Ate at Ardy's Saturday evening after a day trip to Priest Lake. It was too late to find an open restaurant in Priest River so Ardy's at Coolin was perfectly situated. Food was reasonably priced and very good. My wife who has gluten issues was able to get a delicious salmon dinner. They had a senior burger and fries for only $10. That even beats Applebee's best deal. Only improvement I could suggest is giving the customer an itemized receipt as they only give you a credit card receipt showing only the total. I ended up taking a photo of the itemized receipt that they kept. Will gladly eat there again! read more

Terrible service. Food gave us heartburn. We stopped here on the way to Priest Lake, thinking it would be a quick lunch. We were very wrong. The server asked us to take any seat outside, since we had our dog with us. He then forgot we were there. He didn't come out to take orders until we'd asked a different server for menus. Almost 45 minutes after giving our order - with no food in sight - I went inside to ask where the food was. They hadn't even started it yet. The server said they were very busy. I glanced to my right, where half the tables sat empty, and looked back at him. He fumbled for an excuse. I noted that the kitchen staff stayed out of sight at this time... About 15 minutes after that, our food arrived. Almost an hour to cook 2 sandwiches in a half-full restaurant. The server apologized for the wait, and then dashed away. I noticed that another couple, who had arrived about 20 minutes after us, got their food maybe 2 minutes later. What the hell is the kitchen staff doing? The food tasted okay, but both of us began to feel heartburn within 30 minutes. The server reappeared with the check (while we had food in our mouths) and dashed away again. Beyond an apology he made zero attempt to improve service. I went inside to pay. Our server RAN INTO THE BACK immediately, making the other server settle the tab. She apologized for the situation, even though she had no part of it (and appeared to do a great job with her customers). I told her the truth - it was not her fault, and I did not want her to feel responsible. Don't go here until they improve. Either they don't train people well, the kitchen staff doesn't give a cr*p about the food, or both. read more

Was looking for a nice place to stop for lunch while sightseeing, when we found Ardys. Upon entering, it was welcoming, laid back, and not jammed with people like most tourist sites. We went at 11:30 on a Tuesday morning. Extremely friendly staff, clean cafe with seating inside, out front or out back on the patios. Restrooms were clean well kept and a cute gift shop. We ordered the chili size and the pot stickers, both were really good. Best pot stickers I've had, and better half gave his meal a thumbs up. Although, we was kind of over the main meal the second he saw someone order the ice cream. If for no other reason, it's a must visit for the huckleberry ice cream cone. Beware though it's not for the fainthearted, it looked to be about 3 cups of delicious berry flavored soft serve in a giant waffle cone. Absolute heaven! read more

Ardy's Cafe is a great place near Priest Lake. We wanted to come here for breakfast initially, but instead decided to come for dinner. Camped nearby at the state park, and it was a nice non-camp meal in the middle of the trip. First of all, it's a nice place. Lots of outdoorsy decorations, wood carvings, bears, etc. around the inside. Quite a few beer choices for $2.50 or $3.00. Around there somewhere. Side salads were big and cheap with a main food purchase. We ended up sharing a pizza, half cheese, half meat. They did NOT skimp on the meat. Tons of Canadian bacon and sausage, which was great. Our waiter was also super nice. Overall we will for sure come back if in the area! read more

Excellent Breakfast spot. Fair price for a HUGE serving of food. Although we don't get up there as often as we would like, we do go just about everyday while there. I cannot comment on lunch and dinners, but the menu looks diverse and tasty. Lots of seating and service is world-class and when your done, go look through the gift shop. The food was amazing! The portions were huge. We went there three days in a row; it was really that good. Our waitress was very sweet and welcoming. On a very busy morning, the service was a little slower than usual due to training and the tall gentleman, that appeared to be the owner or manager, picked up our check. Had dinner there and three out of four orders were wrong. 1st. Ordered a veggie pizza and it had pepperoni on it. Never got the pizza in time to eat in the restaurant. Had to take it home after everyone was done with their meal. Second, ordered a Veggie omelette. Came with olives and it was not a veggie omelet. Third, ordered a Cheese burger with Swiss cheese. If you want amazing American style food and amazing service this is always great place to go. They have Pad Thai on thursdays and Thai specials on fridays for dinner and it is seriously so amazing. Right away upon entering this place, I noticed it is an eye opener. The exterior looks like most small town diners. The inside is beautifully remodeled with many unique details! So be sure to check this place out...it's not what it appears to be... Grilled salmon was not grilled it was poached to the point of being tough. No salt or seasoning whatsoever. I fed most of the salmon to my huskies, who were pretty excited nonetheless. Served with CANNED green beans (which I haven't been fed since I was 8 so I left them untouched). Baked potato was bland, they forgot the soup. It finally came after my meal and was a premade canned variety of vegetable with noodles. Barely edible. On the plus side, my kids deep fried entrees (because they don't have a single healthy option for kids) of fish and chips and chicken strips were pretty decent. Fries especially were delicious. Seems like they are proficient with a deep fryer and nothing else. However, the service was extremely polite initially. He never checked on us once after the food came out... but I wasn't too offended with all the staffing shortages happening in the area. Plus I did ask for salt, which apparently was greatly offensive based off his tone and the look on his face. I'm not sure why? He didn't make the food. We will skip this place next time we are in the area. read more

This is the best casual dining as the Lake gets. Been eating there for the last 14 years and they have never served me anything but great food, great service and owners are always the top of the line, they are friendly, helpful and just all around good people. There were 9 of us that showed up for breakfast and they accomodated us with no complaints. Everyone thought the food was fantastic.
