Make sure to tell them the temperature you want your burger cooked. They don't ask and serve it bloody rare. Serious attitude issues with the staff, borderline rude. Nice concept and presentation was decent. Staff needs to work for their tip, don't automatically give them one when ordering food. Hopefully, whoever is cooking can sample their Verde sauce next time they make it, before they serve it to customers. Won't be next time for me though . Also, bathrooms are dirty. The person before me did not flush, the floor was splattered with urine, toilet was stained with feces, and toilet paper was holder was empty. I had to clean the bathroom top to bottom before using it. I suggest they check the bathrooms more frequently. A clean bathroom, and friendly staff would have made it a more pleasant experience. This was our first time at Spuds. I've been wanting to go here for a while. It's a cute little place with great service. My husband ordered the turkey bacon club, and tomato bisque soup. I was able to snag a bite of both and they were both delicious. The turkey bacon club had a great sauce that gave it moisture, and the bread was still nice and soft. As for the tomato bisque, it was delicious! It was perfectly balanced and had a great texture. As for my potato, it wasn't as successful. It was swimming in butter and not in a good way. There was butter ladled on the plate, which would have been fine by itself but it seemed like my potatoes inside was dunked in butter as well. It was just too much. As for the cheese, it never melted and there was not enough of it. It seemed as though the cheese came out of the bag which normally has a stabilizer that prevents it from melting. That may be the case here or it just never got hot enough. Next time I will get the sandwich and soup combo. What was interesting about this resturant is you order at the counter and pay before you receive your food. What I loved was it was self-serve water. You had a choice between lemon water, cucumber water, or regular water. As for the restaurant, it was very clean and we sat outside on the back deck. If your name is Spuds than you better be pretty dang good at making potatoes. We met friends there and we all ordered potatoes..... they all came out COLD! None of our cheese was melted and the toppings were also cold and they should have been hot. Needless to say we were disappointed. read more

Spuds is a classic Sandpoint establishment! I got a BLT and some soup. Often, at restaurants, the soup is not super hot, but Spuds nailed it, delivering a steamy cup of tomato soup. The BLT was excellent as well. Service was fast. Ambience is a little dated but it does not detract from the amazing food in the least. A great spot when you're in Sandpoint. read more

This was a really good sandwich place. I'm sure they are good for other things, but that's what we had. The cider I had and light beer my wife had were great. The turkey on my sandwich could have been a bit more moist, but overall it was a good taste. Fries were not exceptional but good. If the weather is good , you should sit on the patio over looking the small tendril from the lake. It's a nice view. Not great, but nice. It was beautiful day when we ate there. The staff is great. We came when it was about to close, but we never once felt hurried or rushed. They were all very professional and kind. We'll be back when the hours are longer to enjoy some more good food, service and a nice view. read more

So sad this place used to be worth the drive from cda, but they let seasonal employees with terrible attitudes set the tone for your dining experience and this is our second time encountering this there. Last time we ate there someone had a puppy on their patio, so we decided to bring our little dog this time, the nasty girl at the front delighted in telling us we can't eat there with our dog and tried to make us feel stupid by pointing to a sign that said service animals only, it's our mistake for not calling ahead and asking, but that behavior and attitude is completely uncalled for. read more

I ordered a goat salad and a chile verde spud The chile verde was so spicy I could not even eat it my husband thought it was too spicy as well. When I went to the front to tell it was too spicy and ask if I could exchange for something else ( a cup of soup) they gave me the eye roll and refused, super bad attitude. So I FINALLY got to eat here. Catching them open when you work a "typical" job is difficult at best unless you work right downtown Sandpoint and can slip in on your lunch. If you are able to visit, you shouldn't be disappointed. I was greeted by the owner upon my arrival and he patiently answered questions while I tried to make up my mind. They have a small selection of beer on tap and some bottled. I was impressed with the water station that offered not only iced plain but lemon or cucumber for that little extra freshness. I settled on a half sandwich and cup of soup but since I was hungry and this place IS called "Spuds" I opted to add a baked potato too...and yes, I did in fact eat it all. The sandwich was hearty and thick cut turkey as was the bacon. The bread he has made locally with his own recipe and was fresh and fluffy even being the end of the day. The tomato bisque was a great accompaniment and warmed me up. There were several soups to choose from. I'm glad I got the potato as it really hit the spot. It came loaded with 2 types of cheese, bacon, and sour cream all drizzled with clarified butter. If you'd like to control your amounts of toppings I suggest asking for it on the side. I love me some sour cream but it was a tad much. I'm very much looking forward to returning again and trying other things. I really wanted to like this place. First, the service wasn't great. We had to wait fifteen minutes just to get some water and coffee. We had waited into the lunch hour so we asked to see a lunch menu and were denied only to watch the table next to us receive a lunch menu not even 2 minutes after we asked. We were never given refills on our drinks, never was checked on, and was overlooked among the other guests. We decided that we were just going to find another restaurant since the service wasn't great and we had waited too long. We then asked if they could just cancel our order. We were told that the food was actually done and we had to just take it to go. So we waited for it and as we were watching our server pack it up, we watched as they used their HANDS to package our food. We were disgusted to say the least and will not be returning. With COVID seating arrangements, this made the task even more difficult. We ended up sitting inside but even there seating is pretty limited right now, so we felt fortunate to get a table for our party of four. Food is brought to the table and currently delivered on a paper plate which is totally understandable given our current circumstances. I was a little disappointed that the sandwich is al a carte, meaning no chips come with the $10 sandwich. Chips are however available for purchase. All four sandwiches were excellent. The hoagie loaf was fresh, condiment spreads yummy, and all meat was cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this place, but best if during a slower period of the day or week. read more

I visited Spud's during an impromptu roadtrip to Canada. I really just wanted somewhere to eat a light lunch and enjoy the beauty that Northern Idaho has to offer. I was seated right by the water on the back deck of the restaurant. I had a gorgeous view, complete with the sun shining, blue skies and several watercraft in the lake. I decided to order the Yakisoba salad. I'm very Plain Jane when it comes to my salad but felt like branching out. What a great idea! The salad was fresh and piled with grilled chicken (seasoned well), romaine, cabbage, shredded carrots, green onions, cucumbers, fresh herbs, sesame seeds, toasted nus, Yakisoba noodles and their special Asian Vinaigrette! If you want an interesting salad I highly recommend this! I know it sounds like a whole plate full, it is, but all the ingredients definitely mesh together well. Each bite is a little different but it's easy to even it out. Wonderful experience altogether. read more

Lovely service, even for a vegan, they made a hodge podge of vegan items to put on the spud, added guacamole for the 'sauce.'
