are doing their best with the Covid guidelines: social distancing stickers on the ground, plexiglass in front of the cashier, and asking us to wait outside while the order is made. I ordered five drinks total for the family: two thai teas, one pennyworth drink, a milk tea, and a mango passion smoothie. I can't speak to the thai teas or the pennyworth drinks, but I can for the milk tea and the mango passion smoothie. The milk tea is about average, but the boba was good. The mango passion smoothie was better than some I have had, unfortunately, they forgot the boba and I was already driving home by the time I realized it was missing. If we didn't have a special though, I probably would have preferred another boba shop. I had a #2 Basil seed grass jelly drink. It's a lot of toppings inside a drink. Want to try something new and yet deliciously familiar? If you have had bubble tea in the past now you can have 2 different flavors of bubble tea in one cup*. I couldn't decide between my go to original milk tea and the Thai ice tea, so I chose the 2 tea blend, comes in an unique cup that comes split with two straw openings up top. The server will give you 2 straws but I recommend just using one if you want to save the environment. Overall, their drinks are pretty good. I usually go here for their specialty drinks which range from $4.50-$5.00. Because they don't go cheap on the toppings, it's totally worth it. However, specifically on the Coco Loco, 75% was chunks of fruits and 25% drink. I had to use my straw to scoop it out. If you're thirsty, don't get this one since there isn't much to drink. It would make more sense if it came in a bigger size. Their three color dessert is one of my favorites and definitely worth a try if you haven't. The Vietnamese coffee is truly authentic which has a very strong taste and will give you the caffeine kick. The regular tea drinks are not worth it since you can get it at The Street for much less. A small here is around $3.75 plus charge for add-ons and size upgrade which makes it $5.00 or more. The street is only $3.75 for a large with boba! They do have a lot of variety which is really nice. I love coming to Tea Snow because their huge selection of drinks and toppings can satisfy any boba craving. Whether it's a milk tea or a watermelon slush, you can definitely find something for you here. A personal favorite of mine is the Vietnamese coffee. It's very flavorful and you can get a sea salt topping to make it even better. It's always very clean around the counters and small tables. Definitely not a sit-down type of place though -- it's quaint and you typically wait outside the shop on the Mekong mall side. They do get busy, and when they do, you'll simply wait for them to call your number and they'll hand you your order from the little window. Service is never particularly slow however, and they tend to handle busy days quite well. I always love to get the smashed avocado with boba at Tea Snow. However, with my last two visits (a week ago and today), the drinks were unbelievably sweet. The previous time, the drink was completely inedible, so I had to resort to throwing it away. Lychee smoothie with grass jelly: slightly overly sweet but the grass jelly gives it a good balance of flavors and texture 9. Pineapple smoothie: if you enjoy pineapple this is a great fruity, healthy tasting smoothie. 10: passionfruit smoothie: very fresh, sweet tasting drink. Add popping boba, honey boba, or jellies to this one! Get the small though cause it's pretty sugary. Here are honest reviews of ones I didn't like as much: 1. Avocado smoothie: tastes exactly like plain avocado, no dimension to the flavor. No sweetness, just straight avocado. Wish they added more creaminess and maybe sugar 2. Taro smoothie: again straight taro flavor, not enough sweetness. I know many reviewers like this one though.. I just really couldn't drink the whole cup. Not a refreshing taste 3. Papaya smoothie: strange aftertaste, almost like a licorice or way overripe taste. Did not enjoy 4. Kiwi smoothie: too bitter. Really enjoyed my first take at the Royal Milk Boba with brown sugar, which is almost like a dulce de leche, and first time drinking a Coconut Grass Jelly drink. So good. Birthday splurged and it was well worth it. No caffeine in either of these drinks. The Boba was not too chewy, not too firm, slightly slimy and sweet, just right. I had no idea what a huge Asian community there was in Mesa, and I believe the highest growing group are the Vietnamese because Mekong Plaza is a popular shopping center with tons of Vietnamese and Chinese eateries. I came here by accident because I was looking for a cup of tea late in the evening and it appeared most of the other cafes in the vicinity had already rolled up their carpets. Of course this was a boba place filled with Asian adolescents focused squarely on their phones. But wait there was more... You can also get shaved ice and hot Cheetos. Hot Cheetos? I played it safe and stuck to my original intention. We were craving shaved ice after our Chinese noodle dinner (across the street) and was super excited when we found this place on Yelp. Luckily the line was not too long. We waited about 20 minutes for four medium size shaved snow. They ran out of black sesame and vanilla flavors. So we got the mango, pistachio, and matcha flavors. Super cute Boba shop in the Asian district. You can enter it from either the outside or inside the plaza. I love that they have a huge variety of flavors they even have smoothies. They have options with or without Boba. It's decorated very gorgeous inside a total vibe. I will say I came here on a Sunday and the wait was about 20 minutes long. My third extremely bad experience here where the drinks were small and full of ice. As you all know, 98% of my revIews are positive so if I write a negative review, it must be really bad. First of all, the wait here for a drink is extremely long. They seem to be extremely slow at making the drinks or chatting behind the closed doors, not caring about the customers waiting for their drinks. Secondly, one of the servers Q has taken a dislike to me and I nooticed when she is working, my drInks are smaller and full of ice instead of ingredients. There were a few other customers when we arrived on Monday evening. They have a ton pictures of the drinks along the back wall if your wondering what to get. We ended up getting two drinks. One small blended taro and vanilla with boba and a coco loco. (Iced drink with pieces of coco, mango, and strawberry) My freakin boba drink was delicious! It was just the way I like it! kind of disappointed with this drink. got the original milk tea with boba, 50% sweetness and less ice. i was not a fan of the tea itself, it had a weird taste. 50% sugar was a good level but the boba has a lot of sweetness to it so you can even get less sugar and still be fine. the boba was chewy which i liked. also asked if the milk tea was made with nondairy creamer as i'm lactose intolerant and the barista did not know the answer. the other thing of note was they charge $0.25 for less ice. read more
