Stumbled into this place without even yelping (gasp!) merely because I was wandering around in Chinatown, subconsciously looking for a place worth checking out since it was my first time there. The sign caught my attention and there was a long line as I peeked in, so I made a mental note to self to come back later. When I did, the length of wait line didn't diminish much, but I went in anyway and got myself an almond milk tea. A few cultural shock points (compared to NYC bubble tea shops): - I ordered in Mandarin and was met with a confused slash apologetic look, so I made an awkward switch to English - awkward because I've never had to order bubble tea in English, not because I'm not fluent. So yeah, it was my first time ever ordering bubble tea in English lol. Not a bad thing at all, just different. - Prices were relatively cheap across the board. $3 for a medium is a pretty good deal to me as I'm used to paying at least a buck more. - They accept credit card!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also liked the layout - it's got sort of an industrial decor with its hardwood flooring, but also a laid-back lounge feel with the high tables and, check this out - JENGA. I was there by myself (touring Philly alone) but the thought of playing Jenga while sipping on a passion fruit bubble tea sounds so quirky and fun. Like an avant-garde way of bubble tea tasting. Also offers a variety of snacks, including onigiri rice balls(?!!). This place overall offers a refreshing, creative and fun ambience as well as decent drinks. Will definitely return the next time I come to Philly. read more

New tea/boba/coffee shop in chinatown! definitely cleaner with a much better ambiance than the rest around the area, but the taste of the drinks does not match the visuals of the place. I got the green milk tea, which literally tasted like water and powder. The iced-tea drinks and fruit blended drinks are decent, though you can still taste the powder in the blended drinks as well. not a good place if you want to sit and do work because seating is uncomfortable - high booths with short chairs. I am currently typing this while sitting here and my wrist is losing circulation. read more

This place seem to be the hot spot for BB Tea because as we were walking do Race St. in the afternoon it seem many of the young adults are carrying BB Tea with the Tea Do logo. This must be a good place we said. So we headed to Tea Do at the corner of N10th St. and Cherry St. The place is large with many seating options. There were junga, playing cards and other types of table games too. We got lucky and sat on a comfortable coach to relax our tired feet. The tea and food options are extensive. I opted for a peach black tea with jelly $4.50. The tea is fresh and the flavored jelly is delicious. Rate: 4/5. Tip: the couch is very comfortable! They do let you hang out and play games. read more

While waiting for our ramen reservation, my buddy was craving some bubble tea, so of course I went to yelp and this place popped up as one of the top spots. Also side note is it bubble or boba tea?? Regardless, I'll continue with the review The menu was pretty expansive (almost exhausting) trying to read it all. My friend had a clear mindset of ordering classic bubble (boba?) tea so his order was easy. However I'm not a big bubble aka boba fan, so I was struggling to figure out what my order would be. The teas with aloe took my attention. I eventually decided on the Honey Jasmine tea with aloe. The place was packed however they were churning out drinks at a relatively fast rate. Major Kudos. When tasting my drink, I could definitely taste the green jasmine tea, but I could also taste the 5 pounds of sugar they put in as well. My buddy wasn't too fond of his bubble/boba tea as well. He said it was too sweet as well. I couldn't finish but half of my large drink and my buddy finished half of his before throwing it out. That being said, I would still recommend this place because of the service and short wait time, however I would also recommend to go less syrup or sugar as it could also cause immediate diabetes. #boba #bubble read more

I've had a problem with consistency here: sometimes the drink is too sweet, and sometimes it's not sweet enough. The other day, the bubbles were overdone and tasteless. Also, when I get a large size, and the bubble amount is the same as that of a regular..just sayin'. Solid, but still room for improvement. read more

I really don't understand how Teado has such good reviews or if it's because I have high standards coming from NYC for bubble tea places, but this did not deserve to be called bubble tea. I was in Philly for a weekend trip and heard good things and finally decided to try it but NO ONE in my group enjoyed it, and I'm a bubble tea addict. Everyone ended up tossing it and we ended up getting sharetea instead, which was so much better. However, giving another star as they did not mess up our relatively large order via Grubhub. The taste was just off and was not pleasant. read more

Hands down the best bubble tea place we have been to. The service is fantastic and the teas are fresh and come out quick! Seating is limited but most people just grab their drinks and go. I recommend any of the non-milk teas with mango popping bubbles, or the taro milk tea with regular bubbles, but you really can't go wrong with anything here. read more

For me, it's so difficult to find decent bubble tea or even tea shops where I live. So when I went to Philly on a road trip and spotted Tea-Do while walking around Chinatown, I had to go in and try it out. Walking in, I noticed board games lying around which immediately made me start to like it. I think it's so great to have games lying around for people to play. Makes it so much more homey and cozy. I ordered the honey jasmine with aloe jelly. I liked my drink, especially the aloe jelly on the bottom. The honey jasmine and aloe jelly paired together was great. I really liked this bubble tea/tea shop and would definitely come again next time I'm in Philly. read more

We love love love this place. Boyfriend and I lived in Philly for two months and we were at teado every other day (literally, not exaggerating). We spent upwards to 600 dollars in two months on just boba tea... call that extremely excessive or this place is just delish. We usually get the same things although we have ventured to different ones only to return to the original ones. ABSOLUTE FAVORITE IS... dum dum dum... Peach Green tea, light sugar, ALOE VERA with no ice :) our signature! I got it hot once with boba and it was good too. The milk tea with boba is good... their boba in general just tastes yummy - not too chewy and not too sweet. This places comes highly recommended and I rarely give 5 stars :) enjoy!! read more

Love me some milk tea and boba and for 3$... Love it even more. This is a great modern tea house which is always packed after work with people hanging out, chatting and playing Jenga. There is hardly ever a line to order drinks and they are made quickly. Can never go wrong with the tai milk tea. read more

Tea Do offers more than JUST bubble tea...they offer a whole bunch of different snacks and various drink mixes to spice up your ordinary bubble tea. Best of all, everything is reasonably priced! One of their more popular drink concoctions, Fire Dragon, with red beans, boba/bubbles/balls (whatever you may call it depending on where you're from), and grass jelly is a super delicious, sweet treat. I've also tried their taro tea with pudding, something I've never heard of before and it turned out to be nice and refreshing! What makes Tea Do different from the other bubble tea places are the small snacks and appetizers such as onigiri (different filled rice rolls), desserts, mocha, edamame, salad, fish balls and surprisingly lots more. Plus, there's a really nice atmosphere for hanging out or you can just grab-and-go! If you're in the area, give this place a try! read more

Thanks to bubble tea reviews on Yelp I read about this delightful place and am so happy that I went. I have seen the bubble tea places right on Arch but this one was a little bit off the beaten path. The bubble teas that I have had in the past have all been decidedly too sweet so I was pleasantly surprised by tea-do's wide array of seemingly "healthy" bubble teas. I had the grasshopper and it was wonderful. It was made from green apples and pear and had pieces of lychee and I think aloe on the bottom of the cup. So refreshing and delicious. Now that I know about this place I can't wait to go back. A perfect treat that is in my opinion so much better than ice cream, or frozen yogurt. read more

Tea Do is a good place to get a quick drink. It is clean-cut, has a nice aesthetic and an overall broad selection of drinks to choose from, including some food options. My favorite drink to get here when I want something sweet is the Zen's Awakening. It has a mocha coffee flavor! You can add boba to almost any drink too. I will say from trying other places boba, I do find theirs to be a bit smaller and more firm. Overall though, if I am in the area I will stop by for something refreshing. read more

Whaaaaaaat? Thai tea bubble tea??? Whaaaaaaat? Green tea that's indulgent (and no no no don't you dare think of Starbucks!!! These are different!!!) ??? Ahh and it's even got a place to hang out :-) So far, have only tried The Grasshopper: green apple, pears, green tea, and lychee jelly. Yes, Tea Do has maximized the usage of a childhood favorite snack that one can easily find at the Asian supermarket. I said 'childhood snack' but as of today it is making a comeback into my 24th year of life! All i can say is: refreshing in every way, despite the name ;-) thank you to my dear college friend who i had only rekindled with only after ohhh years??? she took me here for a pick-me-up after a hefty lunch :-) read more

Teado is a great place to go to for a variety of bubble teas (milk teas or fruity teas)! I'm not a big fan of milk based bubble teas so that's why I love this place over the other places in Chinatown. My personal favorite is First Love, which is a passionfruit based bubble tea with aloe. They can also customize the amount of sugar and ice you get if you ask for it. This place is always busy at any time of the day but the wait isn't too bad. They sell little appetizers too e.g dumplings/gyoza. Overall, it's a definite visit whenever I come into Chinatown. read more

Service was quick and there's lots of room to relax and enjoy your drink, but I was underwhelmed by the bubble tea. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with pearls (hot) and although I wanted to love it, the milk tea tasted artificial and the bubbles were soft and virtually tasteless. My drink came out in literally 30 seconds - good because I didn't have to wait, but bad because they probably didn't put much effort into making my drink. Would only come here again if I needed somewhere to sit and relax with a friend, but it won't satisfy my future btea cravings. read more

just $3 for a regular sized milk tea with pearls INCLUDED.. not prices i am used to in NYC! they have off the menu options so it doesn't hurt to ask if they can make the drink you want, it worked for me! ---coffee milk tea (not on the menu): pretty good! ---peach black tea w/ aloe jelly: WAY too sweet & syrupy, ask for less sugar if you get this one ---honey jasmine tea w/ aloe jelly: also a good one! they offer JENGA to occupy your attention as you sip your tea.. I believe this was the first of the tea places in that area, so I've gotta go to the original one right? Every time I come here, this place is PACKED... like super packed. The line is long, but moves quickly because the staff is making teas like crazy. Most of the time, you should expect a wait. You can make your tea however you want [boba, jelly, sugar..] so it makes for alot of variety. They tend to fill half the cup with boba.. so with ice, that makes for very little tea. So ask for light boba [unless you love that stuff]. Black Milk tea My go-to tea, classic, but get it with less sugar. Jasmine Milk Tea One of the best Jasmine teas I've had. Taro Milk Tea Its normally super sweet, so I get it with less sugar. It almost tastes like Captain Crunch/Cookies n Cream. Weird (I know) but cool at the same time. I've played an hour game of Uno here, watched countless Jenga fails, and seen this place packed to the brim. Awesome tea spot that keeps me coming back. read more

Cute little Bubble Tea shop in Chinatown. I went on a Friday night so it was a little crowded. The menu is a expansive but a little hard to read. It can be a little overwhelming because there was a lot of people and a lot of choices. It would help if they had physical menus to look at instead of the digital board. We ordered and within 3 minutes our tea was ready. My husband and I opted for popping boba. I went with the pineapple bobbing boba. I thought it was perfectly sweet but I think I should have customized it to be a little less sweet. I would definitely recommend this place but i think there are less stressful/confusing tea shops in Chinatown. read more

I visited Philadelphia for a day trip and stopped in Chinatown for some bubble tea. The menu has a wide variety of options, and I went with the blueberry green tea. It was really sweet, and I was happy to see that flavor as I typically don't. The workers were very kind also, would come back if I'm ever in the area again. read more

I love Tea Do!!! I usually get the Thai Coconut with Jelly Smoothie or the Red Bean one. It's usually always crowded when I come here, but they have quite a few employees so I never have to wait too long to get my drink. MILK TEA REVIEW ONLY: FOUR STARS I think I might have found my substitute for Zhong Gang after hours. Mong Kok's and Tea Talk used to be bearable, but lately it has been too creamy and left me with a bad aftertaste. I've had the milk tea hot and cold here already, and both times were great because they were refreshing and smooth. However, the milk tea here is $2-$3 each and is definitely more expensive than Zhong Gang's, but you gotta do what you gotta do when you can't get your Zhong Gang fix, you know? Can't wait to try the small eats the next time we visit! read more

mmmmmmmm i love coming here for bubble tea whenever i'm in philly! Flavors i've tried and liked: taro (not too sweet, which i like), thai iced tea, regular milk tea, grasshopper, firedragon grasshopper was good but i think it would depend on my mood. it was not milky type but more fruity tea type. firedragon will fill you up! it has lots of things inside and tastes good. price is about average for philly/nyc bubble tea. maybe i'll try the foods next time i come. recommended! read more

I had a Jasmine Green Milk Tea with boba, and the tea had good flavor and so did the boba, but it was on the softer side.

I was really intrigued by the popping bubbles and decided to try the Lychee variety with popping bubbles. I could definitely taste the tea, and though the lychee flavor was quite a bit more syrupy than fruity, the drink was quite refreshing at first. However, the more I drank of it, the more artificial the bubbles tasted. They are basically drops of syrup (or syrupy chemicals?) enclosed by some kind of smooth skin that pops when you bite into it. Next time, I'll just stick to regular bubbles. They have some interesting flavors under their "Specialties" section that I'd love to try. I also had a serving of takoyaki, which was just OK. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place if your body can't tolerate too much artificial intake, but if you are looking for a refreshing drink and want to try some interesting flavors, this is the perfect place! read more

My favorite of the 3 main boba places in China town! My only beef is that they don't have loyalty cards!! I go so often! I think they use level up, but it's incompatible with my phone. :( I always get the jasmine green milk tea w/ Boba, less sugar, less ice. The jasmine green milk tea is not on the laminated one pager they show you, so make sure to request for it! (also say it carefully and make sure they understand or you might end up with the Japanese green milk tea..., which is a matcha milk tea and not my thing at all). read more

I have always been a fan of Tea Do but Kung Fu Tea (KFT) just opened up in Chinatown that is going to give them a run for their money. KFT is more spacious and they use real tea leaves (so I've heard). But KFT charges 50 cents extra for Bubble/Boba/Pearl/Tapioca (whatever you want to call it). I'll always go back to Tea Do, but from time to time, I will go to KFT. Anyway, My favorite thing to get from Teado is their Thai Iced tea and spam onigiri. They make it the best in Chinatown. They also have fried fish ball and other appetizer like snacks. If you're in the 10th and Arch streets area of Chinatown, stop by Teado for great Thai iced tea. Also, they open until 1am and they accept credit payment without a minimum purchase amount, which is freakin awesome bc who carries cash anymore! read more

Yum yum yum! This bubble tea was fabulous and I loved how many options I had. I got the mango bubble tea with mango jelly and tapioca pearls which was simply delicious. My aunt got the lychee tea with popping bubbles and her fiancé got the jasmine milk tea which were also both very good. I've never seen quite a selection like they had here. Various different types of tea (smoothies, milk, juice) and all types of fun jelly (lychee, mango, grass, etc) to add alongside with the popping juice bobas or regular tapioca pearls. The smoothies are made from fresh fruit (I saw them make mine with mango and juice). I probably would ask for slightly less sugar next time since it was on the sweet side but it totally satisfied my bubble tea craving! It was very crowded for a Saturday afternoon and believe it was cash only so be prepared with cash and to wait a bit, definitely well worth it though! I will certainly be coming back here next time I am in Philly! read more

First milk tea on the East Coast, and I'm impressed. Went in with low expectations, coming from NorCal, a hot bed of milk tea. Reasonable prices, good service. I got jasmine green milk tea, 30% sugar, no ice. Friends got thai tea, takoyaki, pineapple smoothie. All very good. 5 stars for the takoyaki. Main complaint was they only had 30, 50, and 70% sugar options. Cute place with games and magazines as well. Handled big group orders efficiently. read more

I just think it's ok. They are an extremely busy establishment, so you don't really get much "service." It's a what can I get you and that's basically it. That's fine though, I like to just order and get on with it. I do feel the order does take longer than other places though. There were times when my number was supposed to be first, but 3 other numbers were called way before mine. :-( I've ordered a few things here already and have always asked for less sugar. I think they put way too much sugar, so be healthy and ask for less! Shakes are good, but I do feel they put a lil too much milk in it. I would rather taste the fruit or tea than taste milk. Another downside it that their fresh fruit items are very limited. I would like to see a place utilize more fresh fruit and less powder stuff. My husband wanted a strawberry smoothie made with real strawberries, but they didn't have any. The non milky drinks are good though. The lychee drink with some added popping bubbles is very refreshing. Lastly, the tapioca pearls are hit or miss. I've never had it where it's undercooked, but the most recent time, I felt it was too overcooked, but at least I know it's not old! :-) Lol. I'm still on a hunt for the best of the best though. read more

FUN! FUN! FUN! They have Jenga, a wide selection of drinks and food, ample seating, and late nights. Everyone is polite and it's really just a laid back spot to grab some bubble tea. Tea Do is a popular bubble tea joint in Chinatown with a big menu with a variety of flavors. Unfortunately, they forgot the boba in my hot milk tea, which made it a bit of a disappointment. I finally found a place that makes almond milk tea the right way. The unique thing about this place is you can replace bubbles in your drink with a variety of grass jelly. The number of choices are a bit overwhelming for people who have trouble making decisions like me. They have games for you to play so this place is a typical hang out spot for probably the younger high school crowds. It is pretty packed on the weekends, went there on a Sunday and the line was out to the door. However, it does move along pretty quick.
