Not very happy with our experience here…read more We needed a storage unit for 3 weeks to store boxes & misc. furniture while we prepared to move. This was the only company in the area that had a large enough unit available, so we had no other option but to rent thru them. The unit was clean and everything seemed peachy until we started moving our things back out. The furniture we had stored had become stained from water leaking from the roof, there were mouse droppings on everything and some boxes also had roaches. It was even worse once we started unpacking because every item of fabric / clothing that had been clean when originally packed had to be re-washed & sanitized due to the godawful mouse smell that had permeated the fabric. I realize it is a temporary storage situation, but short of a natural disaster I expect my belongings to remain in the condition they were stored in. For the amount they charge and the number of customers I presume they have, the expectation of pest control & a watertight structure is not unreasonable. I have had numerous storage units in the past decade & NEVER encountered any of these issues.

Of course after trying to file a claim on the insurance Ive been paying for there is always a clause that screws you! This facility cares nothing about your things! They were told multiple times about the issues and never addressed it. There lack of empathy breaks my heart! Stay away from this storage facility if you value your belongings. Don't store your stuff here. We've been using this CubeSmart for about 2.5 years, and it started…read moreout great! It seemed clean and good. We did notice they had a bit of a rodent problem, but we were understanding about it. I'm not grossed out by stuff like that easily. We pay for a climate controlled unit, and the hallways were kept clean at first. Occasionally we'd notice a little rat poop or chew marks among our stuff. Annoying but understandable in such a huge place. But as of now, it is out of control. The entire place smells like dead carcasses. There is mouse and rat poop sprinkled in the hallways. As I wrote this there's a dead mouse in the hall. We've found dead mice in one of our units and I'm sure there's more. Late at night while I've been organizing our stuff, I can hear rats screeching and then can see them running from unit to unit via the rafter things on the ceilings. In our smaller outdoor unit, I once found an imprint of a dead mouse on the floor, but another rodent had come along and eaten the body. All that was left was a wet mouse outline on the concrete and some fur. I could go on and on about all the disturbing dead rodent things we've seen here this year. It's gotten exponentially worse as time goes on. The amount of our things that have been damaged is disappointing, and we can barely go into the building due to the smell. There are others with units in the same building that have described their heirlooms and furniture getting chewed up and peed/pooped on by the rodents. The way the management been handling their rodent problem is insane to me- they use rat poison. Not only is this a super cruel way to kill an animal, it makes it to where the animal just goes into people's units and dies wherever it chooses. Traps would be better- a swift death for the animal, AND you know where the bodies will be so you can clean it up. Honestly they need to shut this place down and start over. At this point, since these are all privately rented units, there's no way to fix this. They need to start over with a different plan. We're desperate to get out of here into a different place, but feel sick from the smell each time we come in. I've had to give up several times when I try to come pack our stuff up.
