I am writing this update in response to Hannah's response, in which she now calls me "entitled", "condescending" and "abusive" and claims that I demanded she do additional drawing for free. Also, like with other former clients, she now accuses me of needing "psychiatric help" and "meds." If you are considering hiring Hannah Wolf, ask yourself whether it is appropriate to personally attack and insult your own clients like this. Ask yourself whether the unhinged demeanor she displays in her ranting responses is something you want to deal with, since it seems to be a trend with her. In fact, you don't even need to read my review. Simply read Hannah's own responses to her many other 1-star reviews and ask if this is the type of person you want to work with. I attached my email that prompted her to fire me as a client and still keep my deposit. I will let readers judge for themselves whether I was being rude and demanding. You can plainly see that Hannah is lying when she claims that I was asking for something for free and demanding that she redraw the tattoo. I clearly said in the email that I was happy to compensate her for additional drawing time, and at no point did I make a single demand. If she is willing to so obviously lie about this, how much can you trust anything she says? Her claims that I treated her rudely, condescendingly or angrily are grossly embellished and dishonest. By the tone of my email, you should be able to see this for yourself. Her claim that I "quickly became angry that it was not being done how I wanted" is pure fiction, which should again be easy to discern from the email. I can only speculate about where her comments are coming from and what specifically I did wrong to cause her to fly off the handle like this. It is true that I, like the many other clients who she has spontaneously fired, did agree to her terms of service. However, nowhere in her terms does she state that she reserves the right to fire her clients on a whim and keep the deposit anyway. There are no businesses in existence in which that is an acceptable way to treat customers. Imagine if you hired a contractor to build you a house and they ended up refusing to do the job, refused to return your deposit, and gave you nothing but a rough blueprint of a house. Then, when you dare to complain, they label you as emotionally unstable and abusive. You would agree it's absurd and unfair, not to mention probably illegal. I encourage Hannah to update her terms to make this policy clearer, although I highly doubt anyone would ever agree to hire her after reading them. read more

I've had the chance to work with Hannah 3 times now and each time I'm blown away even more by her artistry. She's super professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to all details throughout the process. Her hand is gentle which helps make sessions feel super easy to sit through. She also does a great job providing thorough aftercare details and recommendations, and she's quick to respond with additional tips/recommendations if any issues come up during healing process. The shop itself is impeccably clean, the decor is amazing, and stations are pretty spaced out so it doesn't feel at all cramped. Hannah is a true master of her craft, I recommend her to anyone looking to get amazing, quality work. She's also hilarious so I definitely recommend sharing stories while you're in her chair. I definitely look forward to working with her again in the future. read more

I rarely gave any business less than 4 star reviews before but this is an exception. Before having a tattoo, I decided to speak with different artists and Hannah was one of them. I paid and scheduled a consultation with Hannah on Oct 28 at 10am. I did not receive a zoom link from Hannah until 10:04am on Oct 28, Hannah emailed me that she would be late to the meeting which was supposed to already start 4 mins ago. At 10:15am, Hannah texted me on the phone and asked to reschedule. By the time we finished rescheduling, I wasted 26 mins of my time which was not apologized and paid for by Hannah (emails and phone messages are kept for record) On Saturday Oct 31, we were scheduled at 4pm. My other appointment went over so at 4:26pm i messaged Hannah and asked if I could consult with her for the rest of 34 mins which was already paid for. Hannah said I wasted her time (which btw was already paid for) and asked me to pay again to reschedule. I own a successful business for 10 years and this goes both ways. Customers do NOT evolve around the business. Maybe Hannah already has too many clients so she doesn't need to deliver decent customer services. But in the "normal" business world, when a client pays for one hour of your time, you will give client that full hour of service, no more, no less, no matter what happens. And if you screw it up, you need to compensate that client somehow. Rest assured, I won't be able to trust Hannah to deliver her services to the level that I'm looking for. I brought a pretty loose idea to Hannah because I had seen her creativity and strong style on some pieces before. I wanted a full shoulder cap that extended to my neck. We've had 5 sessions and just completed it. I've had a lot of work done in the past, and Hannah's attention to detail, fantastic conversation, and deep knowledge of pigments, equipment, color, and illustration resulted in the best tattoo experience I've ever had. Our sessions were long but they flew by and I found myself looking forward to our appointments rather than dreading the pain. At every stage of the process, Hannah made space for me to make adjustments - but I don't think I even made one. Her intuition was always spot on and her execution was second to none. I couldn't be happier with my experience and I recommend her to anyone looking for an artistic, colorful, expressive tattoo. She's unafraid of ambitious pieces but executes just as skillfully on smaller stuff. Schedule a tattoo with her! You'll be glad you did forever. read more

Supremely happy! Getting tattooed by Hannah is such a treat! Her hand is gentle and precise, her artistry is spot on. Color work is awesome. Well, you can see the pic. She took the picture I brought her and brought it to life on my arm. I'm very deeply appreciative and thankful to have this piece on my arm for the rest of my life. Hannah designed and inked my sleeve of a phoenix rising out of waves, smoke and fire. It is clear, bright, and bold, and truly reflects where I am at in my life. It also complements a bamboo forest tattoo on my shoulder from 10 years ago. I could not be happier with the work of art on my arm. When I initially met with Hannah, I said wanted a phoenix immersed in fire and water, and it had to be clear and recognizable at a distance. The style of some of her pieces with big patches of color is what initially drew me to her work. So her sketches from that consultation had lots of space for color and shading, in place of fine detail. But there is some finer detail in in some areas like the inner elbow, which works really well with the anatomy of my arm. My approach was to describe as best as I could the broad strokes of the idea, and trust Hannah to know how to apply that into an actual tattoo. She clearly can do many styles and probably works with each client differently. But this worked very well for me. It's been about 2 months since the tattoo was finished, and I am still finding little things about it that I hadn't yet appreciated - such as how the design works on my arm or how the layering of some of the elements flow and contrast with each other. If you are willing to invest some time and money in some art that will last your lifetime, then check out her work and see if her styles appeal to you. She's clearly capable of a wide range of work, and she will work with you to make sure the piece is what you are looking for (even if you're not 100% sure what that is at first). She's also really interesting to talk to, is very profesional, and made me feel at ease through roughly 26 hours of tattooing. read more

After paying a $400 deposit, my tattoo appointment had to be rescheduled several times due to COVID-19 shutdowns. The last time I tried to reschedule the date, Hannah told me she was so busy she couldn't book me until sometime in 2022, my original appointment was for April of 2020. She then offered to return my deposit, minus fees. I was surprised, but given the delay, I agreed to do that. Hannah, then, despite suggesting this, refused to refund my money saying all deposits were non-refundable. I then tried to once again reschedule my appointment but Hannah refused to respond or give me any date options despite multiple requests on my end. I've worked with tattoo artists all over the country and never experienced such a lack of professionalism. Do not book a tattoo with this scammer. read more

I really cannot praise Hannah enough. I have several tattoos but her skill really blew me away and she is the only person I want putting ink on my body from here on out. Not only is she technically skilled as an artist but she has a very soft touch compared to other artists Ive worked with. Also what I appreciate is that she will work with you to both get the tattoo you want but that will also work with your body and the space. I asked her for something and she told me point blank it wouldnt work and suggested something better. I really appreciate this because some tattoo artists will just do whatever even if it doesnt result in the best piece. Hannah will never let something sub-par go out of her shop and I commend that. I had a TERRIBLE tattoo I got when I was 18 (see the before pic, I have very few pics because I hated it so much). I went in with a vague idea of what to cover it with and Hannah collaborated to make a beautiful piece that also makes my previous tattoo non-extant. I told her I wanted it to be bright and beautiful unlike the previous dark piece and Im still blown away by how she was able to transform it. I used to hate my leg but now I show it off with pride! I used to regret my old tattoo but now I don't because without it I may never have ended up with this beauty. read more

Hannah tattooed me a couple of years ago (with my first and only tattoo!!) and I could not be happier with the results. She has a very soft touch (my tattoo was broken into 2 sessions -- 7 hours on the first, 3 hours on the second). I only started getting sore towards the end of my first session. Wow -- not even sure where to start! I came to see Hannah as my 3rd consult for a sleeve (1st real piece -- other than a random turtle I have on my ankle) I was getting ready to start. From the initial consult, I knew Hannah was my girl. The previous artists that I'd met with had me in and out in less than ten minutes, and while they were both talented people -- I felt rushed and they didn't seem all too interested in understand what I was going for. Hannah had blocked out an entire hour for us to talk about my piece and given that this was my first real ink (and was going to be visible since we started on my forearm) -- I felt very much at ease with someone really wanting to take the time to grasp the vision, detail, and type of tattoo I was going for. Hannah sent me away with some homework and we booked my first (all day) session just a few weeks out. I arrived on a Tuesday and was definitely a little anxious/nervous -- but Hannah quickly had me at ease once she got started. Simply put -- Hannah is a badass human being and bleeds dedication and passion to the art of tattoo. I cannot respect her enough for her grind and drive to be the best at what she does, and her work speaks for itself. Six hours of a needle jamming into my skin thousands of times per minute later and my first session was done. The time flew by and Hannah was great at giving me breaks when I needed a few minutes. Two weeks later I was back for my second session and we finished up in a little over 4 hours. I thought her work was amazing after my first session, but once we added the map, leaves, and a few more details to the piece -- I was flat out blown away by how things came together. I'm not even near fully healed yet and cannot stop getting complements and questions about my tattoo and who had done the work. I feel so lucky and grateful to have found such a badass artist -- and without a doubt Hannah will 100% be doing the rest of my work. I'm not a fan of traditional tattoo (though I appreciate it) and really love the black and grey, highly detailed, and realistic look -- which Hannah absolutely nails. I can't wait to continue working on my sleeve -- thanks again, Hannah! read more

Hannah is a nice woman. I contacted her to tattoo a complex set of tattoos. I paid her $20 consult. I had a 1 hour meeting. Went over things. She seemed always busy and let me know that. This should have been first red flag. After a second consult she said she could squeeze me in and requested a non refundable $400 deposit. She said her rate is $1500 per session. She put me on the calendar the following week. I asked for a drawing. She said she was too busy and couldn't spend too much time. She sent me photo attached. I wanted hot rod flames to start. I saw this and said this wasn't on point for me. I wanted to have at least a new rendering. She said she didn't have time ....and if this wasn't it she'd have to reschedule. At this point, since I sent her the $400 the day prior and I felt brushed off...I said I wanted to cancel. I said why don't you keep the $200 for your time and give me back the other $200. I was being polite. Deposits are usually required so artist doesn't lose money as time approaches and some joker cancels. This is not the case. Long story short, she wrote emails telling me if I am worried about $200 then I shouldn't have scheduled for her $1500 rate...basically insulting me. . She stated that she didn't want to work with me any longer and was going to keep the money. (I was canceling so not sure how that makes sense). I told her I would be forced to write a 1 star review. I'm in construction, even though we collect a $1000 deposit and have legal claim to it, if a customer cancels we ALWAYS give it back. That way we can ensure future relationships and avoid bad blood which results in a review like this. Her work is good but I found better (world renowned) artists that are more chill, priced less in relation to the work I wanted and not as aggressive with tactics such as aforementioned. read more

Love my Hannah tattoo. From collaborating on the art to fully healed, the experience was refreshing and professional through and through. The ~7 hours I spent under the gun was a real joy what with Hannah telling stories and generally keeping my mind somewhat occupied on something other than pain (the tattoo kind of pain generally induces unconsciousness in me but not this time!). Hannah is an amazing artist. She's done two beautiful pieces for me over the last couple of years and as different as they are (one is a B/G portrait, the other is a gorgeous color botanical cover-up), the artistry, finesse and care with which they were rendered was the same. I find myself wanting to wear tank tops year-round because I always want to show them off. For the portrait, I brought Hannah a number of photos of the subject (James Baldwin) and we chose together which would work best for the placement. The detail of expression and mood, and the nuance Hannah managed to capture is astounding. I get asked about it constantly, people are astounded by its quality. At first I was worried about finding an artist who is comfortable tattooing darker skin, but Hannah had no concerns whatsoever and immediately put me at ease. After having such a great experience and result with my first piece, there was no doubt I would go back to Hannah for the cover-up I had been putting off for forever (ah, the 90's). For that one, I had a general idea of what I wanted (succulents and California native plants), but let Hannah have free rein with he design and placement. I sent her a couple of specific plants I might like to include, and we also looked at some possibility together. Then she drew and placed them in such an incredibly natural, artistic, and organic way. Her color work is both bold and subtle. Hannah's also just hella cool and someone it was a pleasure spending hours upon hours shooting the shit with. What more could you ask for?! read more

I have been working with Hannah for about 2 years in which she has completed a Frank Frazetta style, viking themed sleeve for me. I chose Hannah for her skill in realism but if you check out her portfolio she is talented in many different styles. Hannah is highly educated on the mechanics of inks and their effects on the human body and I trust her to use the safest inks available. Hannah is also very easy to get along with and talk to which helps pass the time on long sessions. She was very intuitive to what I was looking for in my design and was able to give me exactly what I was looking for. Her prices are fair for the level of skill she delivers and I've recommended many people to her. read more

Professional, friendly, and efficient, Hannah delivered more than what I was hoping for my tattoo. Went in for a consultation and quickly comped together a design right there that day. No waiting, no guessing, just simple and easy. She preferably works digitally in order to deliver sketches quickly if requested. Getting in touch was never hard. I would usually get an answer within the same day if I were to have any questions. The entire process was an absolute enjoyable process partially because as a client I knew what I wanted, who I wanted it from, how I wanted it in regards to how the particular artist works, and came in with additional materials prepared beforehand. And as the professional, Hannah, gave educated and experienced advice in the entire tattoo process and tattoo care. Lady is pretty down to earth so chatting during the long sit wasn't awkward at all. Not that I absolutely needed to chat constantly but the fact that it's not a bother to her when I was a bit chatty during the session made the pain that much more bearable and enjoyable. All in all, a fantastic experience. Definitely coming back for more tats. read more
