When I relocated to Scottsdale area, I was looking for a non-chain experience in checking my vision as well as somewhere with a great high quality selection of eye wear. My first visit to Tatum Eyewear was in 2017 after researching reviews and coverage of my insurance. From the Front Desk, OD -Dr. Fuller, and Support team you can expect professional staff and great conversation. I came back Aug 17, 2020, for another checkup and some updated ear wear options. Once again, such a great experience from the beginning to the end. The health practices during this COVID duration were seen and demonstrated throughout my experience today. One person that really stands out for me is their Optician Monika W. Monika helped me pick out my first set of glasses in 2017, and what a blast of humor, honesty and looking out for the best in each customer experience. She left a lasting experience on me in our first experience and was lucky to have her guidance in my second visit to Tatum Eyecare. She is patient throughout the selection process and does a great job with keeping touched product separated due to COVID times. I ended up picking two pair of new glasses, just cause they both were a good match. Tatum is a great one stop shop for eye care and eye wear. Thank God for Dr. O'Daniel! My prior Optometrist overprescribed my vision to the point that wearing my glasses made me sick. Dr O'Daniel listened to me and made sure to conduct a thorough exam until I felt comfortable enough with the new prescription. We have been going here for several years. Everything has an up charge. They don't dilate your eyes but they use a machine to see inside and that's an up charge. If you want to take your prescription with you, there's a fee. If you order through them, the prices are higher. I told them I was going to get my contacts through Costco and they told me they would give me Costco prices, I paid nearly $400 for contacts. Next year I went to Costco and the same 4 boxes were $100. I got glasses through Costco and in order for Tatum Eye Care to release that prescription, there's a fee. I got quoted $350 after insurance for glasses at Tatum eye care. Went to Costco and found the same ones for $50 after insurance. Every year it seems their prices get higher and if you question the prices the front office has no idea and gives no explanation. If you don't pay, they won't release prescriptions. Tatum eye care also told me that my insurance only covers either glasses or contacts for the year. Went to Costco, they told me no I can get both contacts and eyeglasses every year. read more

I am a chef and I work in the kitchen several hours a day I have always had the glareproof film put on my glasses at the direction of the sales people in past optical stores it is always been a problem for me as they are constantly smudged when I discussed it with this office they were upfront and honest and told me that it is not recommended for people who work in the kitchen and it always causes a problem this is the first office that was straightforward instead of just trying to sell me something I'm very pleased with them read more

I had a wonderful experience at Tatum Eyecare! The scheduler was very pleasant, efficient, and was able to find a time to fit my schedule. When I arrived, Natalie checked me in and performed the initial testing. She was also very nice. The office is very comfortable and beautiful. Dr. Fuller performed the exam and I really enjoyed talking to him. There is quite a disparity between my left and right eyes and he was able to help figure out what type of lenses I needed to balance my vision for both far distances for driving and close up for reading. He had a great personality and made the exam fun. I met with Crystal afterwards who helped me pick out the two frames I needed and roll it in to a package to help save money on the cost. She was very sweet, too. I am still waiting for the glasses to come in, but I anticipate as good an experience with the fitting as I did with the testing and exam. Told me to reschedule and the next Available date was the 29th of June. Friendly staff and reasonable prices for glasses. The doctor has been in the field for a long time and really knows his stuff! **UPDATE** The lady who helped pick out frames for my sunglasses evidently doesn't know what she is doing...got the glasses ordered, tried them on, and immediately knew they didn't fit right. I tried explaining it to the associate but she insisted it would just take me a few days to get used to it. So I left with the glasses, tried wearing them but always ended up getting a headache. Went back about a week later, and a different associate immediately knew that I shouldn't have been allowed to order those frames with my prescription. So now I had to pick out another pair, and wait another couple weeks for these glasses. They should definitely train their staff better on these things and actually listen when someone says they don't fit right. **2nd Update** Owner called me today to let me know the new glasses were available, apologized and covered the extra cost of the more expensive frames. The eye exam I had at Tatum Eyecare gave me a correct prescription, so the glasses I got were greatly improved over the discount name place that previously gave me the wrong lenses. Staff at Tatum Eyecare is fabulous and helped me to work out a great price since I don't have insurance. They've been wonderful to work with and have helped me beyond the norm with follow-up questions and getting my lenses replaced under warranty. They're never annoyed to see me walk in again and actually look HAPPY. They've been nothing but helpful and are very friendly! I can't say enough good about Tatum Eyecare. Dr. Wong was the ONLY good thing about my visit. I wasn't given an itemized bill when I checked out because she was "having trouble with her computer." I ordered single vision computer glasses and when I picked them up they didn't use my VSP benefit but their own program?? Which I was never even asked about, much less approved. So, I basically lost $53 out of my pocket. I asked for my contact lens prescription so I could order them online and when I got home I realized she gave me the wrong prescription? So once I left the doctors office it all went downhill. With all the eye doctors in the valley, I will NEVER return. read more

My family has been going to Dr. Fuller for probably 7+ years. It's been very hard to find a good Optometrist with a good staff. We used to switch every few years cause the doctor was always good but no personality and the staff was off and on. Meaning sometimes good other times they couldn't even fix our glasses Dr. Fuller is very nice, like to joke around with us and knows our family. Always asking us how our family is. It's not just business which helps bring some personality to the doctor. Also, he will spend the time to explain anything with our eyes. His staff seems to turn over every few years but he seems to always hire people who are very friendly, helpful, and smile. I have never had any problem with Dr. Fuller or his staff. If you are looking for a really good Optometrist then give him a try. Also, it doesn't hurt that his office is close by our house. read more

I generally I like my experience with the doctors here but after my last appointment it will definitely be my last. Because of the office staff. I received an email that it was time for my annual exam. I called and made an appointment. I showed up on the wrong day they still go my in. However, at the end of my appointment I was told my check up would not be cover because I wasn't due for a check up until next month. I wish the scheduler would've told me I'm not due until next month instead of making an appointment. Stuff like that is annoying. My chart passed though 3 people and no one saw I wasn't due it.
