This review is for a visit on November 7, 2019. I made reservations online for our party of four at 1:30, which is when they open. The restaurant was nearly empty upon our arrival, but by the time we left the place was buzzing. Teoric has an industrial vibe with exposed, weathered brick, high ceilings, hanging lights, and a row of oak barrels up on the wall. The space is dimly lit and long and narrow, which gave it a more intimate feel since you don't have tables on both sides of you. There's some outdoor seating as well. To start, we ordered the chicken and prawn croquettes (delicious), pan con tomate (good), and assorted cured Spanish meats (some were very good, others were just ok). I ordered the cod which was served with sautéed spinach, pine nuts, and black garlic sauce. I really enjoyed it. The cod was boiled but still flaky like I'd expect cod to be, and it was a welcomed break from the fried tapas fest I'd been on. They clearly emphasize service here. Our server was very personable and came to explain the menu offerings with us as well as the specials for that day. Overall, I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're in Barcelona.

First and foremost - this was one of the best meals I had on my trip to Spain (including both Barcelona and Seville). They only open for lunch at 1:30pm, standard for Spanish lunch hours, and it seems like you can make a reservation for even parties as small as 2, though I didn't really see the option on their website (maybe call?), but I would definitely recommend it. My boyfriend and I managed to snag a seat at the bar since we arrived 10 minutes before they opened and just waited to be the first people in the restaurant. The staff is extremely kind and offer to explain how their menu works and what they recommend in thorough detail. We ordered 7 dishes for the 2 of us and were definitely very full by the end - 1 from each "section" of their menu: STARTERS: 1. Catalan charcuterie meat selection (they recommended we also order the toasted bread with tomato as that how it's normally eaten - definitely do this if you do get it!) - The meats on there were probably more hit or miss for me (liked 3/5 of them) 2. Prawn and chicken croquets with saffron - We had to get these because croquettes for life but also because of the unique combination of filling, and they were AMAZING. So amazingly crispy on the outside and flavorful throughout. Would eat again and again and again. FROM ORCHARD: Pumpkin, goat's cheese, and black olives - ok so I hate olives, and I'm more meh about pumpkin, but this looked more novel so we thought we'd give it a try - and I'm so glad we did!! The pumpkin was done 3 ways: diced, foam, and seed puree with goat cheese ICE CREAM (love ice cream, love it even more in the middle of a meal) FROM SEA: Cod fish, spinach, and black garlic - A mash up of things that I love. The cod was SO TENDER, probably one of the softest pieces of fish I have ever tasted in my life. Sososo good FROM MOUNTAIN: Lamb, potato, and carrot - Also super tasty - such tender lamb with potato puree (they do love their purees) FROM MOUNTAIN AND SEA: Octopus, pork belly, and "Trinxat" - ugh honestly the star of this meal - nothing else to say besides that it was so delicious. Will be dreaming about this dish forever So happy that I got to experience this place when I was in Barcelona - I hope I get to visit again in the future!

A fantastic tapas meal in Barcelona! Everything we ordered was top notch. The cod is one of the best I've had (I am typically not a big fan of cod but this was amazing) and the pork belly was definitely the best I've had - crispy skin, meaty, with a good amount of fat but not too much. My husband liked the lamb the best - tender, and served over creamy, buttery mashed potatoes, with baby zucchini. IMO the chestnut mushrooms were a must-try, though they were a special of the day. Service was great too. I would love to come back! (Reservations are a must.)

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

Today they had one small table on the sidewalk and the rest indoor including limited bar seating. This is a spot clearly for locals as evidenced by the sheer number of people speaking Catalán around me. It's fabulous in every way- service, ambiance, food and what will be most surprising for Americans, price. For less than $20 I had tuna tartar (more like a guacamole with fresh tuna), beef short ribs, wine, coffee, water and the perfectly small sized piece of cake (tarta de Santiago) from the menu of the day Everything was amazing, and while I wasn't able to do so myself, many people left with leftovers. Come, enjoy and just be grateful that places like this still exist in the world!

Our server, Amaya, was funny, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He took great care of us, and every single recommendation he made was delicious. I wish I knew all the Spanish names of the dishes because everything was amazing. The highlights for us were the Bacalao -- so tender and full of flavor -- and honestly the best octopus I've ever had in my life. We also loved the soft steak with duck liver served on a slice of French baguette, the shrimp skewers, patatas, and the Spanish ham with tomato toasts. Every dish was unforgettable. On top of the incredible food, the restaurant itself has such an elegant atmosphere with beautiful décor that made the whole dining experience even more special. While all of the food was great, for me the codfish was hands-down the star of the show and probably one of the best dishes that I ate on the trip. The flavor of the sauce combined with the texture of the fish actually blew me away, and I can see why my server highly recommended this to me. I also love the grilled octopus (pulpo) and the seafood paella, which takes a while to cook so order it in advance. The drinks and coffee are always a hit, but I love that it's so close (within walking distance) from the Sagrada Família, so I always make an effort to come here after visiting the landmark. Service has always been great. I have usually been served by the Dark Haired Bartender (ask him about his sister in Utah if you visit). Everyone speaks English and is pretty friendly. It's a smaller spot on one side with bar seating and some tables inside and outside, but they have a more restaurant style sit down place that's a couple stores down so you can have the best of both worlds. I usually opt for the bar seating to people watch and chat with the bartenders.
