A couple of friends and I decided to stop by here for bubble tea after grabbing some ramen in Chinatown on a Wednesday evening. Even for 7:30 pm on a Wednesday, there were a few groups of people here just hanging out. The menu features teas, milk teas, smoothies and several other types of drinks, and they also have some food options as well. My favorite tea is jasmine, so I went with the jasmine milk tea with tapioca bubbles. They have both regular and large, and the prices aren't bad at all. My tea came out quickly and was delicious with a strong jasmine taste, just how I wanted it! There were also plenty of bubbles. I also got to taste my friends' taro milk tea and mango passion fruit smoothie, and both of those were great as well. I loved this bubble tea spot and I will definitely be coming back when I'm in the area! Pro tip: you can ask for what percent of sugar you want in the drink. Now in fairness, I already know I didn't order the best drink to evaluate Tea Do on. My go-to order of Black Milk Tea with boba is my usual measuring stick since it's pretty standard and a staple sort of drink. However, since I had a hankering for something sweeter, I went off the specialty menu and ordered a large GRASSHOPPER ($5), which included Green Apple, Pear with Green Tea, and Lychee Jelly. The combination of ingredients sounded pretty good and I knew it would satisfy my craving. Unfortunately though, it did too good of a job. While I really liked the mix of fruity and green tea flavors, it was simply too sweet. If they took out the apple and/or put in less lychee jelly, the drink would have actually been pretty good. As it was though, it was okay but refreshing (it was pretty muggy out). Since I'm not familiar with Philadelphia, I can't say how Tea Do ranks against nearby competitors, but it seems like a pretty decent spot. I really liked the Japanese Green Milk Tea that I ordered - it wasn't too sweet or artificial tasting. I've also had their Fire Dragon (red bean, milk, grass jelly, and tapioca), which I unfortunately did not like very much. I ordered it solely for the red bean, but found the rest of the drink quite bland. The red beans were the only thing that added flavor, but they got lost at the bottom with all the tapioca. I also tried a sip of my friend's Sunset (kumquat, lemon, and aloe jelly), which tasted like a sweet, citrusy jasmine tea. At $3-4 for a regular cup, their drinks are reasonably priced and I'd like to come back to try other flavors and types of tea, like the popping bubbles. I was around the chinatown area of Philly with my boyfriend and we wanted a refreshing tea drink. We ordered online and we both got the Tropical Tea Twister since there were a lot of reviews highlighting it. One was with 30% and the other at 75%. This place is one of my favorite tea places in Philly. They have a little bit of everything for everyone. I enjoy their black- or green tea-based drinks the most. Some of my favorites include - First Love (Red Guava, Passion Fruit, Aloe Jelly), Passion Fruit Black Tea with Mango Jelly, Honey Jazz (Honey, Jasmine, Lemon, Aloe Jelly), and Sunset (Kumquat, Lemon, Aloe Jelly). I do recommend reducing the amount of sugar and ice in your drink, as I am sugar-sensitive and like a less ice/drink ratio. However, I do not prefer the milk bubble tea here. I would much rather go else where for those, but I know their Thai Tea is quite popular. Additionally, I really like their onigiri and fishballs as a quick snack or light meal. Typically, I can order two onigiri and be satisfied for a while. They offer onigiri filled with avocado, kani salad, spam, seaweed, salmon, shrimp tempura, or Kenshin (kani & seaweed). I LOVE this place - I thought that because I didn't like boba I'd never be able to enjoy bubble tea but I love that you can customize the drink without the boba or with special boba if you're feeling dangerous. I also really appreciate that you can get any drink with varying amounts of sugar. My favorite drink is anything taro flavored (milk tea in the winter and smoothie in the summer) because it's like cookies and cream but purple! I usually get 30% sugar. 100% sugar is WAY too sweet for me - keep that in mind when you're ordering. I also like that they have tables for seating and multiple sets of jenga and uno waiting for you to relive you're younger years. I brought my parents and a sister here for a study break when they were visiting and we had so much fun just sitting at a table and playing uno while we waited for our drinks to be made. Hands down the best boba tea in town! This place is always busy but don't be afraid, they always have two registers running so it moves quickly. They take cash and card. I would say a better layout would help as people were congregating around the tables, making it hard to get by to take the orders. Came here on a Saturday evening after dinner with friends at spice 28. It was the perfect little night cap. I had their jasmine milk matcha green tea with little sugar and less boba. The girl in the front was very helpful and friendly. She was patient and answered all questions with a smile on her face. The tea was flavorful and wasn't overpowered by the milk, nor was it at all watered down-- pretty yummy. The boba pearls are soft and a good consistency-- they are smaller than I am used to, but this isn't a bad thing. Just different than what I have had in the past. I wish there was a location in Atlanta. Seating was kind of difficult because the place is pretty small and it gets fairly busy. Table tops were a little bit sticky. I liked that they have little games available for patrons (i.e. Jenga). I really appreciated the great customer service and the tea and boba were both great. I did ask for less boba, but there was a LOT in there.. Guess I can't complain too much-- at least it was more versus too little? Anyhoo, we got the regular size for around $3 (they have a large size as well for around $4). Pretty standard pricing for boba tea. Overall good tea and great service. Very chill interior, and some of the best bubble tea in the area. While I am not a huge boba fanatic, the wide variety of flavors and types of drinks, from milk tea to coffee, available here make Tea Do one of my favorite places to grab drinks in Philadelphia Chinatown. The milk tea isn't too sweet and has the perfect mix of ingredients, not too watered down either. One thing that made Tea Do especially stand out was the promptness of its service, despite a high volume of orders. Even when the interior is jam-packed (as you can see from the photo), it takes max 10 minutes to make your drink and at the same level of high quality as ever. The interior is very clean, with ample seating, whether you are waiting for your drink or actually want to enjoy your boba tea inside the establishment. My only complaint would be that it's a little busy, so very crowded if there's every more than a couple dozen people inside. The location is also very easy to find within Chinatown, with a large Tea Do sign that makes it easy to find. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for milk tea. read more

At first, we were wondering if it could possible be the same Teado we fell in love with in New York City's Chinatown (see Yelp review for this awesome place!). Unfortunately, it wasn't the same place; however, the milk tea here was pretty good in their own right. We ordered the Red Dragon (red bean, grass jelly, boba) and Honey Jasmine with aloe vera. Like many places now, you can adjust the sweetness level and amount of ice to cater to your personal preferences. The drinks were pretty good and weren't watered down or had the distinct artificial flavors that many other milk tea places try to pass off as tea. Before we left, we ordered a mango black tea to go. Popped in Tea Do on a Wednesday before Halloween. They had they place decorated in theme. The space is pretty nice with seating and a couple of couches. The line wasn't too bad when I was there. I had the green tea smoothie and it was very good. It tasted like a green tea milk shake and was not overly sweet. I could taste the matcha. My daughter had the Thai Iced tea bubble tea and my wife had Passion Fruit/Mango drink. We all really liked our choices and of course tried each others drinks. I'm not a big fan of these bubble tea shops. However, this one was fast and efficient. The almond tea that I ordered was actually more like an almond milk. I asked for no sugar, and added a little sugar myself. I generally find that even at 30% sugar (the lowest before zero), it was still too sweet for me. The tea (and other drinks) is absolutely top-notch. You won't find anything better in the city. You might find close to the same definitely not 'better'. My wife and I also very much enjoy the Onigiri, I like the Spam but her, being the healthier and smarter one, likes the avocado variety. With regards to cooked foods they also have several other options. I must say that often what I notice the most is the customer service. The girls/guys at the counter are intelligent, well spoken and never seem to get anything wrong. Picked this spot based on other yelp reviews.. It's a small spot and they can definitely use more seats. While waiting in line I heard a few people complaining about the lack of seats too. This place was packed. Waited about 15 for our drinks. Service was ok and the green matcha w boba was just ok. The tea flavor was good but the boba are a bit small. The middle of the boba was just a tiny bit hard.. they need to cook it just a little more. I got the thai milk tea with Boba and 30% sugar. My friend ordered the regular taro milk tea with hundred percent sugar and boba as well. As always, both teas were flavorful, the perfect temperature, adequate sugar levels, and made quickly for us. Pro tip - as always, you can adjust sugar levels as low as 30% of normal. Pro tip #2 (because u just can't have enough pro tips) - they do to go!!! And their seals are spill proof! They even give perfect carrying bags. The best part about Teado continues to be the endless combinations and willingness of staff to combine multiple flavors and recommend what works best As usual, they also have a variety of food items. The high school crowd has found a new after school place which is a lot better place than were I use to hang out in high school. There is Jenga and cards for people to play which I think was a very smart idea. I've had the Green Apple with lychee jelly and green tea and do not like it as much as plain green apple lychee as other places. But that's very a very personal opinion because I'm not a huge fan of tea. But the boyfriend did get me addict to their Lemon-Honey tea! I've also had the Takoyaki here. They say it's 6 balls but it's really only 3 because they cut them in half or they just can't make it round. But it's only $3 so I guess it's good or bad depending on how you want to see it. The taro was really good but the red dragon was an awesome blend of red bean, boba, and grass jelly. All my favorite things in one drink! Ordered two standard bubble teas with grass jelly added, and my wife and I thought that it was good, but the tea flavor was really strong. I guess that shouldn't be a complaint, because you would be getting your money's worth, but the stronger the tea, the less refreshing the drink gets. The two teas were sans sugar, so the extra bitterness was even more pronounced. Don't get me wrong, the drinks were good - the boba and grass jelly were decent. One of the best places to get boba! Most of their bobas are around $4 and that includes one topping. Most other shops make you pay $.50/topping. Also, you can get the drinks hot without an extra charge (most shops do this, too, but every once in a while I come across places that charge $.50 to make a drink hot...). I would recommend changing the sugar level because it's really sweet, but it's delicious. I didn't add any bubbles since it's more of a punch drink and already has lychee jelly, but I tried my friends' bubbles and they're good! They were the perfect texture and I would probably add them to my drink next time. They also have food options.
