Strawberry Milk Tea & Matcha Milk Tea
    Norma S.

Came here on a Thursday around 7:00 pm no wait to order. Street parking. Inside was cute decor kinda tight seating. Service was friendly. They took a bit to give our order so have us free eggrolls. We ordered the dumpling they were a bit smaller than I thought but was good. Spring roll was good. Strawberry milk tea was refreshing. Matcha milk teas with boba was good. Price point was a bit high but understand since it is a small business. Overall, good time.

Came here on a whim looking for late night boba with the girls -- Little hole in the wall. We didn't expect to order any food but decided too and got their fried hainan chicken... crispy and cooked throughly, with the sweet and sour sauce.... Yum Service was great and I consider on coming back for their dumplings.

tea 9 has a special place in my heart bc it's the first boba place i ever went to. it helped develop my love for boba . recently though, i have noticed their boba drinks aren't as good as i remembered tho. i do think that their matcha is pretty good tho . if ur not into boba tho, they have DELICIOUS food i highly recommend the chicken broth rice and chicken. it's sooooooo goooooddddddddd . the service is pretty fast here too so you won't end up waiting a long time! also the ambience is super cute! they have chickens as their mascot and they're so cuteee!!!! overall a 7.8/10 would recommend if ur in the area

Heard about this place on an app so I figured to give this place a try. AMBIANCE: Parking: Street parking. It's a busy street but there's also neighborhood parking you can try to find. Seating: Inside seating for small groups usually 4 people at a time. It has space for about 30 people. Feels: It's on a neighborly street of 4th Street. There's a mix of your local community houses and restaurants as well. It's not the more touristy side of Long Beach but more of a local side. The spot itself is lovely. It has a nice wooden and clean aesthetic to it. Great to study or hang out. FOOD: Strawberry Boba Milk Tea (Recommend) Pleasant presentation. The pink reminded me of strawberry milk when I was young. The drink itself was delicious. Moderately sweet and refreshing and the boba was chewy. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Awesome! A friendly elderly couple helped me. They were polite and pretty quick with the orders. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Fantastic! I enjoyed my brief experience here. The prices were reasonable, the choices were great, and the drinks were lovely. I know there are plenty of boba places in Long Beach this is a solid gem, especially in this area. Till next time, Tea 9! Tips: * Shared with Taishi Hainan chicken

The lady who assisted me was such a sweetheart! Definitely going back due to her outstanding customer service for more delicious boba and to try their food! She was so patient and kind.

My friends & I went on a late night boba run. We were looking up places that was nearby. This place came up on our app so we wanted to try this place out. As we arrived, the inside of this place was Japanese themed. You will see a white cherry blossom tree upon walking in. I was pleasantly surprised with the aesthetics of this place. Very cute! We came around 10pm, one hour before closing. We were seated right away. We were the only ones there which was nice. As we were looking at the food items on the menu, we all wanted to try their Signature Fried Chicken/rice dish. The chicken was very tender, cooked perfectly, & tasted very good. It came with rice & two sauces, a lime cream sauce & sweet & sour for dipping. Also, ordered a side of ginger garlic rice. It was mighty delicious paired with the fried chicken. For drinks, we ordered a Tea 9 Signature Milk tea, Strawberry revival, & Strawberry milk tea with boba. The drinks were moderately sweet, but I would say the boba wasn't as chewy as it should be. We had a great experience & it was nice to discover this gem in Long Beach!

This place is pretty cute inside. Lots of seating but I noticed a kinda weird smell when I walked in. I got the signature milk tea with boba. The tea was decent but I wasn't a fan of the boba. The boba was very unevenly cooked: some were cooked fine while others were undercooked and hard. The service people are nice and quick. It is a little hard to find parking but you can park in residential.

I've been on the lookout for the best coffee in Long Beach and I think Colossus might just be it…read more Colossus is an adorable storefront on 2ND Street. I'm absolutely obsessed with their coffee menu, baked items, sandwiches, and their selection of grocery-like goods. I ordered the Midsommar caramel latte, ceasar salad sandwich on their fresh baked bread, and the strawberry rhubarb and pistachio danish (!!). I'd easily sign up for this lineup to be my last meal on earth. I even ordered a sourdough bread loaf with olives so I could ride this high for several more days. The Midsommar latte is crafted with housemade caramel, espresso, milk, and topped with sprinkles of fennel and bee pollen - the perfect finale to an already incredible drink. To hear that they also offer an extensive pizza menu? You won't be seeing the last of me, Colossus.

Cinnamon Sugar Knot, Midsommar Latte ICED ONLY…read more This was my first time trying out colossus after always passing by it on my walks along 2nd street. I ordered a Cinnamon Sugar Knot and a after looking at the coffee options I decided to go with the Midsommar Latte. The Cinnamon Sugar Knot was pretty yummy, it had, in my opinion, a very good distribution of sugar all along the pastry and wasn't lackluster like I feel most places are. If you are craving a sweet bite of something I recommend the Cinnamon Sugar Knot for sure. The Midsommar Latte on the other hand had a pretty presentation and at first glance looked like it would be pretty good. Sadly to me the flavor wasn't there, it tasted very milky and lacked any other flavoring. It's suppose to be a spicy Carmel as described to me by the barista but as I stated I was just milky. If you crave more of a stronger coffee taste, as I tend to personally like, i definitely would stay away from the Midsommer Latte. The service was quick and the baristas were nice. There wasn't any music playing though when I went, maybe it was paused in accident, so it was extremely quite which isn't a bad thing but perhaps playing some lo-fi music to just set a nice relaxing tone would be great. All in all, not a bad little cafe, nice interior, yummy pastries, and good amount of options to choose from within the drink menu

The lovely man working here, I do believe he might be the owner, pushed together three smaller tables together so my group of five would have somewhere to work. Let's start with service: the woman at the front was very dry, quiet, and uninterested. We tried asking her if we could add cold foam or sweet cream to our drinks to make them sweeter, and she said it was only available on seasonal drinks. As an avid matcha latte consumer, this made zero sense to me. While I don't blame her bc she likely had nothing to do with that decision, she wasn't kind in relaying that information or trying to help me find something on the menu I may like. Her demeanor remained the same when my friend ordered his drink, and we both felt a very negative energy coming from this woman, simply put it didn't seem like she wanted to be there taking our order. This was around 1pm last Saturday (the 21st of March), so they had a decent amount of customers, but it wasn't some crazy morning rush. Forward to the drink : we grabbed our drinks which came out promptly. I tasted my matcha and just as I suspected due to the lack of sweetness, it just tasted like grassy chalk. I assumed that my friends latte would be better, as matcha can tend to have an earthy taste to it to begin with. Then I tried his... chalky and sour. Due to the lack of customization and the barista's attitude, we just took a couple sips and tossed our drinks. It was a super negative experience for a place I really really wanted to like. I think allowing people to use sweetener and cold foam on more than just seasonal lattes would be a great first start, and perhaps training the staff on appropriate customer interaction would also help. Loved the branding on this spot, but it seems like the people who work there don't want to be there and it really put a damper on the experience, and for a place so cute, the drinks and vibes should be top notch.
