We had this company for almost 6 years with no problems. Then all of a sudden they were sending us past due notices. Tried to call customer service at least 3 times and they kept telling me to go to my online account because my card on file had expired. I was never even notified of this problem. I had trouble getting on my on line account because I couldn't remember my PIN number. Called again asking to help me get into my account. They couldn't do it. So we went in and brought the account current twice. I did finally get into the account and got the card changed. I received 2 more past due notices. Now we'd never been late in the 6+ years we'd been with them. We got so annoyed that after 3 months they couldn't get it right we canceled and went with another company that actually was a few dollars cheaper (which wasn't a big deal but necessary to change!) Lo and behold another past due notice came almost 2 months after canceling! Omg. Get it right!!!! read more

I pay for "high speed" internet at supposedly 100mbps. I get download speeds at a blazing 13 Mbps "wired connection" not wireless. Don't forget to add 2% packet loss to the equation!! I wish there was an option for zero stars. I gave up on the internet a few years ago. It would never work as promised. I lived in 2 different houses over that time on opposite ends of the city (Santa Clara/Little Valley) and never got anywhere close to what they advertised for speeds. After countless promises that were never fulfilled we cancelled the internet. We were lucky our house has one other internet option which is 4 times faster and I have never had an outage with. I still have the cable and the outages are frequent. For almost $100 month (no DVR or movie channels), the service is out 4-5 days a month. They do not give credits and whatever the issue is it has not gotten fixed. TDS took over for Baja and I didn't think it could get worse but it has. The customer service is worse. TDS does not put up messages online or prerecorded on the phone about outages and changes. You now have to wait, and wait on hold. The average hold time I have gotten is over 30 minutes and then when you finally get someone on the phone they have no clue what is going on. Please St George get another option! And for anyone buying a house make sure you have another internet option besides TDS, not every house even high end homes get good centurylink speeds and some have trees or mountains that block the wireless services. I have seen so many people regret their home rental or purchase because they didn't check the internet first! Anyone who has school aged kids is going to need decent internet not only to check grades but textbooks are online now. read more

Never again! I could live with their lousy customer support, but they repeatedly delivered only a small fraction of the promised bandwidth. Tried Century Link and also wasn't happy. So I tried Baja again (you know how memory of a painful event fades with passing time). After having an even worse experience than the first time I instructed my wife to beat me senseless if I ever suggested it again. I saw an ad for TDS which was intriguing, until I looked it up and found it was the same Baja under a new name. I can understand why they changed names to try and avoid the prior bad reviews. Worst customer service, cable, internet & business there is. The woman who work at TDS on 700 south are lazy. Lines are always long & there attitudes are horrible. I sometimes wonder if there lives are just as miserable as to when they show up to work. These employees can't even smile. Except for the guy who works there, his pretty cool & helpful. We just moved here and had an appointment set up with the company that sound like SmenturyStink (had them for 13 years at previous home) and they were having us wait over a week for install. I asked my neighbor who they used and told me TDS. I came on here and read all the reviews and was very skeptical but every company was low rated so decided I would give them a chance. I called in and spoke to Bianca and she gave me all the options and said they would try to get someone out the next day or the following. Awesome, so set it up, sent all required info they needed and then the next day was told that it would be until probably Monday or Tuesday for install. It was Friday and I was a little upset about this so I contacted Bianca again and she reached out to her supervisor and got it moved to Saturday. Appointment was for 8-12, tech called me at 730 and said was on way. Showed up promptly at 8 and got to work. Install went smooth and so far working great. I got the 100mb plan and at first was getting about 17mb, last night got 85mb and today so far. Will update later if it falls apart but so far really amazed at the great customer service we received. TDS is the Worst internet I've ever had!! I pay for "Up to" 100mps ($60/month) for service. Most I've seen is 32, and this was with their technician here. They have a monopoly in this state so nothing else to get. My phone data is so high because I cant even use the internet for my phone. They've been out multiple times to try and fix this issue, all leaving saying the same thing, "im not sure". If you can get something different do it, not worth the hassle of paying$60 for...oh yea the shittiest service! read more

Over the past 2 years they have been charging me $5 per month for a modem rental when I never had one of their modems in my possession. I gave them the information from a modem I purchased before switching from them and they now consider it to be their product. I've now canceled the service and they are trying to get me to turn in MY modem or they are going to charge me for the product I paid for to begin with. In the process of trying to figure all of this out I tried getting a hold of a customer service representative for 4 days (I kept giving up after sitting on hold for 30-40 minutes each time) the first time I called I was on hold for 87 minutes before I finally gave up. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE COMPANY! My internet works probably about 50% of the time. It stops working multiple times a day. This has been going on for a long time and they still haven't done anything about it. Whenever I call they reboot the service over phone but it does absolutely no good. They ask me what modem and router I have and I have already used theirs so I bought a new one. A modem and router that is so good, gamers use them. The problem still continues. I call multiple times again and they blame it on my new modem and router until I tell them that this has been going on ever since I had their modem and router. They then say they can send a technician out but it will cost me more money to cover for the technician to come out if they find out it's not their problem (putting more blame on the modem and router). Not only does the WiFi stop, but I have my xbox AND laptop connected to the router with ethernet cords. DON'T GET TDS!!!!!! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE COMPANY! read more

I have been with TDS for ten years. Just this week, because I was traveling, I overlooked a bill from them. They suspended my internet and I spent an hour straightening it out on the phone from an airport. This, after ten years with the company. I have ignored their consistent raising of rates, but their recent action demonstrates a company ideal that cares little for its clients. Goodbye, TDS. I have lived in several big cities and I've never seen as much blame pointed at a third party modem. I can reach tech support, but the agents don't seem to have a grip on why my internet quits intermittently and can't be resolved even after a modem reset. I'm not sure if it is poor training/staffing, or poor diagnostic tools about the status of the incoming service at the customer level. I have taken an almost new modem back for an exchange more than once now because a TDS rep said my modem was likely the issue. Today we came back from a hike, found that our internet was down. I tried rebooting and no blue lights. They tried re-initializing my modem, then told me to get a paper clip and do a hard reset. Still didn't fix things. The agent said my modem was likely the problem. I got off the phone, waited about an hour, and did another reboot and everything is back to normal. I know my modem didn't just heal itself. On another call, an agent told me there might be something wrong with the hub at the street, and that a neighbor may have a port open (whatever that means). There is something unreliable about the TDS internet service to my home. I'm told there are no area outages time after time. The techs don't seem to have good real-time diagnostic information at a given location. It's as though they are flying blind and trying to help with generalized tips and trial balloons. read more

If you have any other choice including possibly carrier pigeon, then I suggest you use it. If TDS is your only choice, then God help you, cause they won't. I recently ordered cable and Internet from TDS because I had no other choice. The box that they originally brought me with a DVR was defective. I missed the first quarter of the Super Bowl and almost all of the winter Olympics. I was on with tech-support every other day. They finally brought out another box and it worked better, but I just got tired of TDS and returned it out of principle. When I return to the box, the three clerks working there did not even recognize The box because it was so old. In fact the first one said to me that is not theirs. In regard to the Internet, we originally got their modem/router combo unit and the Wi-Fi literally would not go into the next room which was about 12 to 15 feet away from the router. We bought our own modem router combo which seem to help quite a bit. Then we had Wi-Fi, but the buffering on any weeknight and especially the weekend was awful. It would not run firestick without stopping a movie 12 to 13 times to buffer. So I upgraded the speed Because the answer from tech-support was that I needed more speed. Despite the obvious flaw in that recommendation and the principal fact that they essentially admitted that the speed they sold was in adequate, I increase the speed. Not one bit of change. TDS blamed it on my modem and router of course. I called the tech-support for my modem's company and they were extremely helpful in helped me set up a 5G and normal Wi-Fi so that I would have two choices. Of course, neither choice works and the buffering continues. Technical support's new idea is that I increase my speed again. But with the speed increase they require you to lease their new modem and router and so I will be right back to the beginning. In short, run away. read more

Had Time Warner in North Carolina and TDS cannot compare. Have been stuck with TDS for the last four years in Mesquite, NV and now St. George Utah, the only cable option available. Has been getting better, however, with Catch TV. Customer service has always been nice and helpful to me, BUT you can wait for hours and still get no response. This is a huge problem. Run from this company! Worst customer service I have EVER encountered. The attitude I received from literally every customer service person in the 4-5 times I had to keep calling over the course of 8 weeks was appalling, at best. Long story short, their self bill pay/login doesn't allow login in with the same password each month so I was always resetting it just to get on to pay my bill. I finally conceded and signed up for auto pay (received confirmation) but then my personal TDS rabbit hole hell began and lasted for the next 8 weeks. Late notices, late fees, shut off and reconnect fees all delivered by people that obviously place zero value or pride in their jobs or ongoing loyal customers. My final phone call (or so I thought) was demanding they not only cancel my service but reverse all late fees and reconnect fee. Topping on the cyberspace cake....final bill just arrived and the $25.00 reconnect fee is still there! Can't wait to call them AGAIN. Next stop, Better Business Bureau. read more

This company has the worst business model for getting COMMERCIAL support of any company I have dealt with. I have put in 4 requests over the last 2 months for a commercial account rep to call me, NOTHING. The individuals that answer the phones can do nothing to adjust the account like billing address, which you would think would be simple. I am switching my company to DLS as a result of my interactions with the phone attendants and the inability of commercial accounts to communicate at any level with their customers. Terrible company! They have a monopoly on my area so I have no choice but to use them but if I had a choice I'd be willing to pay more just to not give them my money. Their website is useless. Who doesn't have online payments these days? TDS. How about trying to pay by phone? Nope. You will be on hold for 30 minutes to an hour any time on any day and then disconnected so it turns into a 2 hour ordeal. It's about a 50/50 chance that I'm disconnected before I can hit 1 for residential. If you can get through to a human they are generally helpful but then they try to strong arm you into buying some other bull crap from the company. How about the paper bill or email? Well they spelled my name wrong for 3 months and I would call and change it just for it not to be changed. Also sometimes I get a bill and sometimes I don't. I have never gotten an email statement even though I was told I should. Quality of service? I'm a graphic designer and gamer so I'm paying for higher speeds but everytime I check my speeds it's only 12 mbps download or lower. I need it to be 20 mbps download at least for my job. This has lead to me not getting freelance work. My husband and I have to schedule our online gaming because only one of us can play at a time or it's laggy. Sometimes it's super laggy anyways. The saddest part is we don't have a normal schedule so we aren't even playing during prime time. When I had FIOS at my old place we had 3-4 people using the internet playing games and streaming at the same time while we were paying for less speed and never had a problem with lag. read more

Apparently all of their employees aren't taught the same thing because I was told 2 different things & got my services shut off. Why is there no 0 star rating. TDS is possibly the worst Internet provider except for maybe centrylink. The Internet is way over priced and is always dropping and it takes hours for it to come back up. I have tds at both work and home and I have to say it's been absolute hell. Need help getting your Internet back up? Forget about it. They don't care if it's down for days, you still get charged for it and they just put you on hold until after hours then they hang up. The TDS customer service is the worst I've come across. When connecting my business I had to go through several customer service reps before someone finally got me the correct info for setting up the answering service. They are dishonest and will not return emails or calls when you have a complaint. I referred a business and I have called and left messages, I have emailed multiple times the contact person who took care of the business and referral, I have contacted customer service and she claimed to have sent an email to the rep and her boss, I have emailed the person who sent me an email claiming TDS was already working with that business, and I finally went to the local office. Of course the manager was out on vacation and was sent an email explaining my situation.....I have heard absolutely nothing from any of them! I would not refer this business to anyone as I don't trust them and it is virtually impossible to get an answer to your call. read more

Had internet with TDS. They knocked on our door letting us know they were in the area, and would buy out any old contracts as a special promotion. Our internet sucked at the time, so we jumped on board. I was assured by the salseman multiple times that this was a "no strings attached deal." They'd buy out the old contract, and we had no obligation with them. A year later I was required to move for my job. TDS was not able to provide service in the new area, so we were forced to cancel. To my surprise I received a bill in the mail from TDS with a $200 "early termination fee." Confused, I called in. After I talked to 3 people who had no idea what this was, and insisted they don't do contracts, and there's no way I have a bill. I finally got on the phone with someone who could read my bill. After 51 minutes of holding and explaining my situation repeatedly, they finally assured me there's absolutely nothing they can do to waive the fee. Even with my situation moving for work, their lack of service, and the dishonest salesman. The $200 charge was a hidden fee as part of the promotion we signed up for. Since the technician came out to replace our boxes we had no TV, internet for one weekend and spotty connection since then. We lost connection to our house and a temporary cable was placed across our neighbor's yard and driveway. This was 2 weeks ago. Every time their car drives over the cable, we lose connection. Nobody has come to bury the cable and help us get service. When you call TDS, they are absolutely no help. "All we do is sales. Here is a number for an independent contractor." When Baja was here, you could call and they would diagnose the problem over the phone and provide immediate assistance. Today, now we have no service at all again. NO CONNECTION. We need this taken care of NOW. Not only are we disgusted with TDS, but our neighbors are getting very tired of the cable going across their yard. read more

I wanted high speed internet and a Landline phone for a decent price and they delivered. I told them I am E.M.F. Sensitive and wanted everything with a wired connection and they happily obliged I am getting 60Mbs consistanlty I am running two laptops at the same time with very good connection speed even while gaming on both pc's at sime time which they told me would be better with the faster plan.... but I still chose the basic plan with no regrets so far in regards to connection speed. We are currently trying to hook up a third laptop and have been having issues with I.P. address I called customer service It took A HOUR AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES to get it figured out! But they explained to me that I can't split my internet more than once (2 computers) with my current modem I need to upgrade to a wifi capable modem/router that has more ethernet jacks and have the wifi disabled per my request. I am goinmg to call to see about setting that up today. In my experience they have good pricing and better than most competition basic plan speed 60 mbs pretty happy with service so far except long wait times for customer service... read more
