I've been a few times and everything ive tried was good. This last time I got the strawberry cheesecake which tasted like strawberry milk mostly but I like strawberry milk. I've previously got the blue soda which was good.
Came for the bogo deal to try their new Korean inspired drinks: black sesame, strawberry creme, melona, and Korean banana milk. The Korean banana milk tasted exactly like banana candy from my childhood plus Binggrae banana milk. The flavor is very strong and it hits you on the first sip. It might be a little artificial tasting but it's not bad. The black sesame has a much milder flavor. Even after thoroughly mixing the drink, there was only a tiny hint of black sesame. I would not have thought this was a black sesame flavored drink if not for the gritty texture. Even with the subtle/weak taste, I still liked the black sesame more because it just tasted like sweetened milk. I would have preferred if it had a stronger black sesame flavor though. Ordering was easy, they have options for sweetened vs unsweetened and different ice levels.
Honestly a very mid boba spot. Super small stand in the middle of the ktown block with barely any room to wait lol. Small menu, nothing special except the matcha cloud which was pretty good. The Taro drink was powder and the dragonfruit drink I got tasted more like passion fruit than anything. Waited a while for these drinks as well since they messed up the first time and gave our drinks to someone else. Only good thing were that prices were kinda low but I'd expect that from an establishment like this. Won't be coming back unfortunately.
Enjoyable drinks for fair prices Ordered the Hi Mr Only drink Sweetness could not be adjusted, and was overly sweet for me. Too sweet Drink was still tasty however Service was pretty quick, got my drink in less than a few minutes of waiting
I love tea makers. It's my absolute favorite place to get a fresh tea in Ktown. Everyone I have taken here has enjoyed it equally- there is something for everyone! you can adjust your level of sweetness and ice. Additional toppings are reasonably priced. Quick service, and great taste. A bit of customization needed for each drink but fun experience for kids and adults.. The tea was good..
Small shop, tight window but you can see them making it in front of you. No seating, so stand and wait while they take and make your order. Tea was ok, not bitter but not very strong. Sesame version was gritty as expected, but not a lot of sesame flavor, more sweet would have been good with this one. Lots of randomly creative drinks, will come back to try something else later.
With so many bubble tea places in Koreatown, on a Sunday afternoon where there's so long lines and waits I decided to pick up a drink at Tea Makers. It is a tiny drink stall where you order, pay & pick up to go. You will literally order on the street, wait on the street and take away. You get to take in the feel and noise of the street and vibrancy of Koreatown whole you wait. The plus is the drink are slightly more affordable than cafes. I decided to get the Iced cheese foam dragonfruit lychee slushie. First plus, not $10. Or was $2 cheaper than most other places that sell dragonfruit based drink. It only comes in large. I would say I was delightfully surprised it was refreshing, taste fruity and refreshing in a 80 degree weather. This has become one of my favorite and will come back to get this again.
My bubble tea crawl with my continuation singlehood journey plagued on in the peripheral reach of Koreatown, Midtown West, NYC to Tea Makers. This is a minuscule kiosk window business and can be easily overlooked to be missed walking by where orders are taken outdoors rain or shine. There is absolutely no seating - either indoor or outdoor and customers stand on the dirty New York City sidewalk while waiting for your order to be fulfilled. This bubble tea business is specifically takeout "to-go." Hole in the wall business? Certainly unpretentious, discreet and obscure, yes. Customers do see drink order fulfilled in your presence while you wait. It is a trek as I walked from 34th Street-Penn Station subway station's IND Eighth Avenue Line for A, C and E trains to get here. I am willing and able to trek far for good quality tea with grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 topping. Tea Makers carry my default favorite grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 topping as my primary raison d'etre visit including Jasmine Green Tea. The standard drinks are listed in their tea menu. A takeout menu is available for grabs. There are two large TV screen monitors hanging above the counter for their drink menu. Customer service is average, but not callous and not rude. Thankfully, I did NOT receive the nefarious abomination comment "after you pay" when requesting a receipt. Jasmine Green Tea $5.50. One medium drink with grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 $.075, regular ice 100%, and sugar 25%. I desired this drink to be cold and no milk. The ice was sweating condensation on the cup, but during my one hour subway ride home all the ice melted entirely again and again. The cashier shouted to the staff "NO, GRASS JELLY" for corrective action to the servers which I am thankfully that my order was accurately fulfilled appropriately. If there is tapioca pearls as a substitute, then I do NOT want it!! I do NOT want tapioca pearl for a replacement for my beloved favorite default grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉. Again, I refuse to adapt or change my predilections as it is my personality and personal taste. The staff heed all my requests to the tee. The grass jelly was chilled and delicious, but paucity for very minimal quantity. I have a predilection for Jasmine tea's aroma which also relieve stress as a health benefit. The cup containers is solid plastic with a removeable nib for the straw insertion.
This was one of the best tasting taro milk teas I've had in awhile. It was sweet, creamy, and tasted exactly like a vanilla taro pudding or dessert. There wasn't any powdery residue either, and everything was well mixed. That being said, the only downside was how old and stale the boba pearls were. If you've drank enough boba tea and/or made it at home, you can tell when the pearls have been sitting out for a long time, and unfortunately that was the case here. For a large milk tea, it was kinda expensive too, coming in at $6.80.
Great selection of teas and super friendly staff--really appreciated their recommendations! I tried the lychee spring tea since it's the most popular, but it was way too sweet, even at 25% sugar. The flavor was more syrupy than tea-forward, and the toppings added extra sweetness that overpowered the drink. Would love to see better balance by adjusting syrup and topping sweetness. Still a cute spot with potential!
Matcha was hand stirred! They're so quick even with a long line. There isn't any seating, it's more of a takeout spot. The pearls were sweet and chewy. I love how they had almond milk as an option. They used real fresh strawberries, which I LOVE!!!
Loved this boba tea spot. The bobas were perfectly cooked and were not too chewy or too hard. The price was very reasonable as well. The flavor was very good. I got the strawberry lychee green tea and wish I had one right now. They also added fresh fruit to the drink which made it even better. It's 2$ for this souvenir cup which I think is worth it! Sign up for the rewards, because you will be back here often.

By far the best boba tea I have had, went back to check if I had a good strike but is definitely a persisten quality, even the cups are great very detailed. The personnel could be friendlier, still the tea worth it. read more
Delicious fresh drinks. I appreciate that your able to choose the amount of sugar and ice you would like in your drink. Great idea for drinks. Lines where long but staff moves with great speed and is very informative to you when purchasing your drink. I would definitely come back for a drink. They have an expansive menu with lots of options to pick from, and I am surprised by how refreshing and tasty the drinks are. My friend and I were happy on our first visit here. See the description of the tea I got that evening. - White Peach Tea [GET]: My drink was good, refreshing and not too sweet. I got the tea at 25% sugar and less ice, perfect amount of sweetness and not heavy to drink at all. I can taste the peach tea flavor, didn't taste artificial to me. The herbal jelly is sweeter than other Boba chains, definitely on the sweeter side and more of a mushy texture, so it would be better if it got more of a jello texture. Ambiance: 4/5 - It is located in the center of K-Town in NYC, right next to Grace Street desserts. Tea Makers is only a stand with a small store front with no indoor or outdoor seating available, literally only take-out. There's huge menu display everywhere, so you can always take a look at the menu before you order. There's usually a long line and chaotic, because it is in a busy spot. Price: 4/5 - The medium white peach tea is $4.50, and I got herbal jelly as my topping for $0.50 additional cost. I would say the price was quite reasonable for a tea in K-Town compared to other boba chains like Gong Cha and Machi Machi. Service: 4/5 - There's around 4 staffs working in the stand making tea and taking orders. It looks like it is operated by a family. They are all attentive, efficient, and fast at what they were doing. Overall, the ordering process was quite seamless. BLUF: Great and refreshing Boba and tea drinks. If you want to try a new Boba place in K-Town, support local businesses, or get that classic bear container, then visit Tea Makers. We got the iced taro cheesecake milk tea and the iced strawberry cheesecake milk tea. They were nothing special. I didn't really taste cheesecake. Our drinks just looked pretty and good. It was like a regular taro milk tea to me. read more

This is now my #2 spot for iced bubble tea. It's in the heart of K town. There is not seating entrance or anything you order through a sort of window ordering booth kind of thing. Very large extensive menu so many things things to choose from and they have a flavor for everyone. Today I tried just their teas no milk. The ice dragon fruit was extremely delicious come with dragon fruit and passion fruit. The size is great amount and for extra toppings it depends what you choose can run about 0.75 cents extra. You can pick your ice and sugar amount as well. The drink itself was 7.25 which is on the steep side but its flavorful so good once a blue moon. My boyfriend got the iced strawberry lychee tea and it was was better than mine so good and sweet but in the best way again same size and if you add toppings it's extra and you can choose sugar and ice amount desireable. That was about 6.50 so again also steppe was around $14 for both. Now the service was quick the people were kind and there was no line so overall I'd give it a 5/5 stars because I wasn't disappointed everything was good and yes the price is steep but I feel like once a blue moon it's a good treat to splurge on read more
Seeing a large crowd lined up for here when passing by, I knew we had to stop by for a drink after our meal. I love an extensive menu, and Tea Makers had just that. Out of so many options, Pineapple stood out to me the most. The lady by the counter kindly explained Pineapple Fresh was a slush and Pineapple Spring was the tea. We ordered a Large Pineapple Spring Tea with Pineapple Jelly ($7). The drink was so refreshing! The tiny ice pieces are actually at the top, which is cool. I love how I can taste both the fresh tea AND the pineapple fruit taste. Not to mention, I was not expecting pineapple pieces inside. I would totally come back for their other drinks! read more

5 stars for the taste of their milk tea! It reminded me of milk tea you can pick up in Hong Kong. I ordered the milk tea with boba, pudding and grass jelly. The pudding tasted different in an odd way and the grass jelly wasn't as dense. I didn't necessarily enjoy the taste or texture of either and would order with just boba next time. The service was quick and they had a lot of options on the menu. Looking forward to going back and trying another drink! read more

Bubble bubble! Bubble tea! New Quick on the go bubble tea in Ktown! Location: it is located in Ktown! Just order and go! Service: I just ordered and go, no interaction. Food: BROWN SUGAR MILK TEA: it is actually good, does not taste artificial like most of the bubble tea shop! Ask for CHEESE FOAM with the bubble tea, it good!! i only tried this and I hope other flavors are good too! Price rating: 7 out of 10. I felt its expensive cause 7 dollars for large bubble tea! Definitely will come back! I want to try the roasted brown rice something! Please add cheese foam with your bubble tea! It is a must! read more
I decided to try the cheese foam i saw online, so i got one bubble milk tea with cheese foam. Unfortunately i was not a fan of the cheese foam, it tasted weird and salty. You're probably saying "so why did you give 4 stars??" And it's because the core bubble milk tea itself is very good. The bubbles are fresh and everything there tasted very fresh and very good. The right amount of milk and tea, next time i come back i will get it without cheese foam. read more

WOAH. One of the BEST places to get bubble tea in Ktown! Honestly, I already hit this place up three times and the drinks don't disappoint! I got the White Peach Oolong Tea (without the cheese foam) and it was delicious ($5.25). The tea flavor complimented the peach flavor very well. This will definitely be my go to drink! I also got the Taro Pearl Milk Tea which was also really good ($5.25) . It didn't have that grainy powder taste like other places (cough cough LOL) Lastly, I got the Cheesecake & Pearl Milk Tea which is the star of the show if you like sweet drinks! It's one you should not pass up on because it's so yum! ($5.50) Overall, Macao Imperial Tea is definitely a spot you should check out! You will totally find me there a few times a week... (what can I say, I love boba!) I just wanted to update- I tried the Cheese Foam White Peach Oolong Tea and I don't hate it! I actually really like it and 100% recommend this drink. The last time I passed through koreatown I saw a long line out front of this tea shop so I decided to try it when I came back to the area, although this time it didn't really have a line. The menu was pretty extensive so I wasn't sure what to get but decided to try one of their "unique drinks" called Golden Boy which was basically just artificial banana flavoring and milk. It had lots of ice and overall was somewhat unsatisfying. read more
This place is fairly new and the line was too long for machi machi so I wanted to try this place out. They have cute little bottles that come with their cold drinks but I don't think its really worth the price. I got the Sakura soda and Lychee soda. Theyre both not that great (3/5) and the Sakura was overly sweet and doesnt taste (?) floral that I was expecting. The lychee was not bad but also not too great. It was pretty much sugar water and didn't have any distinct flavor. I would come back to try their milk teas but wouldn't recommend their sodas read more

My one and only go to bubble tea spot in K town. Not only do they have the BEST tasting bubble tea, but they also have the cutest bear bottles that I've repurposed to propagate my plants and use as home decor. I love that you can taste the brewed tea and they use real cut fruit unlike the competitors around the area. They have the friendliest staff and fastest service. I'll keep satiating my bubble tea needs from Tea Makers! read more

- Small window to order - Lots of options (cheese foam too) - Got the passion fruit green tea with tapioca and another time with litchi jelly and the bubble tea - I prefer the passion fruit with lychee. It comes with two slices of oranges and a lime - The bubble tea is really sweet, the tapioca is covered in sugar. Tea Makers is a tiny street-side bubble tea shop that could easily be missed on this busy K-town block. The shop opens right at the sidewalk with no indoor space for customers, so plan to take your drinks to-go. They have a large selection of drinks from simple to fancy items, and social media worthy bottles, which I've never gotten. I prefer simpler drinks and have gotten a couple of fruit-flavored teas. One drink that I remember in particular is the red guava green tea because I don't see guava on bubble tea places often (if at all). It was yummy and I like that I could taste the tea as well. There can be a line sometimes, but I've usually stop by when there's just a couple of customers ahead of me. Got two drinks from here, the Sakura soda and the blue ocean soda with pearls. The blue ocean soda is kind of tasting like orange soda and the Sakura just tastes like sweet soda water without much actual flavor. Pearls were decent but not amazing. Overall at about $7 per drink it's pretty expensive for pretty mediocre drinks. The bottles are kind of unique and fun though. I think there is better boba at places like tiger sugar, xing fu tan, and dragon Tea. read more

Cute hole in the wall tea shop in Koreatown that you should definitely try if you are in the area! I really like the unique bottles you can get with your drink since you can reuse them in the future. I got a Sakura Soda and Lychee Soda and I have to say, they are very refreshing! They were a bit pricey, about $7 per bottle, but I would say it's fair since the bottle is reusable and looks unique. The line was not bad at all considering it is located in such a busy area. Even if the line was long, I think it would move by fairly quickly since they were very fast with my order with 3 people in front of me. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely try their other drinks as they have a wide selection! read more
The pictures of their cheesecake milk tea look so good but the taste was just average. I got the Uji matcha cheesecake milk tea and wasn't impressed. It was basically just a watered down green tea drink with salty cheese stuck on the side of the cup. You can't really mix the cheese with the drink so you end up having to awkwardly slurp it with your straw after finishing the drink. Caution: the cheese tastes kind of greasy and made me feel nauseous after finishing my drink so definitely opt for another menu item if you're looking for something lighter. I got their "hi, Mr only" - classic brown sugar with milk foam - you can't adjust the sugar and ice in this one but nevertheless tasted pretty good and fixed my craving. They have plenty of other flavors on the menu and everything seemed normally priced read more

This small hole in the wall location off of 32nd street was slightly hard to find. But, it was worth the find once we tasted the drinks. They offer standard bubble tea to specialty menu. Also containers are unique and some comes with twist on/off square long bottle, making it easy to travel with. We went during a weekend when things were extremely busy. Definitely looking forward to returning and trying other items on the menu. read more

This is a small tea stand in Korea town. I've had the dragon fruit tea and the taro tea and both have been great. I got one in their little bear cups which were soo cute!! I think they were a couple dollars extra. My friends have tried their Thai iced tea and they really liked it as well. I like that you select how sweet you want to make it because sometimes bubble tea can be very sweet. I get the 25% sweetness and that is typically great! The service is great and fast! read more

This tea was so so good. It's not only beautiful, but I got the taro cheesecake, and the taro flavor tasted so natural and fresh, and the cheese foam was really thick and delicious. I don't like cheesecake, so I was glad it didn't taste like cheese per say, but just that the foam was thicker and creamy. I would've given Tea Makers 5 stars, except the girl at the cashier was so rude and unfriendly, unsmiling and when I asked her a question about customizations for ice and sugar, she grumbled under her breath and did a little wave for me to look at the menu. Well, sorry I didn't look at it because you were rushing for me to order!! The tea was outstanding though. One of the best I've had. Expensive but worth it. read more
