    the menu of the restaurant

Chimney Rock is a lovely restaurant in the Selkirk Lodge. It has a nice menu with Pub fare and entrees plus soup & salads. We were seated right away and enjoyed our drinks while waiting our entrees. We had an excellent server, who answered all our questions and made good recommendations. The food was delicious and we were able to get to go boxes for the leftovers, most of us belonged to the clean plate club. We passed on dessert. The only issue, we had was that we had to wait 45 mins to get our check. The server was very busy and there was some issue with register. It sort of soured the experience for some members of our group. i'll be back there are a few items to left to taste.

The salmon cake appetizer was generous and great (I asked for extra aoli though!) but my entree of creamy chicken and rice was flavorless. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My husband's steak was a little undercooked but he made it work. I'd go back but might stick to ordering something less complicated... like a burger or chicken sandwich. Something harder to mess up!

We had 3 meals here in early February so I have a good idea of the quality and service at the restaurant. We also had the buffet breakfast every day that was included with our room. The bartenders are all very friendly. Sit at the bar and strike up a conversation. They take pride in their drinks and I saw and tasted several good concoctions. Between a friend and I we had the prime rib, NY strip, fish special, venison pot pie and the salmon. It was all very good. The table service was average. The attention to detail on the food preparation was excellent and the food quality varied. Let me explain... The NY Strip was prepared wonderfully. The piece of meat, while very thick, had a lot of chewy parts in there tough to get through. I ordered it medium rare. Maybe I just had a bad cut, it looked like a winner otherwise. $28 The prime rib did not have flavor that blew me away, but it was also very well prepared. Sometimes prime rib tastes incredible. Sometimes it just tastes like meat. The fish specials (both dinner and a sashimi appetizer) were excellent! They take pride in getting FRESH SEAFOOD Fedex'd in to them a couple times a week and it was all very good. So, if they have a fish special, definitely ask about it and if it came in that day it's clearly worth a shot. I think there was Mako, Nalu and something else in fresh...one thing each day we were there. I normally stay away from seafood this far from the ocean, but they had it dialed in. The salmon, which is a regular item, was just okay. Not bad, but not a real tender flavorful cut. The other items were good as well. We also met the woman who manages it and seemed to have a lot of pride in the place. She didn't tell us who she was, but after she left the bartender let us know. I think some of the bad luck people may have had here in the past was due to chefs who no loner work here. So, you are going to pay a premium because it is the only "fine dining" restaurant at the resort. However it is not a fine dining restaurant, but it is a very good restaurant. Much better than average and if you ask good questions before ordering you shouldn't be disappointed. The "free breakfast" that came with my room is just okay, but I guess that is to be expected on a buffet. There is nothing interesting up there, but there is a lot of variety. The Tully's coffee they serve is excellent.

If you couldn't tell, this is raw chicken.

This place serves raw chicken. Please do not order the chicken here. My beef was very well done even though I ordered it medium-rare.

Good food and reasonable prices for a mountain restaurant. Staff was friendly when we were there.

Definitely underrated from our perspective. Try it. Both chicken and pork were spot on. Service good and very friendly.

What we got was freezer burnt ice cream, a couple small Boston creme donut things from Safeway or a similar grocery store, more whipped cream and chocolate sauce, and another grocery store lemon pie slice with whip cream and more chocolate sauce. There was chocolate sauce on my debit card that was given to me. Overall the food was great ! Just avoid the dessert. That was not worth $20.. everything was freezer burnt and that was not the desserts on the picture nor was there a description of it being available desserts. So, my wife and I thought we'd give it a try. So glad we did! We sat at the bar, even though there was plenty of seating, and were addressed by the server promptly. We ordered a chicken sandwich to share and the soup flight. The sandwich was great and the soups were really great! All three of them. I had a really good huckleberry cider and my wife a citric IPA. We both like our drink. As a bonus, they have several TV's to watch sports games on. They have a small patio for the warm days. We will be back for sure to enjoy good food, service and a fun time.

In…read morefact, we met with the previous owners of our home over breakfast at Connie's to discuss the purchase of what is now our house and ten acre lot in Bonners Ferry. That aside, Connie's has become something of a standby for us, particularly in the summer months when we frequent the nearby City Beach. The atmosphere is reminiscent of vintage Denny's and Lyon's restaurants (when I was growing up, my family either owned or managed both, so this place feels like home when I'm there). Like the Hoot Owl, my favorite menu item is their Ranch Burger, which mixes barbecue sauce with a red wine vinaigrette (as opposed to ranch dressing at Hoot Owl), and served on a toasted sourdough roll. Their bacon is very thick and very crispy, with a dash of black pepper around the edges for added flair. Prices are reasonable to what you would expect and portion sizes are generous, with lots of steak fries or hash browns or whatever your pleasure. I'm not big on breakfast, but fortunately they seem to serve lunch all day. Service has always been very friendly and efficient, although if you go on weekends (particularly Sundays), they can be obscenely busy and once or twice this has meant longer waits for seating and service. They're very kid friendly, and have been very accommodating when our son occasionally picnics his McDonald's Happy Meal to the table. Parking can be a little tricky out on the street, but they're very well situated on the corner on Cedar Street, adjacent to and actually connected to part of the eponymous Cedar Street Hotel, and there's plenty of parking on adjacent streets and lots with a short and relatively pleasant walk to the premises. I'm usually reliant on cellular data for any internet needs while I'm there, but chances are you're there for the food more so than lightning fast upload/download speeds so head on over and enjoy your meal!

We waited 6 minutes to be seated while 2 waitresses were at the cash register trying to figure something out. Once seated after another 5 minutes of being ignored, the busser brought us coffee and apologized. Another 10 minutes went by before we saw a waitress to take our order. 30 minutes later we finally got our food which was barely warm. We got a refill of our coffee 15 minutes before our meal and nothing after that. Today we went for breakfast. We were seated immediately and our waitress never showed up nor did we get our coffee for 9 minutes. She took our order right after. It took 20 minute after our simple order was taken before we received it, and once again no refill of coffee. I know Lost in the 50's is 2 weeks away, and if service remains like it's been, you'll have a bunch of upset customers.
