I never review anything, but this company is terrible. They canceled our service for days WITHOUT notice, and we were told there was nothing they could do until we scheduled to "upgrade," as they are going to quantum fiber. I wouldn't have minded had I been notified, or received ANY type of communication. Once we scheduled, they restored our service. Felt like they backed us into a corner, and gave us no other option. Internet in St. George can be very challenging. We recently had a street wide CL outage, and we were very fortunate that we got hold of the right people, because it was a very challenging fix. Not only did they get out and fix the cut cable within 24 hours, but they gave us their local numbers in case there were further problems. One of the Repairman actually helped us get all of our multiple items back online. He stayed until all of our smart items and both the garage door openers were back online. Absolutely the worst customer service ever waited over a month and a half to get connected to the Internet. Called to verify the appointment and had to add my Condo number which push my appointment back another three weeks. Century Link is the worst. I live in Washington Fields and there are CONSTANT outages in the whole area, sometimes for DAYS with internet only working for 20-30 minutes at a time. Working from home and my spouse currently going to school and needing to do homework, it is incredibly frustrating. I will be switching to TDS next month as I haven't heard of anyone having issues with it in my area. We've had CL for 2.5 years now and it has been nothing but unreliable. This time, internet hasn't been working since yesterday at about 3:00 p.m. (didn't work at all last night) and online it says it won't be "working" until tonight at 6:00 p.m. Don't waste your time with this company. Tried to set up a simple phone line for a 93 year old. You get a stateside representative who is really supportive and helpful when signing for service. Then your told it will take a week to activate the phone. After a week you have a phone which can receive calls. But, is unable to make calls. This is when you get to stay on hold for 2 house and transferred to a half dozen departments in some foreign country only to find they are going to take two weeks to respond. After several attempts and a lot of waisted time "chatting" on line with a computer I cancelled service and went to the competitor where I received next day service at a reduced monthly price. Horrible customer service. I have been on hold for over 4 hours throughout the day. Trying to fix my internet. Telling them that the issue needs a service tech to come out. They wouldn't send one. Instead they sent a router they said was the problem. When I got the router it was the wrong one and the internet still didn't work and now it's been three days without internet and I run my business for home. I have had the absolute WORST customer service experience with you company. All I need is a repair ticket created. I have called the 800 number 3 times. The first time I was on hold for 45 mins and gave up. The second time I was on hold for 24 mins and then got disconnected. The third time I have been on hold for 75 mins and still have not spoken to anyone. I am so glad the recording keeps thanking me for my patience and telling me that my call IS important to them. I tried the chat and the agent was absolutely ZERO help at all. They didn't burry the internet cable underground and I tripped over it and yanked it out of the disconnect. I was without service for 4 days. The tech left all his cut off wires and didn't pick them up. I feel they should pay me for the work I've done. Calling them is another story and there automated service you spend hours just to speak to someone. After waiting 40 minutes on phone and getting transferred to the wrong person then you have to start all over again. The customer service really sucks ass!!!!!!! Be careful on autopay, they took me from 33 to 81/ mo with no warning. Took 7 phone calls over 4 months to straighten it out. Had them for years, seems like every person I talk to now gives a different story and never follow through, as if they were new on the job and didnt know the system. Then the next guys lied about the notes on account. Beware. Also, if you need a credit or free service install (as promised by prev agent) you need to talk to RETENTION. I drove 2 hours to my home in St George to meet the Centurylink to get internet connected. I sat at the house for 5 hours waiting for the service man. He never came. I called and spent 3 hours on hold getting no resolution. Finally the last person I spoke with informed me that they needed a part and that it wouldn't be available until February. Oh well. I spent an entire day waiting and they didn't have the consideration to call and let me know they couldn't do it. I had internet only from TDS and switched to CenturyLink based on 2 year promotional pricing in a new subdivision with new fiber optic. TDS regular pricing is substantially less but the CenturyLink promo was better so I switched - a mistake. Both are fiber optic and fast. TDS was no problems at all - not with service - not with billing. It was great. It was faster than I needed and straight forward. Not so with CenturyLink. CenturyLink was more difficult to get set up. The technicians were great though. The billing was a pain. They overcharged and I had to hassle with them to get them to correct the billing. The service has been slightly less reliable than TDS but overall good. My biggest compaint about Century Link is their dishonesty. They advertised the price as $29.99 per month, but the actual charge $33.98. Instead of saving $10 per month I only saved $6. With the installation charges I will not make up for the installation fee until almost 2 years making it a wash. I called and asked about the charge and they had some name for it. When I asked why the fee was charged the explanation was - get ready for this - it was to "save me money." I asked how charging me more than the agreed upon amount was saving me money. Read three stars as 2.5. CenturyLink's GPON network is great when it works. My office has DNS outages once every three months for two hours at a time. I can never get ahold of my account exec in Salt Lake regardless of my network status. That knocks off one star. The other -1.5 stars have to do with billing. You have to watch your bills and read your contracts carefully. We were very specific about one contract being cancelled and another one being started at our office. Even with written confirmation from our account exec, they still billed us for two contracts. It's gotten so bad, that the assistant to the CEO of CenturyLink is now involved with our three year old billing issue. Even *she* has encountered problems with the billing reps. (One guy refused to give her his name. I'm sure that clown no longer has a job.) tl;dr: Service is great when it works. Read your bills every month, they will screw you if you don't pay attention. read more

While walking into the St George Costco the other day we decided to talk to the Century Link sales rep in hopes of canceling our current $81 a month service with TDS. The rep said that their current rate was $30 monthly and an additional $15 for their modem. So $45 a month was the written quote. The best part, however, was that it was a guaranteed LIFETIME PRICE LOCK. No chance of a price increase for life. We were like, heck yeah, let's do it. Ahhhh, not so fast. Upon the rep setting us up for an install, autopay and the first monthly charge of $45, she used my phone to call her verification office who spoke to me but was a bit evasive when I told her what the rep said and was not able to confirm the Lifetime Lock. Long short, the two of them went back and forth on the phone until the verification lady said that she would include that ' clause' in my confirmation Receipt. NOT!!! It wasn't true. Receipt showed clearly that there could be regular price increases. Therefore, I called Century Link and cancelled my install and, hopefully, get my money refunded. Be cautious folks. I guess now even Costco has some funky vendors. Makes Costco look bad too. Costco was notified as well. So I guess we'll just have to call TDS and renegotiate our bill. I hate being lied to just for a commission fee. Good Lord folks are dishonest. read more

They make it almost impossible to talk to someone, then when you get one of their international representatives, they are unable to do anything to help. I'm sad to say I've never had such an aweful experience with an internet provider. They want you to use their online chat service but don't seem to realize that doesn't work when your internet is down. read more

There service sucks. they left my cables to my Internet stretched out across my driveway for 8 months and it took 6 calls before coming to bury it. the people you talk to on the phone speak poor English and there is a huge communication barrier. I read the reviews before I decided to go with CenturyLink and they weren't good! But honestly I was desperate! The first day I couldn't set it up, so I called Customer service and that was what I was scared about because there was so many bad reviews. When I called they helped me connect to WiFi, helped me change my password, and helped me connect to Autopay. Their Customer service was very nice, helpful, and fast! I would love to give them less than 1 star. I am now able to view this company in my rearview mirror. 14 years of being tied to them for one reason or another. Bundle discount. Only internet in town. Poor landline choice in area, better than nothing. For a communication company they rate below the chart. They leave customers on HOLD for so long they forget what they called for or they become so angered at the wait if they weren't beside themselves, seething they are when they finally get a human being on the line. Count yourself lucky if it is answered by a USA domestic customer service representative. CenturyLink like AT&T has gotten too big. They outsource as much as they can. They have forgotten they are a customer driven company. We have been lost in the mix. The FCC should rein them in. Rates continue to go up. I have never been so disrespected as I have felt as a CenturyLink customer. I have been put on HOLD, DISCONNECTED, chat feature unsatisfactory, customer service reps that don't listen, emails that aren't answered, equipment overcharges, can't find contact phone or addresses...they work hard at hiding from their customers. Actually this should be minus stars. I thought this was a good company to do business with wow, was I ever wrong! They will give you a quote over the phone and so you sign up only to get your first bill which is 3 times more than the quote. This means they will LIE to you straight up. They do not refund or credit your bill when you've notice the over charge. The customer service is beyond horrible, which means they do not want to help you what so ever. Slowest speed ever and they leave you on hold for hours when you need some questions answered I have seen our internet go down for days at a time at least every other month and when it is up you can't do online gaming because your ping is in the two hundreds. we are paying for the fastest speed that they claim is 60mbps but I have speed tested multiple times and we get 12 at best shame on you century Link I feel like we need less monoply and more outside sources for our family web browsing needs read more

Century. worthless company. always changing information about my account. had to pay 200 dollars for cancel fee for a 2 year contract i agreed to in 2015. canceled in 2018. over the years they changed my account 4 different numbers. probably spent 8 or more hours on phone with customer service. never solving anything. my "fixed price" always changed always increasing. they would apologize then drop it. 2 months later it increased again. century is the hardest company to deal with. they have a big name and logo everywhere but they are not easy to work with. and speed they sold me was 40mbps. every time we checked it. it was about 11mbps. liars and thieves this company only robs customers. waste of time and money! will never support them and will convince everyone i meet to never use them. read more

How are these crooks still in business. We shut off their service to change to another at a better price and they continued to charge us for a service for 6 more months that we had shut off!! In addition, they arbitrarily "bundled" our internet (that we shut off) with our Direct TV bill which we did NOT want. Then they send the creditors after us for a service that we paid for and shut off legit. They put you on hold on the telephone for long periods of time ie: 45mins-1hr hoping you will give up or transfer you around and then drop your calls. Centurylink is the worst and tied for last place with charter, they will constantly keep raising your bill, it seemed like someone was constantly messing with the wires on the street and when we needed it the most, the internet went down, their infrastructure going into your home is only two wires, but they seem to constantly screw it up. when you finally get fed up with centuryjunk, they will tell you that you will be back, not me, and we now have better quality everything, including broadcast tv with hd quality antenna in the attic and nice tivo box, we also have sling tv, and net flix, in the end our complete bill is 130.00 dollars a month cheaper and running 4 tvs a landline and way better tv programming, and internet connection is super fast, we now have infowest. read more

Pro -- High Speed Fiberoptic. 4 devices streaming at a time with NO lag. Con -- Incompetent Staff -- Where should I start with my Nightmare!!! Technician only set up internet and not the phone. Because they had to come back and set up the phone, they charged me for them to come back out! I was quoted one price, billed another. After calling every month for 6 months, they finally got that headache fixed. They provided the router. It would work for about 30 minutes and then would be down for a couple of hours. After about 3 months of being very angry with them, they replaced it and the internet magically worked great. Upon moving out-of-state, I needed to cancel my services. I received a bill of $102.85. After I paid it, they said that I still owed $0.82. I couldn't pay it online, as my account is closed. However, writing a check for this amount is absurd, so I called them. The first rep was confused about why I was billed this amount, he was seeing a refund due. After being transferred 4 times, being told, "my department can't do. . . I am going to transfer you a different department. . . I talked to my supervisor and they said I need to transfer you. . .", I still haven't been able to figure out if I owe them or if they owe me. read more

I have been desperately trying to get internet in a new house with my roommates, and they have showed us the worst customer service ever. We call and they seem like they aren't sure how to help us get internet, which is the one thing they are suppose to be able to do. We have been put on hold and hung up on multiple times and it's ridiculous. This is the worst internet service I have ever had. I do not have time to write reviews as I am a busy attorney, but this service is so terrible I have to warn others not to get it. Since it began, the Tuesday before a thanksgiving, it is virtually unusable. I work from home and it is impossible to do any work. I have called them at least 5 times but the best advice they have is to unplug the modem and plug it back in (they call it power cycling). I will cancel soon and get something else.
