My coworker ordered a medium Chai Latte ($5.25) and I ordered a large Honey Lemon Green Tea ($6.50). I also got a Custard Waffle ($5.00) for us to share. I didn't get any toppings but my coworker complimented their boba and how fresh and chewy it is. I think it can be accredited to how busy they are so their boba is probably fresh. I really enjoyed my drink as well. It was light and refreshing. The custard waffle came with 4 pieces and shaped like a cute paw. It had a mochi like batter and the custard filling was a nice touch of sweetness without being too sweet. Yum! We were both hungry so it was a nice snack to sustain us until our next meal. The staff here was super friendly. I thought it was super sweet when the warned me that the waffles were hot and wrapped it with extra napkins so my hand doesn't get hurt. It was so thoughtful. I'm from California where there is plenty of boba shops and this one is more aligned to Quickly's. The fruit tea does tastes like they use real fruit but the flavor is very watered down tasting that they probably don't use too much real fruit juice with their teas. The oolong tea was decent but the boba pearls were overcooked and mushy. Not very pleasant. Overall this was average and probably won't be back. I would definitely skip their boba pearls, not good. I cannot recommend this place enough. Other things: This is a relatively small store, it is mainly meant either for take-out, or for a short stay. Not much seating, sometimes gets hot inside. There are many different kinds of drinks as well (fruit drinks, smoothies, etc), but honestly I only cared for the boba drinks. Yeah I've never heard of this place before coming to the east coast, but I'd say that it's a strong competitor to Yi Fang for fruit tea. The Apple Tea was actually quite good. It had a super strong apple flavor, as if I was drinking straight up apple juice. Like freshly squeezed apple juice, not store-bought apple juice. In addition, the tea flavor was also pronounced. You can definitely tell that they're using real tea in here. Toppings were delightful. We got some rainbow jelly and they went well with the drink. There were real apple slices in the drink as well to add some texture and crunch. Only thing was I found the drink to be sour, but that's what you get when you're using real fruit. Maybe the apples could've been fresher? It was actually quite busy when I came, so the venue became a bit cramped inside. Tons of locals were here to order drinks, as well as a solid amount of white people (in Chinatown). If they've got the business of the locals, you know it's gonna be pretty good. We're late to the Black Tiger Milk Tea party, but wanted to try some anyway. Black Tiger Milk Tea is essentially just brown sugar milk tea with streaks of caramel that looks like tiger stripes. It was apparent that the only place that sells this was Mr. Wish in the Chinatown location. I've been to this Mr. Wish location many times and it is a comfort spot for me. The boba teas are always delicious but I wanted to mention the service, especially on June 2nd around 6:30pm. It can be overwhelming to pick the "perfect" boba place in Chinatown. I don't think there is such place since every place is similar in price (expect $4 a drink) and taste. It was my first time here. I decided to try their mango diced fruit tea. If you enjoy fruit, you would like this cause I fell in love. Its refreshing. After seeing so many high reviews about this place and their overall rating, I was excited to come here and try the bubble tea drinks. Sadly, I was left disappointed with the entire experience. I came to Philly with my boyfriend for the weekend and Mr. Wish was our last stop before heading back home. We were around the area and did a walk in at around 12PM. We ordered two regular pearl milk teas (one with 60% sugar and another at 30% sugar level). We regret not calling up earlier in advance since there was a handful amount of people when we got there. We just decided to wait since we figured it couldn't be too bad but boy was I wrong. We waited for almost 45 minutes probably and the staff was extremely slow with probably about 1-2 people making the drinks. I have seen way longer lines at other bubble tea stores before, along with pickups. What really pushed me to give this place 2 stars overall is the woman working at the register who was taking orders. She did not smile once and she was not friendly whatsoever, as we observed the way she talked to other customers. Not once was she courteous and said thank you. I wanted to use the bathroom as I had a drive back home. Although I knew the answer was probably going to be a no, I still asked because I figured it couldn't hurt. I probably should never have asked because her response was just "no, it's closed" in a very rude tone. With covid and all, the least you can do is just try to be nice to others. I do have to say though, we enjoyed our bubble teas as the tea taste was strong and the bubbles were very soft. The 30% was perfect to me and if you don't like your drinks too sweet, I'd say 30% is the way to go. As much as I want to give this place a high review, the customer service needs to be better if they want to attract more customers. I see other reviews mentioning about horrible customer service as well. I tried Tea Do which is right nearby and my experience there was insanely better, with quicker service. Mr. Wish is probably my favorite bubble tea shop in Philly for milk tea. Although their boba is not always consistent, their milk tea has a strong tea flavor which is right up my ally. Like many other places, you can adjust the level of sweetness of your drink. For me, getting black milk tea with boba with no added sugar is perfect (since the boba is already soaked in a sweet syrup). Also, their fruity drinks come with fresh fruit which sets them apart from some other shops and really refreshing in the summer time.
