This is my latest experience and worthy of a flag. Nothing I am about to say should be a surprise to any cable customer. All of the companies appear to be cut from the same cloth. First, my comments are not for the local representatives on 700. These are the diligent neighbors that through their employment work to unravel and problem solve scenarios created by their corporate representatives. They deserve gold stars for doing their jobs well. Second, TDS (Directv & Dish too) can't seem to tell the same story. Who tossed the script? No one quotes the same rates. The aim is to BUNDLE no matter what the call. Sales, sales, sales. No one appears to be listening to what the customer is requesting and actually needs. Do they know how frustrating this is? It goes against all points of Sales 101! Listen to the customer! How about trying to solve that problem FIRST before asking "do you want fries with that?" Next contracts and rates. Will someone explain why you would offer transients or seniors contracts? Both have been known to "move on" unexpectedly. One of the dumbest policies ever. Who wants to be stuck with any of these companies ever? This is for the company's benefit, not the customer. Rates are the hook...too good to be true. These companies are so friendly to the customers. The hammer comes at the end of the initial "contracted" period and rates have been known to double or triple. These parasites aren't known for reducing (or offering affordable rates to loyal, long time customers) rates. It is up to the customer to monitor contracts and beg or threaten to leave to get any deal (that may or maynot be available). Who has time for this crap? Cable and satellite companies have brought this distaste, frustration, anger, end of rope emotions from their loyal customers on themselves. If no one has noticed the young people have cut the cord, left the building, and dropped the mic. What goes around, comes around. Streaming/internet TV is the next generation of technology. No one is going to cry for the cable and satellite companies as they get left behind. Remember they put profits before people. Customers should always come first. My former employer's mantra: Our greatest asset leaves at 5 o'clock. See ya TDS, Dish, Directv, Infinity, Comcast, Time-Warner...the whole lot of ya! read more

The worst customer service you will ever experience in your lifetime. Aside from 3 phone calls to tech support in getting this box to work, I have been plagued with billing issues from the time I signed up, They overbilled me multiple times, They're calls go to a call center in Santa Lucia I setup Auto pay successfully and on the next billing cycle they disconnected my service for non payment, my card was GOOD. They do this so they can charge a reconnect fee AND a late fee, $37 added revenue for them. I made my payment over the phone to get current, $152 and I have a confirmation #, 3 weeks after they decide to charge my credit card with Auto pay for ANOTHER $152, I hour on the phone and they wanted to roll it over in the next month, I said NO, I want my money that you stole. Now I have to wait 15 days for the credit to appear on my card. I asked to remove Auto Pay, CANT DO IT, they made it so complicated, that it would take months and several more phone calls to cancel it... Well I'm cancelling them, I'm taking their box directly to the office. As far as reliability, the internet goes out randomly at least twice a week and it takes until the next day to get it back... The product works fine but the customer service very poor. The icing on the cake: Closed the account in August 2025 and paid in full. In November 2025 got a bill for $26.69. Called the number on the bill. The phone tree was malfunctioning, trapping me in a loop. Got a new number from website. I asked what is this for? You called us asked for copies of your bills (I had never received a bill in a year). They said there is a charge for each paper bill. I said I was not informed of this. They said sorry. I asked if they would considered zeroing out these charges. There literal response was "pay this bill or we will send you to collections." read more

Horrible company to deal with They should have there business license revoked. We had there service for 5 years and it was poor at its best. Dying legacy cable provider. I paid the prorated portion of my final internet bill, but was still continually billed for the balance. I spent an hour on the phone (including wait time) talking to three levels of customer support. Nobody had the authority or capability to do anything. I paid the balance due to make the problem go away. Uhg. I am not happy. Terrible customer service. Had to make a change to my service and these idiots tacked on a $50 installation fee. I called and told them no installation took place and after three calls and talking to a supervisor they finally took the charge off. I paid my bill on time and got a disconnection notice for an unpaid balance of $50. Checked my account online and my balance was 0. Called in to verify that everything was squared away and was assured it was done. They STILL DISCONNECTED MY SERVICE!! Of course they did it after their billing department closed so I am paying for service I can't use because the SUCK! read more

To be honest, I wish I could give them a zero star rating. Their customer service is the worst. We had scheduled an appointment to get our new Internet through TDS and they never showed up so we called and then they kept making up different stories about how we never made an account which we did and then they were saying that they don't do service in our area but the whole week we have been living in our new house we have seen them in the neighborhood working on our neighbors houses. Fuck TDS. We will never go through them. Do not go through them. They are shitty and will lie to you and make up stories that are not true. Please do not waste your time with them even though it is cheap. It is not worth it. We have called them several tines asking for a manager and everytime they would put us on hold and then disconnect the line. This is the worst experience we have ever had. read more

I moved and canceled services in October. TDS has been billing me $500 since then saying I haven't returned my equipment. I've gone in multiple times to the St. George branch where they've been very helpful. they said I'm good but every single month like clockwork I get a bill with a threat that theyll take it to collections if I don't pay. I've been on hold for 20 minutes and they just keep transferring me to different departments. I'm never using TDS again. read more

TDS has become very unreliable. Current outage has been all day with no resolution. Service has been out multiple times over the last few months. They are high priced, particularly with no acceptable competition - 3 times what we pay for superior home internet in Provo, UT. Very unsatisfied customer. read more

If they had a 1/4 of a star, that would be my review! Called 1 week ago, set up new service installation for today. Received a text message that the tech would show up between 8-10am and I confirmed that. They said the tech would let me know when they were on their way. Fast forward to 11:30am, no show. Called the number they provided, waiting on hold for 38 min before getting to speak to a "real person", then I couldn't understand most of what she was saying (clearly in another country). Spent another 24 min. on the line with her, she said all supervisors were busy today and that I could "reschedule". I said "reschedule"??? I'm not going through this again and stated that this was horrible customer service and if this is what the protocol was with this company, then maybe I should look somewhere else. She was of no help and didn't have any resolution as to why the tech didn't show up. Definitely would not recommend this company. read more

TDS here is Mesquite has terrible customer service. They have one good employee in the office, her name is Nicole. I give her 5 stars for her customer service. The other young lady with dark hair, didn't get her name has a bad attitude with a smart mouth. I had trouble with my bedroom TV, I told the tech Zack it was no rush. I texted him after about 4 days and he said he had to get a new work order to service the bedroom TV. After waiting another 5 days, texted him again and no response. With the cable service I ordered was about 125.00 just for basic cable. It's not worth it! So between the smart mouth young lady and being ignored by the tech, called the 888 number and spoke to Eric. I told him that I wanted my cable service disconnected immediately. He asked why, I explained and he was very apologetic! I disconnected the cable and took it down to their office. Nicole was very apologetic, I told her to keep up her good customer service, then Ms smart mouth let out a little sarcastic grunt. So yesterday I called to just get internet service, I was told since I canceled my cable I wasn't eligible for internet service for 30 days. This discussion went on for 20 minutes with a man I couldn't understand. I asked to speak to the Manager, after being put on hold, he said his manager wasn't there! Again being told I had to wait 30 days. I hung up from that call. Five minutes later, I get a call from a woman from TDS. She told me the exact same thing the other guy said about the 30 day wait. I said to her, why did you call me back?!? Again, English wasn't their first language, both of them!! Total rundown, it was beyond comprehension and the frustration that it caused me was off the chart!! This isn't even the whole story, there's way more, but you get the drift! If you're new to Mesquite, TDS is not the company is not for you. The customer service reps on the 888 number are very hard to understand, as English isn't their first language. We canceled our service and did not receive notice of an outstanding balance - we canceled mid-month and did not know that our "final" payment was not our final one. Two months later we receive an email that looks like we are still customers. When we called the service number, we find there is an outstanding balance. Two late fees had been added. Speaking with the service rep JOSHUA was an unpleasant experience. He would not consider any change in the outstanding balance despite our 7 years of on-time payments and lack of any notice that we had an outstanding balance. After a while, it was obvious that he was just a cog in the machinery and had no power to help us, we decided to pay and write this review. Ironically, paying over the phone incurred a $4.95 "convenience fee" for the pleasure of paying this way. Total insult added to injury. After 20 min. wait in the phone someone barely speaking came up on the phone and after hearing my issue disconnected the line. No privacy policy for the state of Utah. After cancelling services in November, I am still working with TDS to fix billing issues. I sent back the wireless gateway and am still receiving bills for it, they have sent back payments and charge late fees. When contacting TDS be prepared to spend an hour or an hour 1/2 on the phone explaining your issue to 2 or 3 people. Today I explained my issue with over billing on a payed bill, they told me they had sent the payment back to me, so I owed over 300 dollars, I told them they had not sent the bill back and it was debited to my card, after another 10 minute break I was told that my bill was inaccurate, at that time I responded yes I know that that is why I called, I then asked if they could verify the receipt of the wireless gateway, she said I have to contact a supervisor, I said please do, then after another 10 minute hold she said they had received the gateway and would credit my account. Do I think this will resolve the problem, after 4 mounts I am not optimistic. read more

How do you give less than 1 star? Literally the worst. Cancelled service in Aug 2025 because my internet would go out 6+ times a day. Would wait on hold for upwards to 2 hours. They would never send out a tech to my house. Poor customer service and felt like I was begging to be taken care of for what services I was paying for. Then got bills after canceling and finally got to speak to a manager who told me those statements would go away within a month once the billing cycle updated. Still getting bills. Call every day and struggle to get answers. Got a live rep and they transferred me. Then that next person transferred me. The third person couldn't answer my questions and I asked for a manager. Was told she wasn't working that day and would call me next day. Still haven't heard from anyone. They take my money, provide terrible service, tell me lies and then ask for more money. Stay far away from TDS. I switched to Quantum Fiber and they have treated me so well. read more

I would give no stars if that was an option. We've been with TDS(because of the area) for 8+ years. We're now going to switch to Verizon, since it is now an option. We have limited to no service after 5pm. We've added devices to expand the broadband and upgraded the router etc, and none of that has helped. We've also had a few technicians come out to help us, and they do not have an answer for why it shuts off after 5pm. We work from home and need a reliable company, this just sucks! We have talked to them in person, over the phone (we were on hold for hours each time) and each time they assured me the issue had been resolved and each month we have been charged. TDS deserves ZERO stars for their customer service! Please read all of the negative reviews below - they are all true. Use any company that is NOT TDS. Local agents have no clue o how their systems work. Not the old system, and definitely not the new system. The local office refuses to give customers a direct line to call their office. They do not call you back or keep their promises. Calling the main TDS customer support line will result in a minimum 2-3 hour hold time, transfers, and dropped calls. It almost seems intentional to avoid accountability. After 12 calls, I have never had a single TDS representative actually help me. And, they only answered my call once! I applied for service and agreed that I would pick up the equipment at the office. Stood in line for 45 minutes to get the equipment. Got the equipment home and hooked everything up and could not connect to the internet. I called the tech support and I was on the phone for an hour and a half with no success. So I was told they would charge me $50 to send a tech. I agreed and was told the tech would be out the same day (Friday) or the next day. No one ever showed up. So I called back Saturday afternoon after waiting all day and I was told the tech was scheduled for Tuesday. Another 1 hour and 45 minutes on the phone and being transferred at least 5 times and I still didn't have internet. While on the phone this time I was told a tech could come out Monday. Once again no one ever came. So I called and told them I would return the equipment and just wanted to cancel the tech and the service. Tuesday morning I get a text that a tech was coming. Then another text when the tech was on his way. Then a call from the tech that he was at my home. I told him I canceled the service. I returned the equipment the next day. The following month I received a bill for $49.13 for a partial month of service. I called and was transferred again 3 time. I finally got someone that could take care of the bill since I never had service. I was told it would take a couple of days but that bill would be taken care of. Here we are 1 month later and I received another bill. I called again, transferred 3 times and was told the same thing as the previous month. They will waive the bill but it could take a couple of days. This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Absolutely horrible. If I could give a zero star, I would. read more

Whoever the brainchild is who drives sales at TDS and would rather force a customer into a bundle with things they don't need or, better yet fiber, so they must drill holes into their homes that they don't need rather than just activating the co-ax boxes they already have, should run for a political office. They would literally rather have NO customer rather than give a customer only the services they need. TDS would be much healthier if they actually had customer service and gave a customer only what they want, they would have a lot more customers. I turned in equipment at a TDS store for (2) separate accounts in 2024. Was told each time that the related account was canceled at that point YET in Both cases, TDS continued to bill for services. TDS is a Total SCAM, especially when it comes to canceling their services. Doesn't Pro-rate. Hangs up on you??? I had service for 6 years with this company & having outages constantly was frustrating, but it was a great price for the first three years, then it just kept going up in price. I finally canceled on Sept 19, I actually asked to have it until the 21st & asked if they pro-rate, they said No they don't pro-rate, I said I'll cancel today then (20th was next auto payment). I asked if I owe anything & was told I didn't owe anything else & wouldn't be billed anything else & Thank you for being a customer. A couple days later I get an automated email stating I owed $55.20 . I figured their system didn't update yet. Then I get another automated email on Sept 25 that says "Your TDS statement, dated 09/23/2022, for your account, is now ready for viewing. The amount of $65.70 is due on 10/18/2022." Then today I get another automated email "Our records indicate that your account has been delinquent for 35 days. The amount delinquent is $55.20. Your payment amount due is $65.70. We would appreciate your prompt action to rectify this situation". I called & told them the situation, got passed around to 3 different people. Customer care girl said after talking to supervisors that I wouldn't be charged & that I won't receive any other bills & that she'd like to call back in 20 minutes to confirm that information. I get a call back & she says I owe the full amount even after two girls told me I owe nothing. I asked to talk to a supervisor as you & the other girl both lied to me about not having to pay anything, she said if you don't pay we will send you to collections. I said I'd like to talk to a supervisor now, I don't want to talk to you anymore. She Hung Up on me??? What a Horrible business to work with. The last week before my service ended I had no internet morning & night for 20 minutes to an hour. Very glitchy & lagged watching Netflix. read more

I signed up for auto pay when I started. Keep getting message I'm delinquent. When I go in it telling me I'm signed up. When I called they told me I was not. Now they have added fees but I'm still not sure it'll autopay. Don't want to wait over an hour again to talk to them. Would prefer to talk to local office but no phone # for them. Getting frustrated and about to change. They told me it was a $3 fee to pay over phone. read more

We were signed up for 300mbps for $49 per month. We only got 300mbps for about a month and then the average speed was around 75-90mbps. Not only that, but the price was raised randomly to $70 per month. I only signed up for TDS because XFinity is unavailable in St. George, so I'm not sure there is any better options, but I wish we had something better. read more

Horrible customer service at the office in Mesquite, Nevada, then Everytime I call customer service I'm on hold at least 30+ minutes, last time I was on hold for 1 hours. When I first got TDS I was paying $65 a month, every 4 months it keeps going up, now I'm paying $90 a month. Ridiculous and outrageous, they should at least let their customers know they will be increasing prices verses just sending out a bill with extra charges on it with itemization next to it. read more
