The tea was good, though perhaps on the sweeter side (I ordered the lowest sugar option). The boba was perfect! We just stopped in quickly for to go orders but the server took our order as we were a bit confused by the order screens. There's lots of places to sit and drink your tea if you prefer and it seemed pretty clean and spacious.
This is the OG boba spot of the city. I remember coming here quite frequently a few years back but eventually it fell off my radar because I wanted to try other places etc. Over the years I have tried many flavors including Taro, Thai tea, Sakura rose etc and their quality of flavors and boba has always been consistent. I got the premium jasmine milk tea, which is just 25 cents more than the normal jasmine tea, so why not. I haven't seen the Jasmine flavor offered at many places so I was super excited about it. It is so refreshing and I am glad it is only mildly sweetened. The sesame is interesting if you like the flavor (not for me but my husband loves it). It reminded me of sesame sweets and I am not a big fan of those.
Teado is a favorite of mine. The Hulk is my go-to drink. It's sweet and refreshing, and the aloe jelly adds the most satisfying crunch. But I can never leave without grabbing an onigiri. They're only around $4 and always fresh. The salmon and shrimp tempura are my top picks. Perfect bite-sized snack or meal on the go. They also play the best music and the vibe is always great. There's seating, bathrooms, and WiFi, which makes it an easy place to hang out or take a break. The staff is friendly and service is quick every time.
Nice refreshing tea, I got the grasshopper tea which is a TeaDo special and it came out well.
Interesting bubble tea shop in Chinatown. It was pretty busy for a Saturday night. They have a lot of seats and some games. We got Sakura Rose Milk Tea. They were very quick with our orders. They have a machine that shakes the teas as well as seals the tea bottles. The boba bubbles were amazing. I really felt like the rose milk with sugar was the perfect amount of sweetness. It is cool that you have the option of adjusting the sweet content of the bubble teas.
I got a chance to try two Tea Do locations in Philly while I was here - this one being first, and, unfortunately, worse than the other. We ordered: Green Coconut Milk Tea with Boba (3/5), Thai Tea with Boba (3/5) I will say that what's great about this menu is how big it is, and you'll probably be able to find your go-to drink here as well as a ton of other options if you want to try something different. I'm a big coconut milk tea person, but this 'Green Coconut' drink caught my eye. I asked if it was a green tea based drink, but the person at the counter told me that it was actually a coconut milk tea that was made with a younger coconut, which meant that it would be sweeter and creamier. That sounded great to me, so I went ahead and tried it. This is absolutely NOT a creamier drink. I actually found it to be on the watery side, with these random punches of bitterness scattered throughout the drinking experience. What I will say is this boba had a pretty memorable flavor. Texture wise it was a bit too soft for my taste, but I appreciated that it had this sugaryness to them so it didn't just taste like biting plastic. It's also hard to deny the price - coming from NYC, we're so used to $7+ boba, so to get $5-6 boba meant so much to me. We got to try a few more drinks at the other location that may have skewed this, but in general I'd say the University Place location was higher quality than this one.
This is my favorite bubble tea spot in Philly. "First Love Tea" is my go-to drink when I'm down in Philly. Their drinks are pretty good. My friend always try to order different drinks to try out. The service is quick and they are very professional. They have amazing rice balls and appetizers. Our favorite rice balls is spam and Kenshin which has kani and seaweed in it. It is so yummy!
Yeah, this is a very average Milk Tea place in Philly's Chinatown. Came here to honor my boy Do Kyungsoo. It reminds me of milk tea spots like T4, RareTea, & Coco in terms of quality. Decent, but nothing to write home about. I had the Pandan milk tea and it was alright. It was a bit watery, and you could tell that they were using some sort of syrup for flavoring and not real Pandan. It was still pretty tasty tho, and the boba was good. Admittedly, their menu was quite extensive. The fact that they had Pandan milk tea was already a plus for me. Good times..
My favorite boba spot! It opened while I was in college and has had a special place in my heart ever since. The Tropical Twister and regular milk tea with boba are my go-tos. Pretty sure I came here on a weekly basis back then haha and it was a common spot my friends and sorority sisters would visit regularly. They also had Jenga and other games to play back then - not sure if those are still around now. There are a few tables inside to sit down at for a bit as well.
Mouthwatering deliciousness. Visited Philly for 2 days (Covid times) and on both days, I stopped by for Tea Do. I ordered the Honey Jazz and the Sakura Rose Milk tea both in medium sizes. The Honey Jazz was super refreshing on a hot day. It absolutely quenched my thirst. Love that I was able to adjust the sugar level and the ice level as well. I got 50% less sugar and less ice for both of my drinks and they were the perfect amount of sweetness for me. The place is a bit small but it wasn't too crowded the first night when I went. When I went in the afternoon the next day, it was a bit more crowded and the AC wasn't working so it was really really really hot inside. I nearly sprinted out the store after grabbing my drink. The employees were wearing masks and were quick and efficient with taking orders as well as making them! Overall very satisfied with the service and the mouthwatering drinks!

One of the best places to get boba! Most of their bobas are around $4 and that includes one topping. Most other shops make you pay $.50/topping. Also, you can get the drinks hot without an extra charge (most shops do this, too, but every once in a while I come across places that charge $.50 to make a drink hot...). You can adjust your ice and sugar levels as well, which is a plus! I got the "tropical twister" which is mango, pineapple, passion fruit, and lychee jelly. It was so good! I would recommend changing the sugar level because it's really sweet, but it's delicious. I didn't add any bubbles since it's more of a punch drink and already has lychee jelly, but I tried my friends' bubbles and they're good! They were the perfect texture and I would probably add them to my drink next time. They also have food options. Although I didn't get any, they all looked really good and I wish I would've ordered some (maybe if I hadn't spent my morning eating my way around town haha). Grab a cup and keep on exploring Philly! read more

I came here on a Saturday night and it was super busy but I actually didn't have to wait that long since they were pretty efficient. I ordered an almond milk tea, little sweetness with boba. A little too sweet for my taste and I don't think there was any actual tea in it. I may try it again if in the area, but it was nothing special to warrant going out of your way for. read more
It's my go to place for Bubble Tea, as it is for many others! First and foremost, I'm only a novice in the bubble tea escapades. However, whenever I'm in the city, I always try to make it a point to get some Bubble Tea. I typically enjoy the Thai tea with bubbles, semi-sweet. The environment is very lax and welcoming to lounge and hang out, theres also a decent amount of seating. However, I have seen it incredibly packed and the wait can be pretty long. I recommend it for anyone looking to get a cheap dessert after eating out! read more
I've come here a few times and this is my official fav place in Chinatown for bubble tea. It has more of a clean tea taste compared to Kung Fu or Vivi. I like the jasmine milk tea. You can tailor the ice and sweetness to your preference. The black sesame is good too but I recommend less sweet. Bubbles are included. They also serve some snacks that are reasonably priced. Jenga is also around so groups can distract themselves. The only negative about this place is no loyalty card and sometimes the lines are a bit outta control and disorderly. read more

Been here while I was visiting philly! Service was quick and the bubble tea was great. I got the original black milk tea. The place had good amount of space to just sit down and enjoy the boba tea. Also, it's in China Town, I believe. Go get yourself some delicious boba tea and then shop around! read more

Quick, customizable bubble tea at a good price. I got the Japanese green tea and the Thai tea. Both reasonably sweet with the tapiocas cooked to perfection. Yummy! read more
Tea Do is one of my favorit tea house for quite some years now. Why didn't I write a review earlier? I figure I want to try most of their menu items before I write them a review. The first time I visited Tea Do was back in November of 2012. I remember trying out the Tropical twister, I was like WHOA! Results from that *sigh*, going to Tea Do every other day just for their delicious twister:) After 2 to 3 weeks of Tropical twister, finally got tire of it, dying to try new flavors. So I got the Hulk, the Grasshopper, First Love, and Sunset all in one day. You might think I'm crazy lol but I couldn't help it. I fell hard for Hulk, so hard that I order Hulk continuously for a month. Sunset, First Love, and the Grasshopper were ok, didn't impress me. Didn't ever order them again, maybe I will in the future to refresh my memory of their tastes. When Tea Do introduce Onigiri for the first time, I was WOW by their looks, sushi in another form. I got the spam, shrimp tempura, and Kani. Fell instantly with love, when ever I get pocket money, I would rush to Tea Do just for their rice balls, insane right lol. Last night, after hubby pick up my Hulk and Twister, he told me Tea Do sell the light bulb drinks I was looking for. I immediately jump out the car and ask the staffs about it. They told me only got the Rose Milk Tea and Leprechaun left. Guess what? I bought both. Last night, 4 drinks total just for myself, I'm crazy I know lol. I know you might be wondering since is so good, why 3 stars? As much as I want Tea Do to be perfect but a few times I order Hulk and Tropical twister, their tastes were off. Like last week, my Hulk taste very sour and my Twister tastes plain, like what happen to the sugar. Maybe they forgot*sigh*. read more

Great place to stop by for an afternoon pick-me-up or an after-dinner treat. It's a small place and can get pretty packed, but they get your orders in fairly quickly. They have options for everyone: milk tea, regular teas, smoothies, hot, cold, various sugar levels, and a plethora of extra toppings. You really can come in everyday and basically never get the same thing twice. When I visited, I saw that they had a few winter specials. I inquired about the Hokkaido milk tea, and they told me it was basically like a caramel milk tea. Sold. I ordered a regular size with boba and half sugar. It was perfection. It really satisfied my hidden dessert stomach and I was a happy little camper as I strolled the streets of Chinatown. They have a few tables in the store if you wanted to hang out and play some games. Frankly, I wouldn't want to stick around just because it can get pretty crowded and I don't like it when my personal bubble gets intruded upon. read more

I came in with my two daughters who had some questions about the menu. The young woman at the counter was very patient in explaining the different menu items and options. We ordered a few drinks and enjoyed them all. Along with the Thai milk tea and Mango Pineapple Lychee Jelly we also tried the Passion Fruit with Passion Fruit Pop, Strawberry with Strawberry Pop and Lychee with Lychee Pop. The drinks were prepared quickly and tasted great. read more

Got the Tiger Milk Tea (which is just brown sugar milk tea). Wasn't bad; you could actually taste the tea in it (In case you didn't know, real brown sugar milk tea is not supposed to have tea in it despite having the word "tea" in the name.) which for the record I didn't mind at all. The heart of the drink lies in the bubbles which are cooked in a caramelized brown sugar syrup before being added to the milk tea, giving it its unique flavors. However I didn't taste anything special in my milk tea, just really sweet milk with tea. Would get a different drink next time. read more

On a recent day trip we got to stop into this tea shop. My friends had never experienced bubble tea before and this was a great opportunity. I tried the black tea with passion fruit and it was delicious. The tapioca bubbles are perfectly cooked, chewy but not mushy. My friend tried the mango popping bubbles and she loved how sweet and light and refreshing the drink was. This was quite a Hopping place when we were there, and as individuals in our late thirties we were surprisingly the oldest people in the room. Apparently this is a great place to be, I know my visit was enjoyable! read more

I was really craving bubble tea after visiting Reading Terminal and walking around Philly's Chinatown. As someone who hasn't been here in over 5 years, I was pretty overwhelmed by all the options. However, this establishment seemed comparable to Yaya's in NYC as they both serve unique drinks and rice balls. The menu was overwhelming and took a while to narrow down what I wanted. I eventually asked the cashier for her recommendation on the holiday drinks in a light bulb shaped cup. These are relatively common in NYC but I have never seen one this big before. I eventually got the Beast (completely forgot what flavor it was) with lychee jelly. It took a while for it to come out but the store was super busy. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the taste and size of the drink. It's in a super convenient location (5 min from Reading Terminal) and right next to Ting Wong, a great lunch spot. I will defintiely visit again when I'm in Philly. read more

Service and speed is very quick. I normally order 3-4 drinks per order and I never wait more than 5-6 minutes. Cashiers are very attentive with the adjustments to ice and sweetness. Boba is delicious and the perfect antidote to the occasional (read: frequent) homesickness for my beloved 626 read more

This is the second time I've stopped here and both times I've had a good/neutral experience. I ordered winter melon bubble tea and seaweed onigiri. The tea itself was the perfect level of sweet but the bubbles were small and hard--I think I got the last of a batch! The seaweed triangle on the other hand was really good. read more
If I'm around Chinatown, I would usually drop by and get a cup of black milk tea. I thought the regular one is too sweet, so I usually get it with half sugar. During the summer, I would get the cold black milk tea with bubbles or pudding. During winter, I would get hot black milk tea with bubbles. Bubbles get pretty soft in the warm drink, and I'd get a spoon to eat those soft and chewy bubbles. Their bubbles are usually pretty chewy and slightly sweet. Not all bubble tea shops can make their bubbles as delicious. I would know because I used to work in a bubble tea shop in college! My friends have tried several of their other tea flavors and they usually like it. Unfortunately, I never tried other flavors because, well, I love my black milk tea with half sugar!! I wouldn't expect any service from this place. It can also get very crowded at times because it seems to be a hangout spot for high school and college kids. If you managed to get a seat, though, you can relax and play jenga with friends. It's fun! Oh yea, they have a couple sets of jenga laying around for customers to play with. read more

Order: S8. Mango Pineapple Smoothie G4. Mango Green Tea Cute little hangout spot. The green tea was a little sweet, but when you wait for the ice to melt, it balances out the sweet. The smoothies are delicious, but I wonder if they use real fruit read more

Came here based on all the reviews. I usually only ever grab taro smoothies from bubble tea spots because they usually are always good. This place was the same case. Really tasty taro smoothie! My friend tried the grasshopper which was a little too sweet for our taste but not bad nonetheless. read more

This is probably my favorite place to go for boba tbh. It's a great place to just chill & hang-out with friends and also has great boba & smoothies. I personally reccomend getting the mango smoothie with lychee jelly, it's sweet and the lychee adds a nice flavor to the mango. read more
