My sister and I have a ton of pointless tattoos. When we saw Sorry Mom on Instagram, we knew we had to take that drive from Sacramento to Oakland to get a tattoo from Daysha. Our Gigi hates our tattoos and asks us not to get any. It was so fitting we got their brand name but instead of "mom" we got "Gigi and Gma". Daysha got us both in one after the other. I have been eyeing going to Sorry Mom for a few months and finally reached out to Jane to schedule an appointment. Jane was soo helpful and kind. I wanted to get an abstract drawing of two feminine faces kissing. I gave Jane a few examples and descriptions of what I was looking for and Jane did a fantastic job of encapsulating exactly what I wanted. During the tattooing process, Jane helped to calm my nerves and checked in with me throughout the whole time (even though it was under 10 minutes). As much as I love tattoos, my pain tolerance for them is low. Jane was also super helpful when I reached out post-appointment--I was worried about irritation and infection (my tattoo was NOT infected and I was only being overly anxious). I absolutely LOOOOVE my tattoo. I have gotten so many compliments on it already and it is hands down my favorite tattoo. The shop itself was a delight to be in. The energy in there is so fun and all the staff was friendly (LOVE that they're all womxn/femme). 10/10 would recommend and will 1000% return for more tattoos :) read more

A new tattoo shop owned by a woman, with an all female staff as her artist in our very own Oakland. JAMIE, owner of SORRYMOM, incredible artist herself & not to mention a mommy of two! You can just feel the vibrations as you walk in. Jamie helped me book with SARITA, another talented artist (who welcomes you with a hug as you meet) that helped bring to my somewhat virgin skin my very first detailed tattoo. Both ladies were extremely helpful in figuring out what you want & how you want it. Sarita & I messaged the night prior to my appointment of course going over details of sizing & placement. She then went over in person as well by printing different sizes for my specific piece to ensure it was the right fit. The ladies let me snack on my own food, offered water & has the best playlist on so there's no need for headphones during your session. The piece itself came out beautiful & I thought I would've had to tell my own mom #SORRYMOM but she loved it & wants me to go back to get her face because of how well of a job it was.
