My husband and I tried the newly opened TC Stacks for brunch today. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, including the murals, the menu and the service. The only thing missing from our perspective were espresso drinks; however, those will be offered soon.

Very surprised and happy to have this restaurant in sandpoint. The chef brought over a complementary cinnamon roll that was amazing. Ordered the grilled chicken club and it looked like 2 sandwiches not one. Fries are perfect too. 10 stars

It has since become a semi regular place for us when we're looking for breakfast or lunch of the sort that ends up being just about the only meal we'll eat that day. I can't recommend it from experience, but Green Eggs & Ham is what really put Hoot Owl on the map. But for my money, it doesn't get much better than their Ranch Burger. Breakfast or lunch, that's my go to along with an endless cup of coffee and tall glass of ice water. Whoever decided to mix ranch dressing and barbecue sauce deserves and Nobel effing Peace Prize. My wife has tried a number of their omelette and scramble offerings and never been disappointed. And then there's the cinnamon rolls. Brace yourself because it's literally the size of your face. Dripping in frosting and served with roughly half a cube of whipped butter, the cinnamon roll is an event unto itself, and definitely a prime item for sharing with the table. The atmosphere is very cozy and...Rural. It feels like something out of a period film; very down to earth and eclectic with lots of owl knickknacks all over the place. If you've a bad back or bad posture, I'd recommend a table over a booth as the booths are a little short in the seat and very straight backed. Parking is usually not bad, even when they're busy (which is often), but it's in a dirt lot that shares its real estate with a drive through coffee shack. Lots of potholes at the entrance, so depending upon your vehicle, get ready to slalom a bit. The restaurant offers free WiFi to guests and is relatively kid friendly with plenty of high chairs, decks of cards at the table, etc. Service has always been friendly and expedient. They recently started tacking on a 3% surcharge for card transactions, but if you pay cash you get a discount...Of 3%. Heh. Anyway, if you're in the area and you want a big meal at a decent price, this place is fantastic. Forgot to mention prices, but a half pound specialty burger with fries ranges $13-$16, and similar pricing on other entree menu items. Get you some.

It is a cute, quaint place. Being an older building and a restaurant that has run for many years, there are some things that have fallen through the cracks, like neglecting to clean the windowsill of dead flies. Not the most pleasant site right next to our booth. Service was friendly and quick. We had our food in no time. I got the Eggs Benedict and my husband got the Chicken Fried Steak. Food was mediocre and the portions were unnecessarily huge.

In…read morefact, we met with the previous owners of our home over breakfast at Connie's to discuss the purchase of what is now our house and ten acre lot in Bonners Ferry. That aside, Connie's has become something of a standby for us, particularly in the summer months when we frequent the nearby City Beach. The atmosphere is reminiscent of vintage Denny's and Lyon's restaurants (when I was growing up, my family either owned or managed both, so this place feels like home when I'm there). Like the Hoot Owl, my favorite menu item is their Ranch Burger, which mixes barbecue sauce with a red wine vinaigrette (as opposed to ranch dressing at Hoot Owl), and served on a toasted sourdough roll. Their bacon is very thick and very crispy, with a dash of black pepper around the edges for added flair. Prices are reasonable to what you would expect and portion sizes are generous, with lots of steak fries or hash browns or whatever your pleasure. I'm not big on breakfast, but fortunately they seem to serve lunch all day. Service has always been very friendly and efficient, although if you go on weekends (particularly Sundays), they can be obscenely busy and once or twice this has meant longer waits for seating and service. They're very kid friendly, and have been very accommodating when our son occasionally picnics his McDonald's Happy Meal to the table. Parking can be a little tricky out on the street, but they're very well situated on the corner on Cedar Street, adjacent to and actually connected to part of the eponymous Cedar Street Hotel, and there's plenty of parking on adjacent streets and lots with a short and relatively pleasant walk to the premises. I'm usually reliant on cellular data for any internet needs while I'm there, but chances are you're there for the food more so than lightning fast upload/download speeds so head on over and enjoy your meal!

We waited 6 minutes to be seated while 2 waitresses were at the cash register trying to figure something out. Once seated after another 5 minutes of being ignored, the busser brought us coffee and apologized. Another 10 minutes went by before we saw a waitress to take our order. 30 minutes later we finally got our food which was barely warm. We got a refill of our coffee 15 minutes before our meal and nothing after that. Today we went for breakfast. We were seated immediately and our waitress never showed up nor did we get our coffee for 9 minutes. She took our order right after. It took 20 minute after our simple order was taken before we received it, and once again no refill of coffee. I know Lost in the 50's is 2 weeks away, and if service remains like it's been, you'll have a bunch of upset customers.

I was able to snag a bite of both and they were both delicious. The turkey bacon club had a great sauce that gave it moisture, and the bread was still nice and soft. As for the tomato bisque, it was delicious! It was perfectly balanced and had a great texture. As for my potato, it wasn't as successful. It was swimming in butter and not in a good way. There was butter ladled on the plate, which would have been fine by itself but it seemed like my potatoes inside was dunked in butter as well. It was just too much. As for the cheese, it never melted and there was not enough of it. It seemed as though the cheese came out of the bag which normally has a stabilizer that prevents it from melting. That may be the case here or it just never got hot enough. Next time I will get the sandwich and soup combo. What was interesting about this resturant is you order at the counter and pay before you receive your food. What I loved was it was self-serve water. You had a choice between lemon water, cucumber water, or regular water. As for the restaurant, it was very clean and we sat outside on the back deck. The water was a little low but still a beautiful view.

Ever since, moving here to 'The Panhandle', we've enjoyed stopping by, for what's always, an excellent meal - And this time they didn't fail [breakfast, today]. The food is always fresh - nicely prepared - generous proportions [either breakfast or lunch] - tasty... Simply, put GOOD fare. The Staff is always pleasant - nice - accommodating - AND attentive. Today's fare [for me] over easy eggs, 'lil pigs, country-fries, and sourdough [dark]. My Wife's choice traditional eggs-benedict, with country-fries - And as always excellent. All topped off with ice water and good coffee. One thing we noticed [from our last visit], is they've added afew more tables, increasing their seating capacity. The Restaurant and bathrooms is always neat - clean - ordered... In times coming here, either with friends [in from outta-towne], or Family, we've never been disappointed with "The View". UNDERSTANDING, is we've learned, on Sunday's it will nearly always, always be busy [as with so many places, here in No. Idaho], and also during the 'tourist-season', it can get abit hectic here, too. And 'occasionally', we've had to wait abit, for a table during these times - But, no biggy in my book... It is worth the wait. - Thank you "The View", for another nice meal. Ed & Diane
